The Butterfly's Parter (pafp - gxb)

Muse A and Muse B both have powers. They both live in a complex, built to be like an indoor town, meant to house people like them. It is complete with small apartments for each individual, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The thing is, everyone has to pay in some way to work there. The most common way is to work as an agent, having to fight and recruit people to protect the complex. They go on missions, some of them being peaceful, while others are violent. Each person who goes on missions is partnered up with someone, in order to make it easier for them.
Muse A and Muse B happen to be partners. Muse A is a more peaceful person, who doesn't seem to fit in with the whole agent thing. They don't like using their powers to hurt anyone, often trying to think their way out of a situation. Muse B is a lot more of a brute, often using their powers to fight. They don't seem to care if they hurt anyone, despite them still using their powers for good. They are quickly partnered up, briefly having to know each other before they start their first missions. As their missions go on, they begin to grow close and develop feelings for each other. They don't admit it, and the most they'll do is some flirting, hugging, etc. As they grow closer, something terrible strikes.
While the two are on a mission, they're captured by a group. This group plans on using the two's powers for their own selfish reason, as they do to everyone else they've caught. If they don't comply, they're often hurt, sometimes even injured to an inch of their own life. (This possibly happening more to muse a, considering they are less likely to use their powers for bad, causing muse b to be more protective of them.) The two grow closer through this, with their feelings for each other growing. Whenever they have time alone, they either spend it just talking, comforting each other, or planning a way out. They have to get out before they get killed.

Alrighty, so I just have a few requirements before you join. You need to be able to post a minimum of two paragraphs per post, otherwise, I'll lose interest. I'd appreciate it if you were active, but I'm not going to force you to do so if you can't post often. I'll also need you to play a male muse b. Sorry if that breaks your interest at all.
Anyways, I don't really have any specific rules, other than keeping this at a pg-13 level, and cussing is allowed, whether or not you censor it.
Anyways, It'd be appreciated if you fill out a form. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, and you can just use a template if you want to. It doesn't have to be completely advanced, but at least the basic personality traits, powers, age, name, etc. of the character are appreciated.

POWERS Rei is able to manipulate small animals and bugs to do as she pleases. Generally, she has the best luck with insects. Her favorite happen to be butterflies. They do whatever she wishes, which can range from just small visual tricks, floating around her, or even going after people. (Generally if she'd want to attack, she'd use something like birds to divebomb people.) She is able to communicate with the creatures she controls as well, but she isn't the best at it.

BRIEF PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION Rei is a quiet, yet excitable girl. She is generally soft-spoken, rarely saying much, despite her being full of energy. She's generally pretty cheerful with a positive attitude towards almost everything. She can be considered pretty shy, with her rarely ever going up to anyone on her own. She gets nervous around strangers, but it's pretty easy for her to warm up to people. She tends to be pretty trusting to people, probably a bit too trusting. Rei is someone who is easy to manipulate, due to how trusting she can be. She tends to be extremely sensitive, making it easy to upset her and to make her cry. It's hard for her to handle stress or difficult situations, due to how upset she may get. It can be easy for her to be overwhelmed. Rei is an easily embarrassed person, so even the slightest flirt or embarrassing situation is enough to make her blush like crazy. She tends to be really skittish as well, making it extremely easy to scare her. She gets really nervous easily, making it hard for her to do certain things.

When you get to know her, Rei is pretty sweet. She tends to be extremely nice to her friends, often loving to be around them. She may be a bit clingy when you think about it. She can be extremely dependent on the people she cares about, often needing them around to make her happy. Rei tends to be someone who's extremely imaginative and creative as well. She always has some kind of idea of something, often stuck in her own fantasy world. She'll often express her thoughts through art. She always is excited over her ideas or anything her friends may want her to do. She's always there to lend a helping hand for her friends, often being there for them when they need it. She tends to be a very gentle person, often being considerate to others emotions. She does her best not to hurt anyone. She often avoids using anything other than butterflies or small, harmless animals for her powers, in order to avoid hurting anyone. She's afraid of ever hurting anyone with her powers, not wanting to feel the guilt of that happening again.

