she knew that perhaps it was improper to come at such an early hour, but the gift basket was a good excuse to take a walk at sunrise. the sky was always so beautiful as the sun began to fill the sky with magnificent light and life.

the leggy femme trotted along, a wicker basket clasped between her jaws. she'd been curious to see this skyclan, and the basket was yet another perfect excuse to take a small adventure away from her new home. though she liked to think she'd settled down forever, she was still a curious adventurer at heart, and these little trips satisfied the desire well enough.

so she sat at the border, basket beside her, waiting oh-so patiently.

  • RINGO | SKYCLAN

Ringo loved visitors. He saw it as a sign that his clan was growing - or at least becoming more noticeable amongst the others. The dark tom would glide down cheerfully, landing in front of the feline.
"Hello!" he would begin in his usually cheery manner, "I'm Ringo, nice to meet you! Could I have your name and business at the border of Skyclan territory?" He assumed she was here to offer gifts, judging by the basket beside her, though he couldn't be too sure. Making assumptions without a decent amount of knowledge on the matter just wasn't his thing.

// track, too rushed for even a decent post, sorry!

lacey smiled at the sight of the bird that landed before her, glad to see a friendly face. she understood an alliance as something of a friendship, though the degree was too difficult to communicate through the language barrier, and she thought of it as i'm automatically friends with all of the members, or at the very least she ought to be.

"ah, bonjour monsieur ringo," she purred, french accent thick and sweet like honey in tea, "i am lacey of palisadeclan - here to give the gift basket for the alliance." she explained, struggling to make her words fluent and not as broken as they often were. she wasn't very good at english; french, she could do all day, it was her native tongue. english was too foreign for her fancy, though she loved the lands the english speakers lived on very much.

  • RINGO | SKYCLAN

Ringo immediately noticed the French accent. He had always s enjoyed listening to French accents, though he couldn't always understand it. This time, though, it was clear enough for the tom.
"Thank you, Lacey!" he replied with a smile. He liked to repeat people's names after learning them - it helped him remember. "How has Palisadeclan been doing?"

she smiled widely at the male, a toothy, delighted sort of grin. "ah, very good monsieur - many joiners. all very lovely people. and our leader, mademoiselle lovelypaw, she likes to paint, as i do. i am among atrists, and it's delightful." she purred, nodding as she wrapped her tail around her paws. "and how is skyclan?"

  • RINGO | SKYCLAN

Ringo smiled back in an equally toothy and bright grin.
"It's been alright," he replied, "We've been pretty...inactive lately, but I'm sure it'll get better." He realized how many times he had that before with a pang of sadness. What if Skyclan never got better? No - that was silly, there were always new people in need of a home. And what better home was there than Skyclan, right? "Your accent is really pretty, by the way! I wish I could learn another language like you. I doubt I'd be able to decide which one to study, though." He let out a small chuckle, dipping his head to scratch his ear with one paw. It was true, he was a pretty indecisive guy.

"inactivity is a matter of opinion. if there is life, then it is active, yes?" the fem purred, ever the positive little ray of sunshine. after all, palisadeclan wasn't bursting with life - but it was enough for her.

at the compliment, lacey's grin widened, as it always did. she was a sucker for compliments; while not exactly vain, she was raised to appreciate the beauty of the world, and when anyone suggested there was such beauty regarding any part of her, she was always joyed and flattered.

"merci monsieur. you must certainly learn french, even if just a bit - you cannot go to paris if you do not speak french, and you have not lived until you've seen the starry nights of the city of love." she told him, the smile there still. soemtimes, she missed the beauty of the city - nothing could quite compare to sleeping on the eifle tower at night. but the forst and it's people came... close.

Ringo nodded with a dreamy smile. While he wasn't much for traveling, he loved to see the contrasts in different places around the world.
"Maybe you could teach me sometime, hmm?" And, while he wasn't much of an adventurer, he loved to meet new people. Learning a new language would definitely help with that, right? He wasn't sure if Lacey even wanted to teach him, so it was partially meant as a joke.
