[center]- - - - -[fancypost=bgcolor=; border:0; width:450px; text-align:justify; font-size:10px; line-height:1.5]Things at home had been... not so great, recently. Padmè was leaving for a while, Pluto was staying with Henry and Attie, and Vader wasn't happy with any of it. It seemed the family had fallen apart - and Alice was distraught. She was introverted. Antisocial. Had very few friends, and little interest in making more. Family was all she had, and without that safe and warm environment that held them all together... she'd been crying herself to sleep, praying Vader wouldn't hear, wondering if she would be called a coward too. Wondering if it had always been like this, and she had been blind to it all. Wondering if it would be like this from now on. If she had just woken up from a naive dream into reality. Her chest had never felt so burdened, and her mind so full. She needed time to herself; to forget everything, and let herself breathe again.
Alice had left shortly after dawn, and began her ascent up the mountain. There were few around at such an hour, and the peace and chilly breeze of the morning was comfort already. The path was long to the mountain peak, and riddled with stones, tree roots and bumps. Her paw pads felt raw and worn, but the pain distracted her. The views from above the village were even more spectacular, but she didn't waste time admiring the valley in the morning sunlight. The child held her head high, towards the lilac clouds of post-dawn. At the very peak, there was a nice flat top to the mountain, made of dusty rock with a few grasses pushing through cracks. An old shrine stood overlooking the mountain range, too; something that would normally have picqued her interest. No distractions. Not today.
Alice sat on the ground; closed her eyes and let her thoughts and worries pour out silently. The wind buffeted her fur and whistled in her ears, but she ignored it all. She felt nothing. Her mind was empty, senses numb. Given a moment, even the wind seemed to still, as if the world had stopped. All she knew was the peace and serenity, as if it were in the air - an unfamiliar feeling, but one that had been there all along. One that hadn't had a chance to show itself fully to her; but now it was all she could focus on. Perhaps if she had been more educated on such topics, she would have identified it as the Force - but Alice was young and inexperienced. She had no idea of the Force, or why she could sense it - and maybe, for now, it was better that way.
