  • It was another early morning trip for the avian creature, but this time she came with more gadgets to occupy her time. She brought her trusty puzzle ball - but she had solved that a day ago - and something similar to a rubix cube, a fidget cube, and something roughly the size of a watch that she kept clicking. Bright bird-like eyes kept watch on the horizon as she fidgeted, replacing each gadget with another that was stored in the new knapsack she had strapped across her long neck. Noelani hummed as she flew, cream-hued wings extended to glide as she clicked her teeth together absently, navigating more by sense of air flow than anything - she didn't know if that even counted as navigation. It wasn't like she could ask anyone for directions.

Serpentine, feather-plumed tail waggled behind her, changing her direction to fly under the cloud cover. A shape loomed in the distance, and she lifted her head from her busy talons to peer at it, her interest piqued. Usually that only happened when there was an anomaly, or something shiny, or metal, but it was certainly the first option. The shape gradually took on the form of a... "Staircase!" The creature squawked, circling close to pick at it with one claw. "Nice stone! Good, very good! Good stairs!" She appraised with a pleased expression. She looked upward, to where the staircase led, peering skyward and taking a leap off of the stone to start to ascend. Wings beating the clouds to wisps as she flew upwards, Noelani shivered as condensation gathered on her wings, but her the uncomfortable feeling evaporated with the droplets once she cleared the crowd cover and gaped up at the floating archipelago above her.

"Magic! Islands! Very pretty!" She cried, and a broad grin graced her features. She circled closer, over the mountains, towards the wooded one in the middle. She gawked at the wooden bridges connecting them as she touched down, tapping her claws together with an amused expression. "Hello! Noelani, Riftian! Came for dual membership. Heard of magic islands - very nice!" The avian said with a smile, craning her neck to look around. If she could speak normally, she would be saying a lot more, but right now she was awestruck, and somewhat intimidated.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]It was fortunate that Sweetophelia had Super Senses as the BlizzardClan leader was able to see and hear Noelani even before the unusual-looking avian creature flown down to join them on land. Teleporting over to the site where Noelani landed, Sweetophelia gave her a quick look-over. A Riftian who wanted a dual membership. They had been getting many of those, hadn't they? Olive, Jerseyboy (although he was now living in BlizzardClan full time), and now Noelani. But of course, Sweetophelia didn't mind - not only was the Rift a new ally, but she only ever took issue if the request had come from an enemy, such as the Cartel or the Exiles.

She hoped Noelani might meet her deputy, Mack, at some point. He wasn't a pure bird, seeing as he was a hybrid mix between macaw and dog, but perhaps Noelani and he had something in common. Of course Noelani didn't exactly look to be one-hundred-percent bird either, or if she was, she didn't look any breed of bird Sweetophelia had ever come across before in the past. Overall, birds weren't very common in the clans, so they were always a rare sight. So, Sweetophelia approached the newest member of BlizzardClan with a smile. "Of course, you're welcomed to a dual membership - your leader actually holds a dual membership with us as well." Although Olive had taken the dual membership before becoming leader of the Rift. "We're happy to have you -I'm Sweetophelia Targaryen. You said your name was 'Noelani' right?"

  • Noelani turned to face the approaching leader, peering down at the feline with wide eyes. "Thank you! Yes, Noelani. Long flight, worth it. Very nice islands." She chirped out, vaguely dinosaur-esque body relaxing as Sweetophelia spoke. "Excited to be here! Very unique, nice weather. Brought gifts!" Noelani opened her knapsack, pulling out some small knives she had managed to make without her forge, and about a dozen puzzle balls. "Apologies - very fun to make." She grinned, twisting one.

  • [center][fancypost= bgcolor= opacity: 0.5; borderwidth=0px; width: 450px;][font=times new roman][align=justify]Pierce arrived after Sweetophelia, placing himself beside the leader with a brief smile her direction before focusing on Noelani. She seemed nice, which immediately made him like her. Grinning at the newcomer, he dipped his head in greeting. She was from the Rift? That would be their third Rift member - Olive, Olive's son (which Pierce still found a bit odd, but whatever) Jerseyboy, and now this girl Noelani. Sweet.

