  • There was no one at the border.
At least, that was what it seemed like.
"Hello? I'm Lorry and I'd like to join this place!" The voice was male, a bit high but not childlike. It seemed to be coming from behind a tree. The only clue to the whereabouts of this voice was a hovering cluster of bracelets and a string that was probably meant to be a necklace. The bracelets were arranged in four separate stacks, around the same height, hovering a bit above each other. It was almost if they were attached to a set of invisible legs.
    Spoiler alert:they were.

    BASTILLEPRISONER AURELIUS. GRAND PRIOR.

For Bast, things looked a little differently. He could see a clear aura signature and no body attached, leaving him to believe he was dealing with either a ghost or an invisible stranger. Either way he sighed and headed in their direction, his face still scabbed slightly where he'd suffered Jackdaw's bullet ants. Just thinking about the agony made his skin crawl, so he tended to not think about it, choosing instead to patrol and greet joiners where they appeared. "Yo. I'm Bastille, and I'd like to... welcome you, I guess," he commented dryly.

Bastille, sir, are you speaking to yourself? Pixel mused as she floated up beside the other. The medic had missed Lorry's joining request, and thus she acted as if he was not even there. The angel huffed and landed beside the other feline, raising a brow. It just sounded like you went and accepted someone. Did they leave already, love? she mused with a confused hum.

CALLING OUT FOR THE ROPE — hazel levesque — knights of eden — tags

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]As it turned out, Bast wasn't crazy - Hazel could see it, too. But an invisible stranger - not a ghost. Hazel had been around ghosts for a while, and this wasn't what their aura looked like. Not to her, anyway. Different people saw the veil in different ways.

"No, we've just got a slightly hard to see new friend," Hazel assured Pixel with a purr. Taking a seat next to Bastille, she nodded in the newcomer. "Hello. Welcome to Eden." She added.

  • "Hello Pixel, Bastille, and...you." Lorry didn't know the name of the third person. It seemed Bastille and the other one could see him in a way that wasn't normal. Well, that was good! He hadn't terrified anyone. Also good. "Thanks for the welcome?" What should I say next? Are they going to ask why I'm like this? What do I tell them?
    The truth?

Bastille glanced at Pixel, about to assure her that he wasn't that crazy, but then there was Hazel. His gaze lingered on Haze for a moment, but then he looked away, forcing his attention back on the newcomer. Joining member, important shit, right. "This is Hazel," he said after a moment, filling in the name gap with a tilt of his head towards her, "Are you, uh, always like that?" He felt like asking this stranger to shut off their powers, but hey: maybe their powers hated them as much as Bast's hated him.

I THINK I'VE THOUGHT MYSELF TO DEATH!

  • Of course they were going to ask. It was his defining feature, in what perfect world wouldn't they? "It's a long, long, long story but the short answer is yes. I'm kinda stuck like this." Lorry shuffled his paws a bit, thinking about exactly how that had happened. The embarrassing thing was he didn't remember. All he remembered was a series of panicked thoughts and wanting to hide, more than anything he had ever wanted. So, he had. And then stayed like that. It was good that anything he wore still showed up, otherwise he would be completely invisible.

Bastille studied him for a moment, and arched a brow. Didn't remember? That sounded like either trauma or someone getting in this guy's head - and, for that matter, taking away the memory that they'd even been in his head in the first place. "Well," he said after a moment, "We'll splash some paint on you or some shit. It'll bless ghost-y, you know? I guess I could try and access the memory for you, but sounds like some weird shit, dude."

Pixel chuckled nervously at Bastille's idea. Lets... not throw paint on him, love... she mused, slightly amused. She had to admit, the idea did sound humorous, but probably not to the target. Pixel smiled brightly and turned to the socks on the ground. I have a large accessory wardrobe in my room if you wish to see it, dear! she offered with a bright smile. It was odd looking at socks, but she had no idea where the fellow's face was. She hope he was not mad about it. Her? It? Who knew.

    lorry!

Lorry grinned at both of them, and it was clear in his voice. "Paint would actually work, but then I'd go invisible every time it rained. And can I see the wardrobe? It sounds so cool!" Oddly enough for a cat, he loved messing around with accessories and making different looks. The were the only thing people could see about him, after all.
