-- Timeskip to the next morning...-- (Note - Read my cats' responses to see important details about where some of the rogues are)
The rhythmic patter of paws echoed quietly on the forest floor as cats slid through the early-dawn-lit undergrowth. Mixes of calicoes and tabbies, black and white pelts, bright ginger and dark brown fur. Collars marked a few of them as former house cats but others patchy fur represented their long life as a wild cat. A solid light brown tabby she-cat was at the front, her slitted yellow eyes a striking color and sight to see. Beside her was a longer-furred she-cat with a similarly-patterned stripes in her white fur. While it wasn't obvious at first, the two she-cats had similar body types, though the mostly white one who was clearly younger was a little smaller yet had bigger ears. Even so, her eyes had an equally stunning color--though they were clearly more uneasy than the other one's.
"Are you sure this is the right thing to be doing?"
"Certainly. This means better hunting, which means a stronger clan!~"
"But we're not a clan..."
"Shut up! It doesn't matter! We still need that territory more than they do. They can go survive in that shack we were all crammed into before!"
"It's a mansi-"
"Stop trying to change my mind, Kavri!"
"But Mother..."
"I told you to not call me that!"
"Sorry, Sahila..."
"Right, we're almost here. Everyone, quiet! Juvir, Devrin, you know what to do. Places, everyone!"
The rogue she-cat's voice was brisk and urgent yet low. The other she-cat, the one who had argued, let out a quiet sigh as she fell into step beside her mother, a black tom with a white patch over his eye not far behind her. A dark brown tabby tom and a white and ginger she-cat led two smaller groups of cats back into the trees, the tabby sitting down at the head of his on the forest floor while she she-cat climbed up a nearby tree along with more of the cats. The main body was crouched in bushes, but as the leading she-cat silently raised her tail, four cats rushed silently pounced from the underbrush and onto the two unlucky cats standing guard. One was a small calico she-cat called Robinflight, who tried to let out a cry but was cut off by claws sinking into her pelt and paws on her chest. The other cat standing guard with her, a ginger tom named Lionripple, froze, not knowing what to do, but before he could react cats jumped upon him as well. While the two guards were subdued, the other rogues rushed passed, Sahila at the front with Kavri not far behind, heading towards the dens to attack the sleeping cats.
Lionripple & Robinflight --
Lionripple let out a small gasp as he spotted his clanmate being pounced on, his long pelt fluffing out. His paws seemed planted on the ground, but they were planted no more when two cats leaped on him too. However, they were two small she-cats. Despite their claws being sharp and his pelt already starting to turn a bit red with blood, he easily bucked them off. As he did, they proceeded to rush past him and into the camp to follow the other rogues that already ran passed him. Lionripple, however, quickly went to help Robinflight, who was desperately trying to block her eyes from being claws. Lionripple let out a grunt and threw his weight against one of the cats on top of the calico, knocking him to the side before twisting to slash at the other she-cat on her. As he did so, they also ran into the camp, following their allies. After helping Robinflight up, he started to leap down the path into camp, all while yowling, "Rogue attack!"
Stalking Wolf & Thrushcall --
Stalking Wolf immediately woke to his brother's panicked call. He quickly flicked Thrushcall with his tail, but she was already up and jumping up the steep slope leading into the warriors' den. Stalking Wolf was close behind, but was intercepted as Thrushcall was tackled back into him. Stalking Wolf let out an annoyed huff and dodged around his wrestling sister and raised a massive paw, unsheathing his claws to run them down the black she-cat's face that was attack his sister. The she-cat let out a screech, letting go of Thrushcall and backing off. Her eye was closed and already swollen, and it was obvious Stalking Wolf's slash most likely blinded her in that side. Instead of going back to attack the two, the she-cat ran off to fight another singular cat. "Come on!" Stalking Wolf hissed to his sister, who stood up from her place on the ground and gave a brisk nod, and the two ran towards some of the rogues to fight.
Adderpaw --
Adderpaw was awoken by the same call almost every other cat was. However, before he could get out of the den, a few of the rogues ran into the apprentices' den, attacking the younger cats and ultimately trapping them in the den. Adderpaw let out an angry growl and leaped for the biggest of the invaders--a dark grey-and-white tom--and grappled with him, wrapping his long limbs around him and trapping him in his claws, sending them tumbling across the den and scattering the moss.
Beepaw --
Beepaw had slept in the medicine den that night due to the severe wound to her face and the shock she had been in the day before during the dog attack. The medicine cats had wanted to monitor her despite her not being blinded in that eye. However, she awoke as she heard the cry. A slight bit of panic flashed across her gaze as she heard the screeches of both her clanmates and unknown cats. Standing, the tabby she-cat padded towards the entrance of the den, but as she was half way out, a paw with unsheathed claws hit her shoulder and pushed her into the tough roots that formed the outside of the medicine den, and, before she could realize what was happening, her attacker--a pale brown tom--had her pinned on the ground, with her back legs pulling tufts of fur out of his stomach as he attempted to pull the cobwebs off her face to open the wound there more, stopped only by her forepaws that were blocking it.
