    He had saved Wasppaw?

He was confused though he didn't question it too much but instead, he twitched his whiskers using one of his own paws to wipe away the tears from his eyes sniffling quietly despite how he flinched suddenly feeling the other tom's head near his chest causing the smaller mottled tom to grow embarrassed. What if Wasppaw heard how much his heart was racing? He hoped not though he realized how the other told him not to apologize, it made a small frown start tugging at his maw as he sniffled only giving a nod of his cranium thinking over what would happen now. Surely, he'd go home and be stuck in a den with Jaggedsight, which wouldn't be bad but he didn't want to go back to Shadowclan. He didn't want to give Locustpaw the benefit of being right, he had nearly been killed due to his disability, he released a shaky breath and then his sister, Wolfpaw, what would become of her? What would she think of him for deserting her? Just to go see a boy? He noticed that he didn't regret it for Wasppaw was not just any boy, he swallowed dryly nibbling on the inside of his right cheek feeling a sandpaper like tongue lick his cheek and the very next words made his heart flutter within his chest. He was glad that he was alright, safe even and Batpaw could say the same. "Thank you for saving me," Something about that made him feel like a weight was removed off of him as he aimed to press his nose to Wasppaw's nose releasing a rusty purr "A-and thank you for s-saving me. . ."

He still pondered over what they'd do and if the fox was gone, he noticed the silence as well as the movement detecting that something was wrong. He had heard a tearing sound thus he started growing worried for the Medicine cat wondering what the fox had taken from him, he swallowed dryly wanting to see what it was but he didn't want to accidentally infect it because of his idiotic antics. He realized something else, how his Shadowclan scent was slowly fading from his short furred coat and how Skyclan was mingling with the remnants of his old clan. He almost didn't want to go back home because of it, surely, Loststar would be disappointed as well as angry for Batpaw sneaking off to meet another apprentice and nearly dying in the process. He had been hurt enough there, hell, he had forgotten to cover the wound on his flank too. He felt slightly self-conscious of himself though he glanced up hearing what the Skyclanner had said about the fox being gone and heading home, he felt as if a frog was stuck in his throat for a brief moment. Until he heard the others words did it make him blink his heterochromatic eyes at him, a bit surprised and relieved. Maybe he wouldn't have to go home without feeling taunted by Locustpaw and Autumnpaw, the thought was comforting and he wouldn't argue. At the last question, he blinked a few times only to answer "I t-think I c-can. . ."

Was this a chance? A chance to live with someone who understood him and appreciated him?

He hoped so, he really did hope so. . .

He had fallen too hard for the other apprentice.
