  • [center]( Well, it's more like a hand-me-down one from my parents, but still, it's something! Still figuring out how everything works tho. Also i think you double-posted?? Or i've got a glitch? )

    His opponent had homefield advantage, so to speak, so Darius had to move quickly if he wanted the upper hand. Seeing his opponent dodge, he grabbed the next dagger from his pocket, moving forward to strike. If it hit, it would get his opponent in the upper arm, nearer the elbow, or in the torso. Either way, it would get across the point the Darius does not mess about when in a fight.

    (Whoops rushed post but hopefully it's good enough to give you something to work with?? )

    Still, it's nice. Haha what kind is it, like fancy or knock off brand? whoops, sorry my phone's a jerk sometimes D=
    don't ever worry with rushed things, it happens!!

    IC:
    His eyes went a little wide at the sudden leap, which caused him to realize that he had left himself mostly open. He had even learned not to do that from his mentor, who still whooped his butt silly, it was pretty bad, but then again, she could really demolish anyone. He was brought back when his side was cut slightly, and let out a soft huff, he had just fixed the arm of his jacket and now he had to sew the side back together, great. The blood would be no problem to get out though. Working quickly, he stepped forward swinging the beater near the other's knees, planning on either body blowing the other, and knocking his legs out. It usually worked, but he wouldn't be surprised if this man dodged, he didn't seem like one to mess around.

  • ( It's fairly new actually, but the mousepad's broken so you have to plug a mouse in, which is why they replaced it, but i'm fine with that. And I'm still pretty rushed because I'm helping with tea, but it's almost done so after tea i'll e able to make longer posts (in, say, 30 mins or so?). )

    He had expected a counter-attack, but at least he made some kind of impact on his opponent, so he managed to sidestep most of the blow. It did catch his leg very slightly, and send him a little off balance, but he was able to recover quickly, watching again for any signs of weakness. Chances were that he wouldn't fall for the same trick twice, so there was no use throwing the second dagger. May as well dual-wield them to be able to get more hits in.

    Darius wondered at what point they would call off the fight. Would it be down to his opponent only, after he had managed to get a good judge of his skill, or was it when one of the two conceded?

    Eww, that sucks, my track pad goes wonky every now and again. Like I said before, don't sweat with rushing, I hope your tea is/was really good! Sorry I didn't reply sooner, my sis just turned 21 so we were having cake.

    IC:
    When he felt his beater hit flesh, he once more stepped back again, watching with wide eyes. Narrowing would reduce his field of vision, at least that's what was taught, and took another step back. He should probably call off the fight, since he was actually rather bad when not wanting to cause a lot of harm to a teammate, or a potential one. Deciding how he wanted to see how the other fared with hunting a target, he turned around, and started running off. Turning down one of the barely lit tunnels, he ran for a bit before stopping, and crouching low to the ground, wanting to seen if he'd be seen or not.

    Darius was slightly shocked that he had outright run off, but assumed there was meaning and motivation behind what he was doing. He was in a place he was familiar with, so surely David had reasons for what he was doing. After a moment of hesitation, he set off after him.

    The dim light definitely made things more difficult, and his eyes hadn't fully adapted. Had he had any metal on him? It was usually the glint of metal that gave people away in situations like these. Darius proceeded with caution anyway, after all, this could be a trap or ambush of some kind, he had to keep his guard up.

    Haha I know that duty, still better then having to clean out horse or chicken pens though! Alright, I don't mind one bit

    IC:
    He watched as the other blocked out the light for a moment or two, before creeping his way closer. He quieted his breath the most he could and watched. It was funny in a twisted way to him. An animal stalking it's prey would be a bad analogy, so maybe it was more like to story book assassin's stalking one another. That was probably a bad analogy too, he had read a story where two assassins feel in love, but one died at the end. It was rather upsetting to him, he had liked the pairing.

