  • Scarnose reached the shore and immediately spat and coughed water from his lungs. Slightly disoriented, he looked around, dazed, searching for Swanpa . He wanted to aid the she-cat any way possible. Finally spotting her, the water logged tom paced over. "Is there anything I can do? Any herbs I could search for?" It wasn't much, but it was the only way he could think to hint at his affection for the feline.
OOC, on mobile so sorry for short response

  • swanpaw

rising her ears, the feline turned her head slightly to the thumps of a running cat. they were heavy, as she can tell, and the scent was faded like all others. the voice spoke, the blur of black and white was all she saw, but she remembered the voice from anywhere. bowing her head to the tom, she remembered all too well of what many had said. the way he is always waiting to help and be near her can lead to one thing, love. the feline refused to follow that path, due to her ranking and what her kittens may have if she did had them.

as is swanpaw is blind, and seeing her own offspring having the same difficulty would make her down. it's like asking their kittens to never see the true light of the beautiful world they live in. taking in a deep breath, the feline looked over the tom with her blurry vision. there were no signs of blood, which was good, but the fact his voice sounded off gave her a clue. ``come with me,`` she meowed. bowing her head to her mentors, she dismissed herself and quickly went to the nearest juniper berry bush. it wasn't far from where the clan was, which was good, but it still was hard to get them quickly. sticking her nose in the air, she finally led herself to the bush where the berries were held. ``grab one large leaf. maple leaf.``

  • The tom simply nodded, not finding the need to answer with words. Scarnose took a moment to look around, searching for a maple leaf. A fox length away, he spotted one. He grasped it in his teeth then looked at the medicine cat apprentice expectantly. His whole demeanor displayed exhaustion. He may love to walk along the beach, but swimming was beyond his paygrade. In all honesty, he wanted nothing more than to lay down in a dry nest and rest. But there were others that needed help. The Clan came first and it was the job of the strong to aid the weak, especially during dire times such as this.

  • swanpaw

he speed started to slow, and this put a red flag up for her. carefully she pulled one berry off the bush at a time, putting it on the leaf that the tom had received. once a great number was on the leaf, she picked one off the branch and nosed it to the tom's direction. ``eat it. water is still in your lungs. after you eat this rest.`` her head leaned over to the leaf, nosing around the object to figure out where all sides were. slowly she folded each side and grasp the middle of the leaf within her maw. her tail gave a gentle sway, eyes staring into the direction the tom was located. it was weird, tending to a cat that you knew likes you. medicine cats may not have mates, and she want to stick to it, but she still wonder what it would be like to have a mate. most come and go through her den half the time to check on each other.

queens have it rough, the tom cats always watching over them and ready to act when needed. it's as if no cat believes the medicine cats can deliver a litter safely. using the tip of her tail, the medicine cat apprentice tried to motion him to follow. luckily she knew most of the basic herbs, and juniper berries help breathing. scarnose needed it, from the sound of it that is. the feline had yet given him a full physical, so knowing if water was still indeed in his lungs was on a limb. as the two walk back to camp her eyes kept forward the whole time. bright blue eyes wandered aimlessly as it stared at blurry objects. the she-cat wondered what the world looked like outside of her blurry vision, of course, that would mean talking to other cats. as of now she can barely stand being alone with an older tom that has feelings for such a young feline.

  • Scarnose was about to eat the berries, but paused last moment. Others likely needed it more than him. He tried his best to wrap them up in a little bundle, then carried them back to camp, only a few paces behind Swanpaw. "Do you fink the ofers will make it back alright?" he asked, trying his best to be articulate despite his mouth being full. He knew she wasn't one much for talking, and he didn't want to come across as too forward, but the question needed to be asked. Before she could have had time to speak, a cough erupted from his muzzle, sending the bundle flying. He tried his best to play it off as if he was clearing his throat, but knew he wasn't fooling anyone. After a moment, he once again collected the bundle of berries and looked at Swanpaw expectantly, waiting for her analysis on the situation. A small amount of guilt was threaded through his thoughts- he had gone directly to Swanpaw instead of giving aid to the others that still might be in the water. But that had gone and past.

★ WHINCHATFEATHER MINKCLOUD & MUNTJACPAW - Interracting With: Swallowtail

Mom! Minkcloud cried as she rushed over to where Swallowtail had brought Burnetleafs body up onto shore. Mom! Say something! she buried her nose into the elders soaked fur and then pressed her ear against her chest. She didn't hear a heart beat. Mom! this time she was screeching, her yowl could be heard miles away, Minkcloud was distraught with grief. Whinchatfeather immediately rushed over, he felt grief threaten to swallow him whole at the sight of Burnetleafs lifeless body, and Minkcloud, who hadn't called her mom since she was a kit, screeching over her, threatened to tear his heart in half. Whinchatfeather trotted up behind her and nudged her softly, Minkcloud spun around to face him Its not fair she cried out it should've been me Whinchatfeather wrapped his tail around his sisters small body Shh he shushed her trying to get her to calm down itll be ok Minkcloud only turned away, refusing to take her eyes off of Burnetleafs lifeless body. It was at that time Muntjacpaw walked up, he had been coughing up water but now that he had gotten most if not all of it out of his system he was by his brother's side, he tried to look as strong as his brother did but he couldn't help but watch his sister hunched over their mothers body with a pained expression on his face

