He had regrets. Because of the way that he lived and the way that he acted, he had already lost so much that he had regarded to highly to him. Family and those that he cared about. Blueridge, Kunta, Strawberry. Elaine. They were gone, whispers in the wind as the breeze whistled through his fur, endlessly taunting him for his stupid actions. In a way, ever even getting close to them was his biggest regret because who was he to have responsibility? He was far to aloof and laid back for maintenance but he still found himself hung up on the pain of losing with his loved ones.
He found happiness in his misery however. He could move on as long as he forced himself to do so and it seemed that the most plausible option, no the only possible option, for him to take was to travel. To leave the places where he felt his heart start to ache. He could not face it because he had no one to face and he did not fancy getting angry or upset at something that he could no longer converse with. Instead, he would run, or well, a better word that run to describe his retreat would be float.
That would be his explanation, his excuse, for being so distant. He could not reforge relationships because he was a coward deep down and he knew it. He was afraid of it really. He was afraid of getting close before crushing expectations and becoming a false representation of someone's ideal friend. He would either want to be perfect to another or stay away from them. There was no in between right now for him. He could not deal with disappointment, both from him and being given to him.
The beach town full of it's vibrancy and no doubt its love had caught his attention a while off when he had spied it in the distance. He paused, lowering himself so that he was a bit closer to the ground in case there were any unfavourable beings nearby that would not take kindly to a floating felidae. This area had been the last place that the male had expected to find himself in but it brought some degree of joy to him nonetheless. After all, it was a beautiful, exotic place. Much like his own birth place. That was something that he did not wish to think about however and he was quick to suppress any surfacing memories that threatened to spill over and ruin this long, eternal vacation that he had embarked on. The tropical mountain range that he found himself nearing was a beautiful region and he was already convinced that he'd fuck something up here. The dark navy russian blue feline's lip curled up slightly and he looked away, the pillow he was sprawled on continued to move as he took a very brief moment to compose himself. He could not think so negatively when he was doing what he had decided was the best for himself. He had come to the conclusion that this was what he needed to do. He had upped and left and he now had to put up with the consequences.
He turned his gaze skywards, taking note of the orange sorbet sky sprawled out about him, the rich tones melting into a pale blue that rivalled his own. At least he had arrived here by morning. That was a relief. Chastiefol came to a halt, lifting himself up slightly on his pillow as he glanced around, still bobbing in the air before he decided that clear attentiveness was too much of a challenge and he flopped back down on the green leopard print fabric, chin resting on the edge as he hugged his front legs around the material. Someone would come along soon, probably on some sort of morning walk. He would just wait until then, he guessed. He was patient when it came to things like this anyway. He could wait all day.
