  • The air was warm and clear today, and the avian creature was not going to waste it. Thermal drafts were plentiful as she circled around the BlizzardClan islands, a leather bag hanging around her neck. Today was the day she was going to go around and look for a place to work with her materials - metal, stone, glass - just so she could keep her claws busy. Noelani dove down alongside the stream of water pouring from the cloud forest-biome island, wings extending with a whoosh to catch a thermal updraft that would keep her afloat as she searched. She didn't exactly yearn to enter the tangle of trees that was the cloud jungle, nor the marshy wetness of the wetlands, so instead she chose to go to the tundra island.

The moment her talons touched down, Noelani shivered, plumage fluffed up to at least give her some protection from the biting air. She looked around; it was pretty barren, the icy ground only interrupted by the occasional twisted tree, clump of stubborn grass, or rocky ledge. "Good," she muttered to herself. It was reassuring that if she went a little... overboard, that it wouldn't be too catastrophic. The creature sat and pulled off the bag around her neck, digging into it and pulling out a few scraps of metal, and broken fragments of glass. She broke off a few dry branches from the stubborn flora and started a spark with it, letting the fire grow. She rubbed her claws together giddily and took the pieces of glass, each about the side of one of her claws, and started to use the fire to meld it together. It took a bit, since her mind was a little scattered at the moment, and for a bit she thought that the glass would shatter right in her face and explode everywhere with the heat. Admittedly, that had happened before, so she leaned back just in case. She brightened as it started to meld together, and as she ran the smooth part of her claw over it, the glass smoothed over. She carefully set it down and scooped snow over it, watching with satisfaction as a hiss and steam arose from the mound.

He had been observing from afar from when the avian creature first started the fire. Mieczyslaw had no real reason to be in the tundra biome aside from checking if someone had gotten lost in there. Anyway, the pale femme obviously looked at ease and seemed to be crafting something? That wasn't the normal behavior of a lost creature, good news. Making his way towards the blazing fire, the kitsune would peer curiously at the steaming pile of snow. "What's that?" The apprentice would query, returning his pale amber gaze to the avian's face. She looked familiar, after all who could forget such an unique appearance like that, but the kid wasn't sure of what her name was.

[center]THERE'S A FIRE THAT BURNS INSIDE

  • [center][fancypost=borderwidth=0px;text-align:justify;width:475px]Much like Miecyslaw, Elliot had no true reason to be within the bitingly cold biome, but he happened to be nearby. The ground was incredibly difficult to walk upon, especially with the pain shooting through his paw with each and every step. Occasionally, he slipped on the icy ground, but managed to remain upright. How he had done so was a complete mystery to him, but he knew better than to complain. He trailed along behind the other male, wondering where exactly he was headed. The faint scent of fire wafted through the air the closer they both grew to Noelani, which meant warmth. With a slightly labored breath, Babe began to quicken his pace in order to be beside Mie as he arrived at the blaze, and the avian perched near it. "Shit, it's cold," Elliot muttered inaudibly, shuffling toward the fire, somewhat hesitantly. His honeyed gaze remained on the fire. The flames licked the sky; he believed it be a rather appealing sight. After a few silent moments, aside from the blaze crackling, Babe glanced up to look between the two already settled there. "I'm Babe," he hastily introduced, lifting his shoulders and scrunching them closer to his body. His lips curled back into a slight frown, thin and hardly noticeable. They didn't seem to be having a discussion with one another, but that was due to the fact that Miecyslaw had only presented himself seconds before. The red-hued wolf shifted, moving to press more weight down on his better feet and haunches.

"Uh, what're you guys doin' here?" Elliot found the query to be a bit foolish to ask, considering he too was there. His accent caused his voice to sound higher than he initially meant it to, but there was little he could do to alter it. Compared to his own, the others' voices were either deeper, or around the same pitch. Fortunately, Babe didn't sound feminine, which he was grateful for. His gaze eventually followed Mie's, to wherever he happened to be staring. Noelani had been crafting an object, but he had no knowledge or awareness of what it was. He could make out that it was made of glass, formed by the avian, perhaps because of the fire. Glass was fragile, though, so it would simply break, wouldn't it? If Elliot had been given the trinket, he would have broken it in a matter of moments within the time receiving it. The canine observed it for a few seconds longer before lifting his gaze to Noelani, and Mie.

  • Noelani looked up from staring at the mound of snow - she had settled to doing that, since she didn't rally have much to do but wait. The two other BlizzardClanners in front of her she had never seen, but that didn't matter; the clan was much butter than the Rift, and it was taking a bit of getting used to.

