  • [center][fancypost=width: 500px; text-align: justify]Sel had asked for him to find her after the meeting, and here he was. He'd brought along Trudy, though he doubted his pet would enjoy whatever Sel had in store; she'd been talking a lot about the new island and the creatures there, so she might also want to talk about that. Or maybe she just wanted to start training him, he didn't know.

Still, he was excited about whatever happened next. It'd been a long time since he'd taken up an apprenticeship with someone; he'd completed his studies with his old mentor nine months ago, and by that time he'd already started dating Mary.. Gods, he missed her. Maybe he'd be able to mention her to Sel as well, though he wasn't sure how she'd take the news that he was only in the Skulls to use their resources for his own means.

She did want to hear about his observations on the new creatures, but for now her main priority was getting the kid (kid, ha, he was older than her) trained. "Alright, Mal, we're gonna just get right into your training, if you don't mind. Mm, what to start with..."

Nico perked up his ears at Sel's words and tried to ignore the memories of Mary trying to distract him. He had to focus on his training; this was what was important, after all.

"I don't really know any of the basics beyond what you taught at the herb training, so we could start there." Nico said. He wasn't exactly sure what the basics were; maybe memorizing herbs? Learning how to treat minor wounds? He wasn't sure, but no matter what it was he'd do his best.

"Alrightie. Can you tell me what this is, or what you use it for?" She started with an easy one, using flower prints to grow marigold between them.