    Brining himself out of his thoughts, he watched the other pass him, and kept close to the walls, before moving after the recruit. He may have been bad at fighting, but give him stalking and he could make a wolf or a cat jump. David didn't bother to pull out any weapons, he just wanted to see how long this would go on for.
    ~~~
  • ( Yeah, I'd take it over sorting out my sister's horse any day! Finally on my laptop again, so I can make a half-decent post! )
    Was it an ambush? Probably not, he would have been struck by now if it was. So what was his plan? It would help to get inside his opponent's head, but for now, he continued creeping along, keeping an eye out for any movement. It really did remind him of a test he once had with his sister. Their father had pitted them against each other, saying that it was a race through the backstreets of Seoul, but they would get more 'points' if they tracked the other.
    So was it a trap of sorts? Potentially. So he cast his gaze around once more, catching sight of the other's pale hair. How hadn't he seen that before? Maybe his vision hadn't been fully adapted. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this a test of combat skill?" Darius said, relaxing slightly, but not completely letting his guard down.
    Haha, i guess you could call it a shitty job. Lol you were making decent post before!
    IC:
    He couldn't help but smirk as he kept stalking along, it was fun, he always enjoyed it. Such a weird thing to enjoy he guessed, but whatever. He smiled a little wider at being caught, and stood up completely, "Like I said before, I don't normally test fighting. You have a nice form when you run, but you should keep your legs just a tad closer." He said, sticking out his foot and moving his leg slightly more inwards. He then shrugged, "Plus I haven't done some stalking in a while, you were watching in front of you instead of the ground and the ceiling."
    He twirled his beater, "Other then that, I'd say you're fairly good. You've obviously had training or something." He purred out with a childish smile. "Come on, I haven't had dinner yet and the base should still be serving." He started to walk away, before he looked back, "Oh, you haven't got into the gang just yet, I'm only judging how you deal with chases and stalking. You did pretty good, others don't notice me until I get bored and smash their face into the ground."
  • ( haha yeah, and thanks! I call two paragraphs a decent post, but I used to post way more than that so it's a little disappointing to me when I don't, I guess? )
    "Yeah, you could say I've had a lesson or two like this before. Not pleasant experiences." Darius said, though the tone of his voice indicated he wouldn't be talking much more about it, his statement sounded quite final. Though he would take into account what the other had said, he wasn't that arrogant to think he was infallible. But in all, it seemed to be a success. "And I'm not one to turn down dinner, trust me." he joked, following the other, and slipping the knife back into his pocket - if this was something to get him to let his guard down, it had worked, but he was decent in hand-to-hand combat.
    Seems reasonable. I've never been good with being "semi-advanced to advanced" so I'm still kinda learning ahah.
    IC:
    He merely nodded, h wouldn't be the first to want to get away from their history. He was one of those, didn't want to turn into his dad, so he found another way to take out his anger. It wasn't any healthier, but he never hurt a loved one, at least, not out of practice. He was brought back from his short thoughts to hear this man's lovely voice. David merely chuckled, so it turns out this man wasn't all sticks and stones or piss and vinegar, he actually had a personality, a decent one by David's standards. Frowning slightly he looked down at him, "What's your name love? I never caught it."
    He stepped out of the tunnel, walking with the other at a calm pace, not in any rush. He decide he would try hand to hand combat once the other relaxed around him enough. It was always funny to see the reactions, once he had caught one guy completely off guard, and accidentally threw him into the sewer sludge. He couldn't recall a time he had laughed as badly as he did then. It was cruel, but it was funny.
    ~~~

  • He wasn't going to lie, the nickname 'love' wasn't often said in regards to himself, but in this instance it was, and a smile crept onto his face. He quite liked it, not that he would say that. "Name's Darius. Do I get to know yours?" he asked.

    (yikes rushed post, sorry.)

    Rip ahaha.
    IC:
    He let out a soft chuckle at seeing the smile, but he couldn't help himself at making a small noise of interest at the recruit's name. "I have the simple name of David. Nothing cool like Darius." He said with a small wink. He wasn't sure if the man he was dealing with was straight or not, but he always enjoyed flirting with the new kids, before he got to stalk them again.
    ~~~
  • Internally, Darius was screeching at himself. This was a bad path to fall down, and he knew it, after all, the last time he had let a pretty face distract him, it had been a bad idea that very nearly got him killed. Not to mention that it had factored into why he ran - therefore the sensible decision would be to not be influenced by however cute or hot he thought this guy was. Which he would heed for now.
    "Thanks, but Darius is one I chose. Makes it easier for westerners like you to pronounce." he admitted, certainly not giving away his real name at this stage, but he made a point in saying it at the very least. His real name was Xiaodan, one that had to have the right accents on the right letters and the correct emphasis. Or it meant a completely different word and he wouldn't respond to it. It had caused way to many issues for him to be bothered even trying at this point.
    (Okay so I think today was on off-day for muse, but I think I might have my writing mojo back again! Sorry this took so long!)
    Ahaah alrighty, glad you got your mojo back!
    IC:
    He looked fairly impressed, "Hmm, a new new guy eh? That's pretty cool, I've sadly never been out of country, but I thought it'd be cool to travel one day." He ran a hand through his hair, and loosened his tie, before pulling out a napkin from his pocket, and pressing it to his side to make sure the bleeding had stopped. "Why Darius? Just easiest to pronounce, yet still keeping to your roots? Or does it have some meaning that should make me even more afraid of you?" He asked with a gentle tease, still smiling.
    David's eyes then got wide, "Oops, shit, if I ask to many questions for your liking, tell me. I tend to get interested in certain people and sometimes ask so rather rude questions and such." He said with his typical nervous smile. Glancing at the napkin, he was relieved to find no blood had come from it, and that it didn't hurt. Now onto inspecting the jacket, he slipped it off, and looked at it carefully, glad to wasn't a bad cut or anything like that.
    ~~~

