  • [center][fancypost=background-color: none; bordercolor=transparent; text-align:justify; borderwidth=0px; width: 600px; font-size: 9pt; line-height:110%;color:;] It was about 8:00 pm. The sun was peeking across the the horizon with a blissful goodbye. Golden tears drops leaked from it's eyes and the sky was swirling with blue's and oranges. It was the last day the carnival was open and he decided he might as well see what it was all about. Where he lived was a fairly small town so small that some people called it "the rift" just because of it's seemingly empty nature. It was surprisingly cold out, even though it was spring. He swore some day he was going to mouth down south to somewhere warm like Florida and bask in the sun. He was wearing a copper colored jacket and his signature white and orange striped scarf. He tied it pretty tight and it was higher than usual so it was covering a small part of his face. He had light brown hair that was on the wavy side. He usually had hair pushed in his eyes because it was such a goofy mess so he had borrowed one of his little cousins hair clips. It was bright red and had a little strawberry at the end.

Usually he'd be embarrassed by wearing something so girly in his hair, but he didn't think anyone would recognize him right? His name was a lame one that was sure. What kind of parent names their kid that? Well his mom was a weird one. He laughed under his breath thinking about her. Most of the time he tried to just not think about it. He put on his headphones and sat on the bench in the carnival grounds and stared up at the sky. He was listening to some terrible trap music that some girl recommended him at work she said it would help him become a "functional adult" he started snickering under his breathe, but then he looked around and saw a few people whispering and staring at him and realized that he was probably laughing a lot louder than he thought.

Then he saw the candy apple stand and his face lit up. Yesss he loved candy apples no one was going to get in his way. He ran up to the candy apple stand and took his headphones off and looked through his wallet and he was one dollar short. The tickets to get into the carnival were overpriced like 5 dollars?? Seriously he thought carnivals were supposed to be free. He looked absolutely pitiful like he was about to cry and several old ladies patted him on the back saying it was going to be alright and one of them lent him an extra dollar. He walked around the grounds eating his apple looking content.

louise had to say, she absolutely loved the carnival. in fact, she loved it so much that when her family had arrived to the park grounds, she ran away from them! she'd come back to them, in due time, but it was her time to enjoy her life!

the 13-year-old long-haired, fair-skinned girl skipped through the carnival, careful of her parents seeing her. she knew that they would be extremely mad because she had run off like that, but in the end, they'd forgive her.

skipping next to a boy she didn't know, she looked at his candy apple in envy. she didn't have any money - that didn't stop her from stealing a few things behind the backs of the staff. "hey, yo! i'm louise! what's your name?" she asked, her gait a jaunty, happy one. the more time she was away from her nagging parents the better.[fancypost=background:#COLORHERE;height:1px;padding:0;width:450px;]

If Alto was embarrassed to be wearing a strawberry, he would be mortified at what Nemo was wearing, not that Nemo cared, they absolutely loved it.

The 'almost-six' year old would twirl around the fair grounds, a bright smile upon their face as their colourful tutu swirled around them, creating an amazing circle of rainbow. Their mother trusted them enough to let them play all alone in the area near the food stands and they were taking full advantage of that.
Nemo would smooth down their tee-shirt before running up to a cluster of old ladies, bouncing and jumping around enough for them to be overtaken by the young child's cuteness and load him up with candy and various trinkets from the stalls.

Nemo would give the old ladies a hug and a smile each before skipping off, sucking on a lolly. They would stop when they noticed two big kids walking beside each other, their pace increasing until they were able to catch up with them. "H-Hi!" Nemo would say, voice full of excitement, and possibly a bit too much sugar. "D-D'ya want c-candeh?"[center][ tags ]

  • [fancypost=width: 500px; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]Natalia doesn’t even know what she’s doing at the carnival. She guesses it’s to take a break from the shitshow that she now calls her life. Where should she even begin?

The apartment she lives in is the smallest in the complex - she has a single hammock in her bedroom (the only bed belongs to her child) and the rest of her stuff are stuffed into boxes, still. The faucet in her bathroom doesn’t work and she has to brush her teeth in the kitchen. The wallpapers are starting to peel to reveal an ugly, brown color underneath. There are spots on the ceiling that she highly suspects is blood, but she isn’t particularly sure how it got there in the first place.

It's no way to live, but she's been eyeing the apartment below them that seems plenty big enough. The owner of the complex says it used to belong to someone else, someone with hair as blonde as hers with a penchant for parties - said her name starts with a T but she hasn't come home for months. He says that, if the woman doesn't come back by the end of the month, it's hers.

Her work’s decent enough, for a drifter. At mornings, she works at a tiny coffee shop at the corner of her block and most of her patrons are zombiefied college students who are just crawling their way through the semester. It's easy enough. At nights, she works at this club called "Valkyrie" which pays better, but rotates bartenders enough that she only works four times a week. Between having two jobs, an adoptive child to take care of, and having no idea who she is, she's stuck in something chaotic.

    Speaking of her child...

"Nemo!" The woman quickly walks over before crouching next to her child, offering them a large grin before cadting a curious gaze at the people they approached. Natalia's in her primes, roughly around her late twenties - or so she guesses, she can't really remember. Her blonde curls frame a tender, oval face, surprisingly youthful despite the stress. Her wide eyes have a softness to them, a tenderness - she's pretty, if not a little sleepy. "Friends of yours, Nemo?"

ooc. au mom!talia is my favorite talia lma o
hope you don't mind that i kept nat as nemo's mom here

  • [center][fancypost=background-color: none; bordercolor=transparent; text-align:justify; borderwidth=0px; width: 600px; font-size: 9pt; line-height:110%;color:;]Alto had put his headphones back on, but when he noticed someone approaching him he took them off. Louise what a cool name. Such a name that made actual sense. Alto let out an internal cry, but he was smiling at the girl. "Nice to meetcha Louise. I'm Alto...where are your parents?" He said glancing around nervously. He wasn't a suspicious looking person right? Yeah, he was fine after all he was often mistaken for a teenager because of his baby like cheeks and slightly feminine appearance. He took a bite of his candy apple and let out a slight yelp. Oops he bit it too hard. The red candy was stuck to his teeth and he had to chew as hard as possible to get it into his mouth. Wow he probably looked like such a lame adult. He chuckled and nervously scratched his ear.

Soon a tiny child bounded over wearing probably the cutest outfit he'd ever seen. Any kid who wore a giant colorful tutu was a pretty rad kid in his book. Also the kid was adorable with soft looking cheeks that made Alto close to crying over how adorable this little kid was. He wanted to act mature after all, he had a job and at the same time was in college trying to pay off his already growing debt. Sometimes all the papers and work was so much that he wondered why he hadn't dropped out already and just gotten a job. It was odd that the town was so closed to big universities, but was so small. Just a drive's away was hodgepodge of busy college students and city folk. "Hmmm I already have candy, but more won't hurt!" He cooed at the child low-key tempted to pat their head.

He saw a woman's blonde hair bob over to the group. She was probably in her early or late twenties he couldn't tell because she looked fairly young. She was actually quite pretty...oh geez there were so many pretty people in the world. Alto coughed nervously and waved at the woman. "Is this your erm...sibling or maybe your child?" He said. Nemo? What a nice name didn't it mean "Nobody" in latin? Hah he couldn't remember the meanings of average words, but he remembered such a trivial fact like that. He looked at the child and turned away for a second just because of how soft his heart felt because oh geez that kid was so cute.

ooc: this is connected to the college coffeeshop au yes this is good let it be known
