  • [center][fancypost=text-align:justify; width:400px]Well, it was that time of the day again. It had been a while since their last border patrol and the scent was likely wearing thin. Audenine figured it was high time for him to send out another one. He was getting quite bored of being in the camp, thinking to himself that he'd much rather be out and about somewhere on a patrol. In that case, he would join whoever else decided to go.

"I need a coupla volunteers fer a border patrol. We're hittin' up all o' the neighbourin' clans, so ya better be up fer some walkin'." It would be more efficient to send out several smaller patrols, but his clanmates would get less exercise that way. He'd also get to interact with more people that way - get to know their opinions on their duties... Such as going on patrols and talking to the other clans. That could be important later, he guessed.

  • Whitepaw walked up with a good attitude "May I go on the RiverClan patrol? I haven't done the RiverClan border in a while". The tom really liked the RiverClan border. It felt so calm and quiet. He wouldn't ditch ThunderClan for RiverClan. He just liked the area.

  • [center][fancypost=text-align:justify; width:400px]"Whoever comes over now is comin' 'round all th' borders with me. We'll hit up RiverClan's along th' way too, of course. Feel free t' come an' join me." Perhaps his call hadn't been clear enough. Oops. He would only be sending out one patrol, as to see his clanmate's limits and test how they reacted to each of their neighbouring clans, as well as how their neighbours reacted to them. He wanted to be there to witness the interactions, but couldn't exactly be three places at once, so one larger patrol would have to do. He, personally, was looking forward to passing the RiverClan border as well. If only because he would have the chance of seeing his mother there.

  • AS LONG AS I'M BY YOUR SIDE — branchpaw — trad. thunderclan — he/him

The sun-bathing tom lifted his head at the call of his new deputy, thinking about it for a few seconds before deciding that he needed the exercise. He would push himself to his feet before heading over to the two toms, a smile on his maw. "I hope you don't mind me coming along. It seems like a great chance to stretch my legs."

  • Snowpaw, had found herself pacing around the camp a bit. She'd been restless for the day, due to her not being involved in much training. The only duties she participated in for the day didn't require much energy. After hearing Audenine's voice, the she-cat's ears pricked up. A border patrol? Quickly, the white apprentice bounded over.

"I'd be interested in going!" Snowpaw, mostly due to her age, hadn't gone fully around the territory yet. She was interested in a border patrol, mostly because she was curious about seeing the borders of other clans, maybe even other clan cats. It just sounded exciting to her in general.

  • [center][fancypost=text-align:justify; width:400px]Three members had immediately ran over to join him, all still apprentices. Branchpaw and Whitepaw would be warriors soon, yes, but for the time being they still held the -paw suffix. The tom was surprised - he would've expected the apprentices to be the ones less excited to do their more mundane duties. The life of a warrior seemed to be glorified when told to kits, resulting in rebellious adolescents. Here, though, it seemed as if that wasn't the case. A small, grateful smile stretched across his face upon seeing the others step forward.

"Alright, all three of ya can come with me. We're gonna wait 'nother minute er so t' see if anyone else wants t' come." Hopefully they would be able to rope a warrior or two along with them. He didn't want the other clans to think that they had no fully trained members, after all. Plus, if the group was that small, they might end up having troubles defending themselves should anything go wrong... Eugh. He was not looking forward to patrolling SkyClan's border, but it wasn't like he could just avoid them forever. Maybe eventually he'd be able to restore relations with the neighbouring clan, even becoming their allies. Tatteredstar would probably have to die first, though...

  • "you're nervous about the SkyClan border aren't you?" Whitepaw asked. Whitepaw understood that the deputy was a former member of SkyClan. "I'm sure you still have friends there" the white tom said. Whitepaw knew it must of been hard for the deputy to leave his clan behind for another. Must have been harder for Wasppaw and Tatteredstar.

  • [center][fancypost=text-align:justify; width:400px]Was he nervous? Yeah. Who knew how Tatteredstar would react? Would anybody even bother showing up to meet them? Maybe they'd be lucky and not cross anybody on their way by, but Aud honestly doubted that would happen. Maybe he was being pessimistic, but after having seen the look on Tattered's face when the now-deputy left SkyClan... He doubted any reaction would be positive.