Gingersplash looked up at the call of his apprentices voice, worry flooded through him as he saw her small figure trying to star above water, without thinking he quickly jumped into the water and padded toward his apprentice, fighting against the current, the ocean was strong, but he was determined not to let his apprentice down, his collar had been stripped away, along with any self doubt he had in-stowed in him. He reached his apprentice and took her scruff in his mouth and held her head above water as high as he could. "I need you to kick your legs too, Eclipsepaw." He said and swam toward shore. It wasn't long before his legs were able to touch the bottom and he heaved his apprentice onto shore with him and released her.

Riverpaw noted Swanpaws use of the herbs that were still left and began to copy her actions, she looked around for the cats that needed it. Noting the huge gash that was now in Clearpaws leg she rushed over. The cobwebs were no doubt long washed away by now, but if they hurried they might be able to get into the deeper part jungle to the cobwebs that lay deep in the brush. "Mossheart, take Creekpaw and go to the under brush, grab as many cob webs as you can before the flood reaches the deep jungle, and you, Raypaw, sit down down exhaust yourself, you don't know if we may need to run again." She instructed.

Cherrypaw nodded, still looking concerned, the water started residing but that didn't calm the apprentices nerves. "You're not hurt right? You dont want me to fetch Spottedshell or Swanpaw?" She asked.

the sounds of coughing interrupted her head thoughts, not giving her a chance to answer the warrior behind her. quickly she turned around, her eyes trying to frantically search for the source. knowing the tom was the only one there, she quickly nudged the berry to him. she was worrying for his health, which was something new for her. this time she sat there, waiting for him to eat the berry before she continued on. they lost many cats during the flood, she was not losing another cat that is right in front of her. just imagining the lost souls in that cavern now made her sick to the stomach, and all she can do is just prevent anymore from the surface.

``eat them. now.`` the two were close to the others, making her relax a bit more but her heart was still racing. many were injured, she could tell now with blood being through the air. this is why she loved the cavern the clan stayed in, everything was dark and cold. there was little chance she could see or feel anything like blood. the cold stone had always soaked up the blood, making it hard to clean off, and the moss also did the trick. taking in a deep breath the feline took the small bundle away from the tom before gathering any missing berries he had drop.

    made by Norwegian Spirit

  • With a snort- of laughter? Annoyance? He wasn't sure- Scarnose ate the berry, then repeated his question with more clarity, "Do you think the others will make it back alright?" He tried to not think about the lives lost, but rather what he could do for the living. With a slightly uncomfortable cough, he continued, "And what about you, are you injured?"

  • Pondlily awoke drowsily, the edges of her vision cloaked in darkness. Her eyes blinked around blearily, a soft mrrow leaving pink lips. Her head hurt terribly, her side ached, and she was beginning to get really cold from the water that clung to her fur. What had happened? Well, there wasn't much Pondlily could remember. One moment she was swimming, intent on looking for Sandkit, the next thing she knew she was coming to here, on the shore. Turning her head with squinted, narrowed eyes, the white lass took in the familiar grey and white patched tom accompanied with a ginger and white tom. "S-Stormstrike? R-Ro-Row-Row?" she inquired, voice hardly audile. Great Starclan her head hurt! She uncurled her claws, closing her eyes and laying still again. The pain vibrated her head, along with the endless cries of her Clanmates. How she wished she could help them. The medicine cats needed their herbs and guidance, the queens needed to find shelter. Beachstar was in such an awful state last time she'd seen him... Yet, here she was, helpless and pained but mostly helpless. What type of warrior was she, to be weakened by a little incident? Grunting, she raised her head in defiance, but even effort sent a sharp pang through her skull and she screeched in agony. "Why!?" she wailed in frustration, voice cracking as she curled up in pitiful feeble position. "Starclan.. please...," Pondlily whispered, eyes screwed tightly shut and paws over her ears as her head kept a painful rhythm.

