Evangeline laughed softly. "No, she's sweet!"

Death rolled his eyes playfully. "Alright, but don't be surprised when she learns to hold a knife. I've seen it happen too, terrifying."

Evangeline looked to Gaia. "You're my sweet little helper, aren't you?"

Gaia seemed to nod in response, clapping her leaves together excitedly.

Evangeline gave another delighted laugh. "See!"

"Of course, as long as you train her right she'll be whatever you want her to be." Death nodded, a small chuckle escaping him.

Evangeline smiled as she gazed at her. "This is amazing..."

Death shrugged in reply. "Eh, she's just like a pet." Gaia waved her leaves angrily at this.

Evangeline frowned slightly. "No, she can understand what I'm saying and respond! And learn."

"Indeed she can, great potential lies in these creatures. Especially if you make one into your Familiar." Death smiled slightly, she was cute when she was angry.

Evangeline looked at her curiously. "Familiar?"

"Yes of course. You see, some mages have favorite creatures that they imbue with their own magical power. The creature becomes a powerful ally in just about anything, that's a Familiar." Death explained, gesturing with his hands.

Evangeline nodded slowly. "Ohhh."

"Yep, the creature becomes much more powerful as well of course." Death added after a small moment of thought.

Evangeline nodded slowly. "Well, I don't need to be more powerful."

"Of course not, that's why you keep me around eh?" Death wrapped an arm around Evangeline.

Evangeline laughed softly as she leaned into him. "You have saved me." She agrees. "But we're safe now."

"Mhm, safe from anything really. Except time of course, however maybe one day I can grow powerful enough to even keep that at bay." Death mused jokingly.

Evangeline gave a small laugh, although she gazed at Gaia as though she could keep her thoughts at bay.