Dustfur & Bright Drizzle -- ( @STARBABY - )
Bright Drizzle was the first of the elders to wake up, dragging herself to the entrance of the den to see what the commotion was about. When she stuck her head out of the den, she spotted rogues attacking her clanmates. With a gasp, she pulled herself back into the elders' den. "Rogues!" She whimpered, spinning around the best she could to waddle her way back towards Dustfur and Amberlight. However, before she could reach them, two rogues--twins by the looks of it, considering their matching silver tabby pelts and black and and white collars--rushed in. One jumped on Bright Drizzle, easily spotting her disability. The rogue landed squarely on her back, her claws digging painlessly into her paralyzed back end. However, when the silver tabby dug her foreclaws into Bright Drizzle's shoulders and sunk her teeth into Bright Drizzle's grey-brown right ear, she let out a painful screech, her forelegs buckling under the new weight. However, it was soon removed. Dustfur snatched the she-cat's scruff and pulled her violently off Bright Drizzle, though some of her fur and part of her ear went with the silver tabby. A yowl escaped Bright Drizzle's maw as this happened. Her ears--or her ear and a half--pulled back against her head as her startled yellow-green gaze turned to see Dustfur and Amberlight fighting off the two attacking rogues as Bright Drizzle felt powerless to help.
Hazelshade --
Hazelshade was already at the entrance to the nursery, blocking the way in so no rogue could get to the kits and other queens as well as her mate, who she had left in her little tunnel of the nursery to come defend the entrance. Her tabby-calico fur was puffed up, a hiss coming from her as a large tuxedo tom approached her. "Get out of the way!" Growled the tom, his voice aggressive. In a response, Hazelshade slashed the tom's muzzle, running her claws from the side of his muzzle and clipping part of his nose. The tom reeled back for a moment, but it wasn't long before he had leaped at her, though he could only grab her scruff, as the other half of her was in the main clearing of the nursery. Despite his efforts, the pregnant she-cat had planted her feet to the ground, refusing to be moved. Raising a forepaw, she unbalanced herself but scratched the side of the tom's neck and sunk her claws in, forcing him to let go. Hazelshade had tripped a little, leaning against the cave entrance, which gave the tuxedo tom a chance to sink his teeth deep into her shoulder. In a split second, Hazelshade had sunk her own fangs into the tom's neck despite the pain it gave her shoulder and the odd way she had to twist her neck. The tom let out a yowl, releasing her shoulder. After Hazelshade had let go herself, she ran her claws along the tom's foreleg. By this time, the tom gave up trying to get into the nursery and ran away to fight other cats.
Lichenmoon --
Lichenmoon was one of the first out of her den, immediately taking one of the rogues that had originally started to go for the medicine den by surprise. She sunk her claws into the calico's shoulder and flank, her teeth biting into her ear and tearing it off. That was enough to make the rogue flee, a thin trail of blood dripping behind her. Lichenmoon's oddly calm yet narrowed gaze scanned the clearing, quickly assessing the situation before yowling, "Defend the queens and elders! Help those who were injured by the dogs!" At this point, a light brown tabby had started stalking her from behind--the leader of the rogues, of course--as she had easily pinpointed Lichenmoon as the leader, not only from moons of studying the clan cats, but from the way she stood. The way she held herself and the tone of her voice made it obvious she was in charge. Lichenmoon, unsuspecting, let out a hiss as she felt a weight on her back push her down. Lichemoon quickly bucked the she-cat off and spun around, turning to face the she-cat. A low growl in both she-cats' throat, they reared up and clashed together, tussling with each other on hind legs before landing on the ground with a thud, claws, claws and teeth mushed together in a hissing and growling ball of spiked fur.
Kavri --
Kavri's wide yellow gaze scanned the clearing, the amber rings around them clearly visible. She didn't know where to start. Keesh, Pocki, Leela and Indigo seemed to have come to join them, leaping their way semi-clumsily down the rocky slope that lead down to the camp with the two cats that had been on guard not far behind them. Demi had tried to attack cats coming out of one of the dens, though it seemed the massive tom that had followed a tabby she-cat out of that particular den gave her a good scratch across the face, probably blinding her in that eye. Slate had led a few of the younger cats into another den, and yowls echoed from inside, showing their attack had been a terrible wake-up call for the cats inside. Suki and Sami had gone to attack a den with few scents in them, while Walli had attempted to break into the milky-smelling den where kits surely were, only to be fought off by a heavily pregnant she-cat. No cat would get in there as long as that calico-tabby she-cat was there. Her mother, however, had attacked the patchy tortoiseshell she-cat she had always talked so bitterly about, who already seemed to have fought off Rena with a single attack. The leader. Kavri knew to let Sahila fight that battle herself. So, instead, the brown-tabby-striped white she-cat with light brown marking her face, back and tail just spectated, waiting for the right time to jump in.