  • 'New' to America, yes, that he was. But he knew just about everywhere in East and South-East Asia, simply because that was where most of his father's business was conducted. "Essentially, yeah. And It's fine, I guess, what I don't like, I won't answer. I'm used to people being blunt about things." Darius explained, sending a cautious glance at the napkin. He was sure he hadn't hit anything essential, his worries only abated when the other started examining his jacket.

    Unless David had some odd priorities, he wasn't wounded too badly. Most injured people wouldn't worry about their jacket before themselves.

    He nodded, "Alright then, sounds good to me!" He put back on his jacket, smiling still, he wanted to see if he could possibly open this stranger up any more and learn a thing or two, but he knew he had to be careful in doing so. "So do you have a reason you chose this particular gang, or is that a no-no question?" David asked, glancing down at him.

    While the shorter male responded, he had decided he had waited long enough. Now was the time to strike. In one smooth and practiced fluent motion, he whipped his leg out from behind Darius, and went to hit him just above the knees. If it landed and the other fell, he would be on top of him moving are fast as he could. If he failed, he just hoped his leg wouldn't get broken depending on how he reacted.
    ~~~
  • ( mobile post, so I apologise in advance for any typos!! )
    He was about to answer when he saw the movement, and couldn't believe that the first thing he thought was traitor. As if he had done anything to ally himself in the first place. This was also what he meant when he shouldn't let a pretty face distract him - had he let his guard down completely, he wouldn't have seen the attack.
    He didn't have much time to do anything but try to block the attack with his arm, and try to put distance between them.
    Haha, don't sweat, I'm usually on my phone.
    IC:
    Watching the slight shift in the other's face as he attacked was actually just slightly amusing, but he kept it to himself. At feeling his foot hit his arm, he stopped himself, and pulled back, not actually wanting to cause any harm to him. "A little slow on the reaction time their love, but overall good." He purred out, walking ahead of him. David scratched his chin with a slight nervous jitter, thinking that Darius might get pissed enough to try and pull the same or a similar trick.
    "Sorry I had to do that, hopefully no bad feelings?" He asked, nonchalantly. To David, it was nothing more then a simple test, and he saw nothing wrong with it. But how the other felt... He hadn't had a clue.
    ~~~

  • "No, it's fine. Should have expected it, really." he replied. It was just another reminder that David wasn't just here to chat, a reminder he probably needed in all honesty.

    Darius wasn't one to hold petty grudges, but did decide that if he made it into the gang, he was paying David back for that sometime.

    But on another note, food had been mentioned before. "You did mention food though. Is it a front for the gang? I knew a gang in Seoul who used a restaurant as a front - a fancy kimchi place, that actually had the best kimchi. And they had decent prices on military grade knives." he said, adding the last sentence on after a short pause.

    He let out a small sigh of relief as he put his hands in his pockets, he didn't have anymore tricks up his sleeve, he saw what he had needed to see. Plus, he wasn't authorized to run anymore test without another person who was higher ranking then him, which was only a few. He shook his head, "No, we don't. It would be a fun investment though. Mm, imagine waking up to the smell of food, damn what a dream." Okay, so David had a slight desperate love for food, he was the kid who never really stopped eating, and still stood like a twig.

    He looked back down at Darius, still smiling, "What's kimchi? I've never heard of it before." He then stuck out his tongue at him, "And before you sass me, remember, I'm an ignorant american who really likes food, but is actually really nervous to try new things."