At the similar questions she would dig around in the mound of snow and pull out the disk of glass, peering through it. She would also hold up the metal scraps, the disk looking small in her talons. "Tools were... lost on travels. Making new magnifying glass." She chirped in her usual, broken way of speaking. At the sight of the second newcomer shivering, she tilted her head, looking at the stunted scrubs nearby. "Could get more wood, bigger fire?" She suggested with a toothy smile, taking one last stick and poking it into the fire. "Apologies; I N-.... I am Noelani." The avian got to her talons - after putting down the disk and metal, of course - and swept one wing out in a clumsily executed but practiced little bow.

  • ...Çelina

As some of the other islands warmed up for the beginning of spring, Çelina found herself present on the colder ones more often. After all, her pelt was thick and built to handle the Tundra, so she felt more comfortable here than in the sweltering heat. Today, she had been practicing her drawing without the presence of a model or reference. The canine was now heading home, her sketch journal tucked safely back in her satchel, when she spotted the three. Approaching in time to hear Noelani explain what she was doing and introduce herself, she offered the other a smile. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Çelina." Then, after looking at the piece of glass in Noelani's claws, she continued. "You made that?" she asked, sounding impressed. "What else can you make?"
    [center]But She Pressed On...

  • Noelani beamed at the newcomer who introduced herself as Çelina, inclining her head to the arctic canine. At Çelina's queries, she paused, then looked around as if she needed something to demonstrate. "Just made something new - one moment... Oh! Right;" she chirped, holding her talons out as she (with some difficulty) conjured a new, one sided blade, engraved with a loopy, cursive "N" near the shiny fingerguard and leatherbound grip. "Lots of weapons. This is most recent - just made in weekly task in Rift! Big fireplace there, good for making weapons." She grinned toothily, sticking the sword in the snow and conjuring another weapon - a spear made of brass, with a gleaming silver point that was engraved with designs of vines. She frowned at it, and it seemed topheavy in her claws. "This one much older, will remake someday. Just for practice."

He hadn't been aware of the wolf, the vulpes had been to focused on whatever Noelani was doing to realize. It was a bad sign, honestly. If he was in unfamiliar territory, there would have been a chance that he'll be attacked. And considering how his first and hopefully last assault went, Mieczyslaw wasn't very interested in getting fucked up again. Hell, his leg hadn't even healed completely from the last time. Anyway, the kitsune would offer canine a friendly glance when he realized there were three creatures in the area.

Their name was Babe, wasn't that interesting? He had thought it was a term of endearment or something patronizing, but he wasn't completely sure. And he couldn't really judge considering how unpronounceable his full name was. Before he could introduce his own name, the avian creature would begin to speak. Her sentence patterns were quite curious, he wondered if she spoke any other tongue more fluently than English. He would nod knowingly as she explained her works. Wasn't that a cool kind of craft? The kid was sure that no one else in Blizzardclan did anything like that.

"It's nice to meet you both, I'm Mie," the apprentice introduced himself to the two promptly after taking a good look at Noelani's latest craft. "How'd you learn to do that?" He would then query, peering at the other objects that the avian had created prior to this date after Celina arrived. But enough of looking, he remembered Noelani's request for more burnable items. He quickly snagged a few sticks from nearby, placing them at the girl's feet talons before tuning into the conversation once more.

[center]THERE'S A FIRE THAT BURNS INSIDE

  • Noelani turned to grin at Mie as he brought the wood, taking it with a grateful nod as she put them into the fire, adding another burst of heat by letting a tongue of flame spurt from her jaws. After a moment of coughing from the smoke, she cleared her throat to answer his question. "Well... Long story." She motioned for them to sit, continuing even if they did so or not. "Didn't always have fire. Woke up one day, and it hurt. Took but to know what it was, eventually knew. Found a teacher, and they helped. Found out that to keep it under control, have to use it often - like letting out steam. Much easier than when I started! Used to burn down things always. Have habits of picking barren places to work, now." She motioned around them to the snow and bitter cold, and then back down at her fire. "Now, always sleep by forge. Will make better one here later, but in case, I sleep without trees. Less to burn. Just in case." She repeated again, shrugging.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Through her Super Senses, she had noticed that one of her sons was in the tundra biome, an unusual place for BlizzardClanners to commonly frequent. Teleporting over to the area to see what was up, the BlizzardClan leader suddenly appeared out of thin air, somewhere near Mieczyslaw and Babe. She glanced around at her clanmates - the others present being Çelina and Noelani. "You make things?" she looked over at the avian creature's new creations. "You should talk to Germanicus sometimes," the Targaryen recommended. "I think he has an interest in things like these." It was growing a bit chilly, but Sweetophelia wasn't too terribly bothered - seeing as she had lived in BlizzardClan for so long.
