Death leaned down, his hood almost brushing Evangeline's face. "You do not fear death young one? Your time passed so quickly for you, yet you still want to go back. Why would I grant you that honor?" He asked, his voice seemed to resound all around the two as he spoke. He had to admit, this soul fascinated him. Few dared to even look his way let alone speak to him.

Evangeline resisted the urge to step back, too proud to do such a thing. "I'm already dead, why should I fear death?" She countered. "I'll make a deal with you." She added, figuring she should answer his question. All thoughts of the surrounding souls had left her mind.(c)trexgirl

"A deal? What could you offer to me mortal? You have nothing I want." Death almost laughed in the girl's face. He never made deals, no one dealt with death. She was certainly an interesting one, he'd have to keep an eye on her.

"What about if I was alive again. I could help you from there." She offered. She figured if she started he would tell her what he wanted from her so she could go back.(c)trexgirl

Her offer made Death pause. A living human under his will? The concept was...tantalizing. However, there was one thing he needed. "Your deal pleases me Evangeline. I will send you back to your world, though I will take a piece of your soul. Through it I can speak with you directly and even control you. It will allow me to enter your realm as well. Do you agree to my terms?"

Evangeline nodded in agreement as she fought to keep her satisfied smile off her face. She had successfully struck a deal with Death to allow her to come back to life. "I agree to your terms." She spoke confidently.(c)trexgirl

Death chuckled to himself. This girl had no idea what he had planned for her. He reached out his hand to Evangeline. "Take my hand young one, it's time for you to return to your world. I have work for you to begin." He said, inwardly smirking at his plan. Finally he could return to the mortal world!

The red haired young woman didn't hesitate as she went to take his hand. She was getting what she wanted, but she hadn't thought much on what it was he would want from her. She hadn't really thought she'd make it to making a deal with him.(c)trexgirl

The reality around the pair seemed to bend then reform into various shapes and colors. Traveling dimensions was so calming to Death. He never did it often enough. He was ready though, undoubtedly the mortal world had changed since he last walked upon it. He prepared himself for anything as the travel ended and he stepped out of the portal right next to Evangeline's body.

Traveling back to her world was very disconcerting for Evangeline, but it wasn't as bad as her soul returning to her body. Clear blue eyes opened and a small groan escaped her lips. She was back in her formerly illness filled body.(c)trexgirl

Death observed Evangeline as she woke from her 'sleep.' He chuckled to himself before he made a startling revelation he looked at himself in confusion. His cloak hung loosely on his body as he observed human hands, HIS hands, poke out from the sleeves of the cloak. "Hm, a side effect of the soul perhaps?" He muttered to himself as he examined his right hand. He also noted he had a mouth now, thankfully his voice was almost the same.

Evangeline sat up slowly, wincing slightly as her body didn't want to cooperate. But she didn't seem to mind really, and instead turned her attention to Death. "I didn't think you'd follow me here. At least, not looking like you could be a human." The red haired girl commented, clearly not bothered by the fact that he was there.(c)trexgirl
-
"The human aspect is the only part that surprises me." Death replied, watching his pale hand move and flex. "Is there a mirror here? I'm curious what I look like in this form." He asked, glancing at Evangeline. Indeed this outcome was most unexpected. He never thought a small piece of a mortal soul would cause such a change. It fascinated him to be honest.

Evangeline raised her eyebrow as she looked at him. "How would I know? I was dying the last time I was here." She pointed out before looking around curiously. She found it a bit odd that she didn't feel much different despite knowing he had a piece of her soul. "There." She pointed, although her thoughts were more focused on how long she had been dead. She didn't know how differently time moved when you were dead.(c)trexgirl

Death looked in the mirror curiously. His face matched his hands' unnatural paleness. Short midnight black hair covered his heads, only a few centimeters above his eyes. He certainly wasn't fully human, his dark grey eyes glowed slighlty as he stared at himself. "Not bad I suppose." He said, watching his mouth move as he spoke. "This will certainly take some getting used to." He added, glancing around the white hospital room. "Your body was still here, not much time has passed then." He said after a moment of thought. Death looked over at Evangeline. "How does it feel? Being alive again?" He asked curiously.

"A bit weird." She admitted, looking at her still sickly pale skin. "I feel weak again, but considering the fact that I died because I was sick I didn't expect much different." Evangeline admitted, watching Death curiously wondering why he only looked partially human. "Not enough time has passed for it to seem completely unlikely that I didn't actually die?" She questioned, wondering how she would explain this to her family.(c)trexgirl
-
"Perhaps. I admit I am unfamiliar with modern medical practices. Although I doubt they would have left your body if they had discovered it." Death replied, glancing through the window of the room out into the parking lot at the night sky. "It's likely the staff haven't checked on you yet." He added hopefully, looking down at the metal boxes with scrutiny. What even were those? His thoughts were halted as he heard the door being unlocked. He quickly hid in the bathroom of the room as the door to the room opened.

Evangeline's gaze was still on the bathroom door when the door to the room opened. She was a bit curious as to everything around her, she didn't really remember getting to the hospital this time, and it had been made clear that Death didn't know quite where she was. But her head turned sharply to see whoever had entered.(c)trexgirl

The old nurse seemed surprised that Evangeline was awake. She smiled comfortingly as she walked to Evangeline's bed. "I didn't think you'd be awake dear. Your family is still asleep in the waiting room. How are you feeling, do you need anything?" The nurse asked as she checked the various equipment and machines surrounding the bed.
Death peeked at the nurse from a crack in the doorway. Atleast it seemed they didn't know Evangeline had died. It made things much easier. However he was still stuck in this tiny room until the nurse left.

The girl shook her head slightly as she slowly laid back in the bed, relieved that it seemed nobody had noticed her die. "I feel fine... When did I get here?" She asked, allowing confusion to show on her face. Although it might not seem that way, she had lived this scene before. Waking up in a hospital room with no memory of it before. She had been sick for a while before she had finally died.(c)trexgirl