WEAKNESSES Rei is physically weak, making it easy to overpower her. Rei's powers rely on her emotions, making it hard for her to control them. (Due to how easily she gets overwhelmed or upset.) She is dependent on her partner or a weapon in dangerous situations, due to her not exactly being that fit for being an agent.
HISTORY Due to her father being in the military, Rei's family was always on the move. They rarely stayed in one place for long, always moving around. The longest she's ever stayed anywhere was for two years. Even from a young age, Rei was always inside drawing or outside wandering around in the wilderness. She always seemed to have a connection with small animals, some of them following her home, and her sometimes being surrounded by swarms of bugs. It didn't take her long until she figured out that she could actually control these creatures.

When her mother figured out, she urged her to keep it a secret. They didn't want anybody to hurt her because she had powers. Still, Rei used her powers when her mother wouldn't look. She'd sometimes show other kids, who often seemed almost afraid of her powers. She didn't seem to understand that, though. Some kids started to pick on her, sometimes physically hurting her because of her powers. She never seemed to stand up for herself anyways. That was until she finally fought back. After getting punched by some kid, Rei had an emotional outburst, and without thinking, she sent a flock of birds to start attacking the kid. She wasn't able to stop them until about a minute after they started hurting him. By then, the kid was completely scratched and bruised. It didn't take long for the principle at the school to figure this out, quickly expelling her. After hearing about this, her mother kept in indoors most of the time, as far away from any animals or bugs as possible. When she heard about the opportunity to send her off, she did it right away. She wanted her daughter to be able to control her powers again. After being sent to an academy, meant for people like her. She began to learn techniques to control her powers more, and she's actually learned how to do so, but her powers still tend to be reliant on her emotions.

She seems to hold a look of innocence to her, sometimes looking younger than she actually is. Her hair is always kept nice and clean, and her gray eyes are always full of light.

So, this was it. Rei was getting a partner. She was honestly surprised that this happened so quick. She got a message from the owner of this place about this. She was given her new partner's name, as well as where she'd be meeting him. Already, she was nervous about this. Rei knew she wasn't completely fit for missions, despite her training for fighting (specifically with weapons and her powers), since she did train in order to come here. She just wasn't completely fit for this whole situation. She didn't really have any other options.

Some butterflies fluttered around her, while others were on her shoulders and the table in front of her. She always had some following her around, unless she was asleep. She originally wanted to have them in formation of a crown, since it looked like a cute addition to her outfit, but she just couldn't manage to do that with her nerves. Besides, her partner would probably find it weird if she had a bunch of real butterflies on her head! She shifted in her chair slightly while she thought.

The girl had been told to wait at a cafe nearby the apartment she lived in. She had ordered a tea while she waited. She wondered how long her partner would take to get here. She sighed, taking a quick sip of her tea before putting it down again. Sighing, she looked down at her tea. One of the butterflies fluttered on top of the mug's handle, almost as if her sight had drawn it there. She was just moving them around while she was waiting. They never seemed to move a foot away from her, even when she wasn't completely controlling them. They seemed almost drawn to her, often coming to her even when she wasn't controlling them in the slightest.

Deciding to look up, Rei took a quick glance around the room. It wasn't exactly packed, but Rei happened to be the only person sitting alone. It was a telltale sign that she was the one that she was waiting to meet her new partner. She just didn't happen to see her partner yet. She glanced back down at her tea, picking up the mug. The butterfly on there remained stationary, while she took a sip of her drink. She put it back down, just staring at it by this point. She didn't notice that someone moved into the seat in front of her, seeming to be ready to talk to her.

