  • CYRUS;;

    Cyrus had been that caught up in his own process of adjusting to the Rift that he had been neglecting the other Arcanists- or Alurians, he noted with a feeling of sadness; they weren't exactly the Arcane anymore. He'd figured that the others were having jus as much trouble, so borrowed the idea of Twilight in the past, when they had merged with Skaia.

    He'd felt fairly awkward as he set up an area off to the side of camp, spreading a blanket or two that he'd found across the ground and leaving a selection of prey and other snacks in the center. The nyari then proceeded to take a shrew for himself, and go to sit at the edge of the blanket. Hopefully this would ease some of the Arcanists nerves about the transition- including his own.

    "Meet and greet for Arcanists!"He called out, hoping that his friends were around. There were only a few of them, less than before. They'd lost several in the eruption, either dead or just having not been able to get to the ice along with the others. He still had to thank Waterwing for all she'd done to help them-hopefully she'd come to this meet and greet and he'd have the chance to do so. Cyrus was also considering leading a group to go back to the old island, to look for survivors and possibly find some to help back to the Rift. The prospects were grim in that case, he knew, but he tried to hope.

    Hahah nope. He was not interacting with this. The last time that one of these were held, it ended in disaster; he had to speak. Don't get him wrong, he could. He could very well. There were millions of thoughts and questions bumping and creating friction in his head for ages. He just never speaks a word. He, again, has no reason to. He does not have a reason to do a lot of things. The boy cleared his throat nervously before simply turning down to his book, hoping the others would not see him. Nope. He's not about that life.

  • Planchette was laying nearby, resting up and what have you not. "Hm?" The ragdoll asked looking over, "My name's Planchette." She mewed waving her tail in greeting, She knew pretty much everyone, tho not on a personal level or anything, she by passing, maybe this would be a chance to get to know everyone better.

    "You should say something, Liam," he commented lightly to the kit as he arrived, before turning his attention to Cyrus. While Cain wasn't horribly familiar with the Arcane leader, it was interesting to see more and more of him after settling into their new home. Cain had been meaning to ask him a few things about traditions, and to discuss a possible ceremony - but they could go over that later. Instead, he just added, "I'm Cainsmark. Hey, Cyrus, have more members surfaced? I believe there was one of your members I saw arriving the other day, but otherwise I wouldn't know who all we were still waiting for."

    No i shouldn't. the boy quickly responded, ears pinned back. Don't make him talk. Please don't make him talk. The boy sighed and flipped a page in his book. He did not want to speak. He has nothing special about him. He is a pawn. There is nothing about him to say.

  • // "speech" - actions - thoughts \\

    What was this? A 'meet and greet'? It sounded pointless to the archaeopteryx, but if that was what his new allies were doing, he'd participate without much of a fuss. It did provide a good opportunity to get to know those who he was now living with, he reasoned, and that was a rather important factor to this whole scenario he had placed himself into. So he carried himself over to Cyrus and sat down among his clanmates. "Greetings. Name is Arkaziel," he rumbled. He paused, then added, "Pleasure."

  • [center][fancypost=width: 500px; text-align: justify]He'd been missing a lot of joinings and didn't know the Arcanists that had come very well either, so Gray shuffled on over and sat down next to Liam, trying to gently pat the other. "My name's Grayarea, and this is Liam." He pointed to his younger friend, deciding not to try and get him to talk since Cain was already doing that and the kit was not on board with it. "Should we say a bit about ourselves as well?" He asked the Legatus and Navarch.

    'please, there's a better bit of me to see yet, cuz you haven't seen any of my best, you know i hate myself without you now, yeah...

    The day that Saosin had joined was the day he'd learned that the Rift had just merged with another group. Even during their abrupt move to the new island he hadn't had much luck in distinguishing any of them from the Rifters, and when he overheard Cains comment he realized that Cyrus was the only one among them. He figured that must have sucked. He might not have been emotionally close to many back in the Tribe, but to suddenly lose them all would have still been a hard pill to swallow. Maybe even as hard as walking away.

    "Saosin. I just joined before the move." he would say as he made his way over, coming to a stop with the rest of them. He didn't really know what else to add, but he figured the introduction was enough.

    HIS SOLITUDE WAS A KNIFE — standpaw — the rift — he/him — tags

    [fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]If Standpaw were being frank, he was in the same boat as Liam right about now. The Gladiator felt absolutely no need to be here- everyone was going to act all fake and cheery anyways. He wasn't really going to meet anyone anyways... but did that stop him from putting on his own fabricated and totally forced smile and introducing himself? And acting like a snarky, sarcastic asshole all the while? Of course not! Any chance he had to show others how much he hated something, he would take in less than a heartbeat. "Standpaw," He said simply, smile drawn thin as he glanced around at the Rifters who had gathered so far.

    "And I vote no. I say we just introduce ourselves, then leave." Standpaw nodded enthusiastically, looking around the group to see if he had any fellow supporters of this notion. At least Liam might agree with him on this one- and not be silent for this issue. Honestly though- this little, or 'mass', meet and greet wasn't too bad. He would've rather just kept to himself in his room all day and been bothered by his own devices- but truth be told this was probably good for him.

    "And why shouldn't you?" he questioned Liam idly, before glancing up at the others. At Gray's question, Cain started to respond before rolling his eyes mildly at Stand. He would expect nothing less from his apprentice, honestly, but Cain just said, "Mm, too bad. We're including some information about ourselves. The Arcane is part of us now, and we need to get to know our Clanmates, so suck it up." He glanced down at Liam, and added, "You don't have to talk if you don't want to, Liam, but know that we'd love you to."

  • CYRUS;;

    Cyrus was pleased to recognise the faces that came over to the meet and greet, though not all of them seemed interested in conversation.
    He greeted Liam with a friendly "hey there," but it was received with awkward silence, and he was relieved when Cain and Planchette arrived.
    "Hey, Planchette, Cain. The Arcane wasn't a very big group when we came here, but not all of us managed to escape the territory. I've been meaning to send a group back to look for any survivors, or if any tried to flee to other territories. I'm not sure that the spirits would have found them."

    Cyrus wasn't going to make Liam talk if he didn't want to- though that was sort of the point of a meet and greet. If he was going to sit there and read, it was fine by him...
    "Nice to meet you, Arkaziel- I don't think I've seen you around before."

    The nyari nodded at Gray's statement- he'd been hoping that was going to happen naturally. But maybe, seeing as Standpaw and Liam weren't particularly interested in speaking, it might need to be said aloud.
    "I think we should," he agreed, before deciding that he might as well be the example. "Nice to meet you all. I'm Cyrus, and I used to be the leader of the Arcane. I'd lived in that group since I was born, so this is my first time really living in another group."

    Liam turned up to Cain with a tiny groan forming in the back of his throat. Why wouldn't the leader simply understand that he wanted to be left alone. He did not want to talk to any of his clanmates. They could hurt him. They were unpredictable and uncontrollable. He did not like them so he would not speak to them. He puffed up slightly as he bit the inside of his cheek, turning back down to his novel.

  • [center][fancypost=width: 500px; text-align: justify]Gray shrugged. Sure, he could talk about himself. "Well, uh, I was born on a farm but I left because I wasn't gonna have the life I wanted there. One of the Rift's previous leaders, Dia, adopted me and after she died I came here since she told me all about this place." Was that enough? It better be enough.