A purr rumbled from the serval's throat at the compliment about the islands - he liked them too, and was glad to see a joiner so excited about them. "Nice to meet you, Noelani! My name's Pierce, I'm the vice-leader here. Thanks for the gifts, they look really cool!" He wasn't sure what they were, but it was true - they did look cool. "Do you need anything? I could get you some water, or maybe find you a hut to stay in? Or I could take you to have a look around the territory." He'd like to get to know this creature better; maybe they could be friends.

  • Noelani then turned to smile at Pierce, clacking her talons together with a pleased expression. "Good! Good that they are good." She chirped with a grin. "Nice to meet you! Tours - tours are good. Nice. Want to see more." She bubbled, gesturing around broadly to probably mean all of it. "How does... islands work?" The creature struggled out, scrunching up her nose as she spoke to look like she ate a lemon whole.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Sweetophelia's pale lilac eyes flickered over to Pierce as her vice-leader approached, a silent acknowledgement in her pale lilac gaze before she turned her focus back onto the newest member of their clan, Noelani. "Oh, thanks for the gifts." The gifts were a nice gesture, weren't they? Sweetophelia had never seen a new member who had brought gifts with them before. Already Noelani seemed unique and interesting. "Oh, what is this?" the BlizzardClan leader wondered aloud, looking curious as she held up a puzzle ball. When Noelani spoke up with a question however, Sweetophelia was not entirely certain how to answer her. "How do the islands work? Well to be honest, our best guess is that there's an old magic keeping them afloat - one day they just appeared in our territory without warning, probably a gift from the Star Council." They were certainly more real to her than StarClan.

    WE'LL FIND A WAY — olive — the rift & blizzardclan — she/her — tags

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 75%; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Like Pierce said: three Rifters. What, was she a big fat red magnet or something? Everyone was attracted to her? "Hello, Noelani. Welcome to BlizzardClan." Her tail wagged. She liked Noelani. Although a bit odd, she was curious and energetic. Good traits in the Paladin's eyes.

  • Noelani beamed as the leader spoke, looking down at the puzzle ball she held, and then at the one in her own talons. "Twist to solve - nice to keep busy. Helps to concentrate." She explained briefly, holding up her own and giving it a little twist and rotating the tiles. Her puzzle ball was a little shoddier than the ones she had just given away, but that was because she used hers so much - it was a much older model, anyway.

The blacksmith nodded as the leader spoke again, explaining the magic of the floating islands. "Star... Council." The creature mimicked. "Oh! Star Council gives - like the gods! The gods are good. Star Council is good." She beamed in a brilliant display of connective thinking. Sarcasm, even in an inner monologue, was funny. At least, to herself.

"Ms. O!" Noelani chirped, smiling widely as the feline approached. "Good! Good, good, nice to see you!"

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Twist to solve? It seemed far easier said than done, especially because Noelani seemed to have used her own puzzle ball (which appeared quite worn and used) so often. But Sweetophelia was willing to give it a try. "Thanks," the BlizzardClan leader nodded slowly to the avian-like creature, twisting her ball a few times quite uselessly as she had yet to develop a workable strategy behind her moves.

"Yes, I suppose so," Sweetophelia agreed politely, hiding her true feelings. Her father had been striped of his leadership in BloodClan by the Star Council and Sweetophelia had never been satisfied by his fate, despite the fact that she had never once had the chance to actually meet Domeric. Her pale lilac eyes shifted to Olive then as the BlizzardClan Paladin quickly approached their small group. Oh yes, hadn't she asked the Rifters to call her "Ms. O"? As Sweetophelia recalled hearing, Olive had told her in the past that it was the name all agents of the Odd Squad took on when they ascended to leadership. She was surprised to see that Olive was still being referred to as "Ms. O" in the Rift if she had changed her name from "Agent Olive" in BlizzardClan to simply "Olive".