Power: Jose can shift any part of his skin to a near impenetrable metal. The metal makes him stronger and more resilient. However it takes focus and energy to shift. For example, turing only an arm to metal takes minimal focus, while turing his entire body to metal takes up a lot of energy and requires him to be completely focused. He's very in control of his abilities, adept at using them for both attack and defense.
Appearance: Jose is quite an intimidating sight to see. Standing at 6' 4" and having a very broad muscular build, it's quite obvious that Jose is good with physical activities. He has medium skin over his well defined muscles. His hair is very curly, sticking in many different directions, though he keeps his face clean shaven. He has dark brown eyes set in a well defined face. Overall, he's quite a sight to see... especially when he turns to metal.
Dominent Traits: Protective, agressive, dorky
Personality Brief: While he may look tough, Jose is a pretty dorky guy. He likes making jokes, even if they're sometimes kinda sad. The poor boy is tone deaf, but he loves to sing. He tires to flirt, but it often comes across as more desperate than attractive, so he's learned to laugh it off. He enjoys spending time with others, but also likes his time alone to think. He's very dedicated to his job, not really taking much time to question the missions he is sent on. It's his job, and he does it well. That's another common theme in his life, he tends not to do anything half-effort. He's very persistent, not stopping until the job is done. Unfortunately, he doesn't use much of that effort to prevent injuries. He often resorts to brute force. He doesn't like killing, no sane person does, but he will hurt someone if it's needed to complete a mission. He's very protective of his partner, or any other allies for that matter. He tends not to share his burdens with others, keeping his pain contained not wanting others to worry about him.
History: Jose was born to an American woman and a Hispanic man. He grew up in New Mexico near the border, loving the fact that his dual race let him experience all both cultures had to offer. He had a happy childhood until the age of nine. At nine years old, on a family trip to the rockies, a brake failure sent their car off a cliff. A few days later, a seemingly uninjured Jose was found near the sight of the crash, both of his parents killed. Authorities were astonished as to how the boy survived, but after an investigation turned up nothing Jose was sent into foster care. He moved from house to house, trying to make the best of his situation, pushing his pain over the loss of his parents deep down. He made mostly friends, until one home when Jose was 16. An aggressive boy taken from abusive parents was put in a home with him and began to take out his anger on Jose. One day it got bad, but when the boy went to punch Jose, his fist hit metal. Jose had shifted himself into metal as defense, and the boy ended up breaking his hand. Quite quickly Jose was sent away losing contact with all of his friends. He quickly latched onto the idea of missions and became a great agent. His first partner was another orphan named Peter, and the two bonded quickly. They went on many successful missions until Peter was killed. Out of anger, Jose ended up killing the one responsible and wounding everyone else. He was taken out of the field for a while, until a few months later he agreed to return to missions with a new partner, but he's hesitant to get too close, for fear of losing another friend.

Jose was't one to be late, but today he just couldn't push himself to rush. He knew the way to the cafe by heart, he'd been there many times. No, it wasn't that he was lost, it was just that he couldn't bring himself to rush to the cafe because of who was waiting for him there. His new partner.

Jose didn't know who it was, and he didn't have anything against them. He was sure that they were a completely decent and great person, but he couldn't help but thinking of Peter as he walked to meet the complete stranger that would replace his old friend. Jose scolded himself quietly, it had been three months since Peter's death. It was time to move on with life, he couldn't live without a job and being an agent was really the only thing he wanted to do. Jose wasn't built to run a store or be a service provider, he was build for doing missions. Hardwired for doing missions. Who was better for missions than a metal boy with nothing to lose.

He stopped, suddenly realizing he was standing at the doors of the cafe. He took a deep breath and pushed the door open. He threw a smile at the man behind the counter before looking around for his new partner. His eyes landed on the only person sitting alone and took a minute to observe her. The first thing he noticed was the butterflies flying around her head, and the one sitting on her mug. He watched in awe as it stayed still even as she took a drink. Finally he walked over quietly pulling the chair out to sit down, worried that one wrong move would make the beautiful butterflies scatter.

Jose sat quietly for a moment, waiting for the girl to look up, but after a few seconds it was obvious that she hadn't noticed him. That's a first. He thought, knowing how observant one had to be in dangerous situations. However he found it almost relieving that his new partner wasn't extremely uptight. "Excuse me." He said in a friendly tone thinking back to the name he had been given this morning. "Are you Rei Seung?"

At first, Rei was just lost in her own world, so she hadn't noticed Jose. As soon as he spoke up, she jumped slightly. The butterflies around her seemed to scatter a bit in response, as if they shared the surprise with her. They eventually seemed to calm down, returning to their original position. She looked over towards Jose. So, this was her new partner? Hopefully he'd be someone she could easily work with - Rei already had some troubles talking to people.

"Uh, yeah - I'm Rei. I'm guessing you're Jose, right?" she replied. Rei just decided to double check. There wouldn't really be any other reason for him to know about her, though she just decided to ask to be sure. The butterflies around her seemed to fidget slightly, mostly a sign of her being nervous. She hoped that he wouldn't notice. She found it to be embarrassing when people knew she was nervous.

Jose smiled watching with interest as the butterflies seemed to match Rei's emotions. "Yep, that's me." He looked at her suspicious that she was ready for agent work. She seemed kind enough, but it took a lot more to be an agent. It took concentration, observation, and determination, and while he couldn't say for sure she didn't have any of these things he was worried.

"Why did you become an agent?" He asked for two reasons. The first being that he wanted to get an answer to his questions, evaluate what his partner was like. On the other hand, he simply wanted to break the ice and get to know Rei.
