    — WHAT IS ATYCHIPHOBIA?
    the fear of failure (also called "atychiphobia") is when a person is so scared of coming up unsuccessful that they stop themselves from doing the things that can move them forward to achieve their goals.


    — WHAT CAUSES IT?
    being unsupported, left hopeless, and/or undermined by others so much that the person begins to do it to themselves (self-degrading/self-deprecating). a traumatic event where their failure is prominent (ie, having to make an important speech and doing poorly) can also trigger this fear.


    — WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH FRISK?
    everything. frisk is the embodiment of determination, respectively. they are here to encourage people that everything can be okay/everything will be okay if they take a chance and move forward and even if it doesnt work out, they encourage that person to try again or try something new. they support people to reach their goals and to never give up. they are meant to be the exact opposite of this fear.


    — SO WHAT'S THE PLAN?
    well, what if someone installs a blossom of doubt in their mind? what if they try to help someone, but no matter their choices they end up failing that person anyways? it would make them think. it would make them begin to doubt their own ability to help people, and this would steadily begin to show in their choices. they might start to hesitate, to lose confidence in themself, and that will affect their choices, and that will lead to bad choices. this bad decision making will increase as they let down more and more people, constantly failing and disappointing them with their choices until finally- they dont make a choice. they're too scared to. they don't want to fail again, so they don't take the risk of failing again by never making a choice. they more or less give up. they become atychiphobic, but it wont stop there.


    the sight, a power that subconsciously blocks bad memories so that frisk is able to function and the metaphorical scale in their mind is "balanced", will be overloaded with all of these negative feelings and basically malfunction. unlike last time though, instead of the sight shutting down altogether it will try to reset the scale and begins blocking frisks good memories until all that is left are the bad ones.


    balance will be restored, but frisk will be "corrupted" or "ruined". frisk will be drawn to more violent and dingy places, places where failure or misery is constant. they wouldnt be the embodiment of determination anymore. they would be a physical example of the fear of failure, or atychiphobia and might fall under the alias of the latter.


    — WHAT CHANGES / WHAT DOESNT CHANGE?
    well, aside from the obvious, they're appearance might be updated to fit a more depressing look (ie, their eyes will darken to a deep gold or eery white, their fur will thin, they wont eat/will rarely sleep, and the flowers will definitely wilt from their body, unvealing the scars and infection beneath) and then there are their powers. time travel will be the only power that wont be affected by this transformation, but flowerprints will basically disappear, the sight will do the opposite of its original purpose, scent manipulation will make the stench of the infected wounds that they have increase tenfold and then their emotion manipulation (what originally gave them such a calming aura and presence) should now give anyone within a tenfoot radius an overwhelming sensation of desperation, doubt, and misery (unless they have powerful blocks in their own mind to thwart these emotions, or the other roleplayer just isnt cool with it). frisk will also be lured in by places or miserable events where this fear or fear in general is presented, and they actually manage to find solace and comfort in this (which absolutely mortifies them, that they're fear is soothed when others express their own fear). as a result, they might tend to trail after "Big Bads" and often be viewed as a minion of said Big Bad by outsiders.


    they still wont fight anyone, nor intentionally try to hurt someone (which is difficult, since their emotion manip should affect those near them) and they still have a good heart/soul- they are just overcome with an unsettlingly large dose of fear.


    — WILL FRISK EVER RETURN TO NORMAL?
    of course! like how the sight formerly worked to block bad memories, but couldnt completely erase particularly gruesome ones (ie, they can recall darkstalkers assualt and the mental torture he put them under, but these memories have been toned down so they are blurry and faded) it will now block good memories, but really great ones (ie, helping someone succeed) will stay with them somewhat. the more "great memories" they have, the quicker they are to returning to their normal state of mind (but of course, the more negative memories they have, the farther they drift away from ever returning to their old self).

    — phobias can be born, but they're usually made. (ie, frisk was 'born' of two phobias, so they technically have phobia blood in this dimension, but they only turned into atychiphobia after they thought they let down everyone; they didnt start out as a phobia, they just turned into one later).


    — phobias are basically parasites that attack the mind.


    — killing a phobia is pretty much impossible; you can kill its host, but not the phobia itself, (ie, killing mother wont make hylophobia go away; it would just look for a new body). the only way a phobia can "die" is if nobody is scared of it anymore (ie, everyone in the world isnt scared of dying or something) and since that is such a slim, p much impossible thing to do, a phobia might as well be considered immortal.


    — feral phobias are phobias that have lost any and all sense of humanity, and are mindless, generally malevolent creatures. the fastest way for a phobia to turn feral is if they commit/try to commit suicide.


    — a phobias strength depends on how feared that phobia is.


    — phobias strike fear in people for different reasons; they might feed off of their victims life forces (ie, mothernature), some feel stronger afterwards (ie, fathertime), and others are just looking for a way to get rid of the fear that now overwhelms them by dumping it on someone else (ie, frisk).


    — its weird for a phobia to be traveling alone; usually, a phobia latches onto someone and trails after them.


    — phobias are attracted to places where a lot of grief/misery/fear/pain happens, so they can almost always be found in an anticlan or a particularly violent neutralclan. its weird to see them in a proclan (unless, its an extremely miserable proclan).

    [center][fancypost=background-color:;border:0px;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;line-height:1.4;]FRISK DONATELLA-KOVIC-REAVER is the child of fathertime and mothernature, and the adopted child of artpop, sans, funhaus, and imperiousdevotions. they're a gentle but strongwilled individual who has a habit of biting off more than they can chew. frisk is a soft furred solid chocolate american bobtail with a web of scratches under their pelt and golden flowers embedded into their skin, notably thicker around their neck, collarbone, jawline, cheek and left upper thigh. a triangle has been branded into their left shoulder, but they wear a blue and purple striped turtleneck sweater to hide it. frisk and their partner, chara, erased their original world after realizing that there was no way to save it and the both of them were reborn into feralfront. currently frisk is coming to terms with their mistakes (in both this timeline and their old one) and are well on their way to turning into a full-fledged phobia like their birth parents (specifically atychiphobia, the fear of failure).

    [center][fancypost=background-color:;border:0px;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt;line-height:1.4;]MOTHERNATURE is the embodiment of hylophobia, the fear of nature and forests. shes a flirty, selfish bastard who shamelessly flaunts off her flaws and exposes others shortcomings. she's a cream colored tabby with rosybrown eyes and has an elegant ruby pendant necklace wrapped around her neck. mother is a phobia that feeds off of the life of others, usually when her victims are in a particularly pleasant or satisfied mood. recently, mother has decided to set up a prostitution ring called the "eat ur cake" services and is actively searching for recruits.

    [center][fancypost=bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; text-align:justify; borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-size:8; line-height:110%;][size=8]FATHERTIME is the physical representation of chronophobia, the fear of passing time. he's a hardened, bitter old man who snaps at anyone who so much as breathes in his general direction. he's a large, four-eyed samoyed with a thin layer of dust settled into his fur and a weathered satchel wrapped around his neck. fathertime has access to seeing several possible futures and timelines, but doesnt cherish this ability since he is shown dying in nearly all of them. he is a drifter, having no set home, and currently is passing through the clans without any set purpose other than to get stronger.