  • Rowantail

The ginger and white tom was lying down near his brother and Pondlily, letting himself rest from the rough swim. He was almost all rested up when he suddenly heard the she-cat's voice. Turning his head, he looked at her and quickly got to his feet. "Pondlily!" He meowed in concern. He lowered his head, touching his nose against the she-cat's forehead. He blinked when the tip of his cold nose pressed against the feline's forehead, watching her for a moment before he pulled his nose away when he saw her trying to move. He was about to protest for her not to, but she had already did so and just made more pain surge through her. He winced at the pained wail she made. His head turned to look at Stormstrike, wondering what to do now after Pondlily had gotten into a feeble position. They needed someone to help her. Rowantail knew Shellwind could, he heard that she was good with herbs and stuff though he didn't know where she was currently

  • swanpaw

the apprentice swayed her tail once more, the questions being put out there started to take a toll on her. not only that, she was exhausted from swimming that it was hard to even walk correctly. the feline simply nod for the first question, knowing most would be either tired or small injuries. most would probably need the berries she had collected with the warrior, due to the fact of water in the lungs. other might catch a mild cold or whitecough might spread, depends on how cold the night would be for the clan. the only cover they have is the trees provided and small dens under boulders. moss near the area would warm the cats up as well, so they should be fine.

herself on the other hand was on an iffy standpoint. she was indeed exhausted, and managed to twist one of her paws during the whole escape of the flood. hiding it was easy, but the pain kept rising as she forced herself to walk even more. slowly she nods her head the second time, answering his second question. looking over, she moved her head in a way to signal him to keep walking. sooner or later he would notice of her injury, and she rather be close to other cats that out here alone.

  • With a nod, Scarnose allowed silence to fall between them- he could tell that talking was an exhausting concept to her at the time being. He continued to pad along behind her, at first glancing around at his surroundings, then at the sky, and finally at his paws. Mud was caked beneath his claws, causing an uncomfortable sensation with every foot fall. For a split second, he worried that the rest of him was disheveled. He quickly came to the conclusion that he was, in fact, a mess. But vanity had never been one of his main attributes, so he just let it slide. Besides, everyone looked a mess at the time being. Many more moments of silence passed before the warrior noticed Swanpaw's slight limp. "You're hurt," he noted, his words tinged with what appeared to be worry- nothing overwhelming in the traditional sense, but any lapse of emotion from him was significant in some way.

NO I TOTALLY DIDNT FORGET ABOUT ROSEPAW LOLOL

Rosepaw dragged herself onto shore, spitting and sputtering water out. Her small form drenched in water as she desperately called out for her family. None of them answered and as her cries grew more hysterical and worried it began to draw the attention of the others. Rosepaw finally saw it. Two flanks laying across the beach "Mom...Dad?" She asked and ran over, forgetting about her own injury that was burning on her back. She looked down at the deceased bodies of Feathermist and Appleclaw, tears welling up in her eyes as she desparetly looked around for her siblings, for comfort. Off in the distance she spotted three more unmoving figures. "Junglepaw? Forestfire? Jacklepaw?" She cried out and collapsed at the realization that she was now the only one alive in her whole family. Why did her kin get to join the ranks of Starclan but she was stuck here, hurting and feeling the pain that tore at her heart.

OOC: Keeping this short since I'm mostly waiting on replies^^ Ahhh I should stop doing my RP responses at 3 am.

    IC:

    Brightshell-
    Female | Deputy
    Apprentice: Greypaw
    -(waiting on Beachstar)

    Stormstrike-
    Male | Warrior
    Apprentice: Clearpaw

-"That's good.." he sighed, looking over Rowantail for injuries. Other than being absolutely soaked, his brother seemed to be perfectly fine. Satisfied, the gray and white tom took a seat to rest. Only to be startled as he heard Pondlily stir from her unconsciousness. He had barely manage to catch her calling his name over the sounds of the crashing waves.Within an instant, the warrior was by her side, observing her worriedly as she wailed and pitifully muttered words he couldn't quite hear. "You're okay Pondlily..." he started, wincing as she hardly reacted. the tom simply couldn't go on comforting her like this as she curled up in sadness. He turned his head to the huddled group of cats, a flash on anger flickering in the gold. "Can we get a medicine cat? Now." He growled lowly with a twitch of his whiskers. He gave an annoyed huff, looking to his younger brother as he spoke up. "Go bring one of the here." At the moment, Stormstrike was worried he may have been a tad too pushy with his brother. But the worry for Pondlily overtook it, so he pushed the thought aside. He had always been quite bossy with his younger siblings, only easing up once they became warriors actually, so he hoped Rowantail didn't mind him going back to those ways.

    Shroudpaw-
    Female | Apprentice
    Mentor: Coralstripe

-The calico she-cat blinked at him as he looked away, anxiously digging her claws into the sand underpaw. She looked up as he got up, ear twitching as she listened to what he had to say. "O-okay." She agreed. When the flood had started, her first instinct had been to go help Ripplewing. She wouldn't let helpless kits drown... out of everything, that was one of the firm things she believed in; kits should be protected at all costs. So she hadn't even noticed her mentor in her rush to help Ripplewing. She knew he wasn't a great swimmer, but she didn't think he could die so easily... so Shroudpaw thought it was most likely that her much more cheerful mentor was still alive. She kept her head down, following after Coralstripe as they ventured further into the crowd. There was plenty of chaos around there... Brightshell was by a weak looking Beachstar, Stormstrike was quite angry, Reefsplash was doing things Brightshell should have been doing, and everyone looked drenched and miserable... she gave a soft sigh, putting on a small boost of speed to catch up with him as he drew ahead.