"Guess I am. Tatteredstar wasn't the most acceptin' of my leaving, but I wasn't 'bout to go an' defy StarClan..." The apprentice's mention of friends made Audenine's right ear flick, his tail tip curling. Friends... No, he had no friends in SkyClan. He wasn't particularly close with anyone there, now that he thought about it. "Not really. None of 'em seemed to be that int'rested in befriendin' me. I was just sorta there as their medicine cat.... 'S'all over now, though, no need to dwell on it." Of course, he would continue to dwell on it, overthinking every action any SkyClanner had ever done in his presence, but he wasn't just going to let his new clanmates in on that. "'Sides. I've only been here for a short while anyways an' I'm already feelin' more welcome."

  • Snowpaw gave a small nod in response, just to show understanding. The she-cat just sat down for the time being, despite her earlier restlessness. She was curious if anyone else was going to join them. After all, there were only four of them going on the border patrol so far. She glanced around the camp, curious to see if she could find anyone. Although, she hadn't noticed anyone who seemed interested yet. Her gaze drifted towards Whitepaw when he spoke up - Skyclan? Oh right, Audenine was a part of Skyclan. She watched as Audenine spoke as well. She didn't quite realize his emotions towards his past clan, though.

"Well, we are pretty welcoming here in Thunderclan!" Snowpaw decided to butt in the conversation. She was pretty prideful of her clan, anyway. She wasn't afraid to show it. Although, she knew barely anything about the other clans so far. She was oblivious to the events and to how the other cats acted. As far as she was concerned, Thunderclan was the only clan that mattered.

  • [center][fancypost=text-align:justify; width:400px]"So I've noticed," came his reply, amusement tinging his words and letting the others know that he felt welcome, even if a member or two were disapproving of his instant promotion. That was all said and done, though, something that wouldn't change for some time, unless Stoneface eventually decides she found somebody that fit the bill better than the classic tabby himself did.

A quick glance around showed that nobody else seemed to be approaching. Audenine felt it was best to get the patrol going sooner rather than later, lest they fall behind schedule or the other clans think that ThunderClan has put off marking their borders. "Alright, we're gonna get goin' now. We're stoppin' by RiverClan first, then makin' our way over to ShadowClan, then finally SkyClan b'fore returnin'." With that, as well as a quick tail gesture, Aud would stand from his position and pad towards the camp entrance.

/i've gone ahead and made the riverclan thread, if anybody wants to make the shadowclan or skyclan one feel free!

  • [center][fancypost=width:430px;text-align:justify;overflow:hidden]scarce as he'd been lately, addercry couldn't possibly turn down an offer to go on a patrol with their lovely turn-tail of a deputy. what kind of warrior would he be if he did that? lumbering up to the collective group of clanmates both new and old, the van would stare blatantly at audenine, eyes sharp in the metaphorical sense as well as physical, pupils having gone to near slits due to the light filtering into them between fingers of oak deities above.

roseate skin played brightly against an otherwise barren pelt of glacial white, scars rippling over flesh that'd healed from the sears of liquidated fire. ever since the wound mended itself, the masc had been pushing himself to get back into the field. granted, adder had milked it for all it was worth when he was out of commission. when that excuse fell flat due to being back in shape, however, the red and white feline had thrown himself into his pushy ways once more.

finding out that audenine had joined their ranks during his downtime had left a sour taste in his mouth. finding out audenine had become deputy of all cats in their clan . . . well, he'd have rather eaten a day's worth of prey gone bad over the feeling he'd gotten. it hadn't been pretty, that was for sure. had he attacked the deputy? no. had he hurt anyone? surprisingly, that too was a no. had he yelled? of course he had. everyone had likely heard that little fit.

"yeah, we might be too welcoming," came his gruff two cents. the meaning was hardly hidden. in a way, it was almost as if he were putting his disliking of the maine coon on display. "guess you can count me in as a late member. better go along to make sure you friendly mousebrains don't waddle over the border to pick flowers with the other clans." and, before objection could be raised at his tagging along, the warrior started off with a slump in his shoulders and a scowl on his maw.

  • [center][fancypost=text-align:justify; width:400px]Ah, yes, another member who wasn't fond of him. At least this tom had the guts to talk to him instead of just giving his new clanmate the cold shoulder. Audenine felt the urge to defend himself grow stronger, his skin heating beneath his pelt. The young tom, only two moons older than the turkish van, resisted the urge by letting out a quiet sigh. "C'mon, then." He would do his best to remain civil on the patrol, saving any outbursts for future confrontations. They needed to get this task done before anything else. Petty squabbles could wait.
