  • [center]- - - - -[fancypost=bgcolor=; border:0; width:450px; text-align:justify; font-size:10px; line-height:1.5]Things at home had been... not so great, recently. Padmè was leaving for a while, Pluto was staying with Henry and Attie, and Vader wasn't happy with any of it. It seemed the family had fallen apart - and Alice was distraught. She was introverted. Antisocial. Had very few friends, and little interest in making more. Family was all she had, and without that safe and warm environment that held them all together... she'd been crying herself to sleep, praying Vader wouldn't hear, wondering if she would be called a coward too. Wondering if it had always been like this, and she had been blind to it all. Wondering if it would be like this from now on. If she had just woken up from a naive dream into reality. Her chest had never felt so burdened, and her mind so full. She needed time to herself; to forget everything, and let herself breathe again.

Alice had left shortly after dawn, and began her ascent up the mountain. There were few around at such an hour, and the peace and chilly breeze of the morning was comfort already. The path was long to the mountain peak, and riddled with stones, tree roots and bumps. Her paw pads felt raw and worn, but the pain distracted her. The views from above the village were even more spectacular, but she didn't waste time admiring the valley in the morning sunlight. The child held her head high, towards the lilac clouds of post-dawn. At the very peak, there was a nice flat top to the mountain, made of dusty rock with a few grasses pushing through cracks. An old shrine stood overlooking the mountain range, too; something that would normally have picqued her interest. No distractions. Not today.

Alice sat on the ground; closed her eyes and let her thoughts and worries pour out silently. The wind buffeted her fur and whistled in her ears, but she ignored it all. She felt nothing. Her mind was empty, senses numb. Given a moment, even the wind seemed to still, as if the world had stopped. All she knew was the peace and serenity, as if it were in the air - an unfamiliar feeling, but one that had been there all along. One that hadn't had a chance to show itself fully to her; but now it was all she could focus on. Perhaps if she had been more educated on such topics, she would have identified it as the Force - but Alice was young and inexperienced. She had no idea of the Force, or why she could sense it - and maybe, for now, it was better that way.

  • Poppykit had met Alice briefly around the time she'd first been brought into the clan, and she was fairly nice to her. She was not a sympathetic kid in the slightest, but she did think what was going on in Alice's life was pretty shitty and that she'd be pissed off if she was in her situation, so maybe she should try and help her get her mind off of it. Of course, Poppykit immdiatley regretted this decision as she was not good with talking to others to cheer them up. She didn't have to cheer her up, right? She could just make sure her mind was distracted from family issues. After a while, the small fluffy kitten spoke up, unafraid to disturb her concentration. "... Are you napping?" She certainly looked like she was.

Staying with the Hacksaws hadn't been too bad, Attie and Henry were great parent figures. He did miss those mornings where he would talk with Alice about what had happened in their books or just sitting there enjoying each other's company. Siblings had a way of knowing what was up and just how to get you out of your cloudy days. This same sense is what had woken Pluto that very morning. He gave a stretch, pulling on new bandages over his arms before grabbing his now slightly too big scarf and heading out the door.

The morning was chill as it had been that fateful day and the munchkin's fur fluffed up to help keep him warm. He didn't know yet what drew him to the mountain peak but he headed that way regardless. His new pelt hid his ribs and more importantly, the bags around his eyes. Even if he said he was fine not sleeping, his body needed it and his exhaustion carried over to this new body. Eventually he reached the top and saw his sister meditating with Poppykit not far off asking her a question. The male did not speak and rather proceeded to sit quietly a little ways off from the two.

Yet again, Elliot had been back to the wreck of her ship. She hadn't even attempted to fix it, but had instead looked around it, climbed in it and just generally scan it over. There was no point in trying to fix it when you couldn't see what the problem was.

After around an hour, the wolf had noticed Pluto a little way away; he was heading up the mountain. Elliot grinned, hopping out of the ship and bounding after him, desperate to catch up with the feline. She knew that she probably wouldn't, but a run would be good for her anyway.

Elliot managed to reach him at the top of the mountain, only to find that there were two other people there - Poppy and... Plu's sister? The pilot frowned slightly, coming to a stop next to Pluto. "What are they doing?" she whispered.

"I dunno but Ally looks really focused on something...she might be sensing the force but who knows..none of us have been able to yet." He whispered. He had looked into stuff like this and knew about the power his father talked so fondly of, upon reading more he thought Almir might have been the first to sense it but perhaps Alice had stolen the chance from him.

  • Poppy frowned ever so slightly to herself, the tip of her tail twitching. "... 'sensing the force'?..." she repeats dryly, clearly having no idea what that meant. The way Pluto had stated it, however, gave the impression it should be common knowledge, though.

  • [center]- - - - -[fancypost=bgcolor=; border:0; width:450px; text-align:justify; font-size:10px; line-height:1.5]Sensing the force indeed. In fact, Alice was so wrapped up in the foreign feeling that she had completely zoned out, transfixed with the way the air seemed to twist and change, like a physical emotion, transforming as each presence arrived. She could see colours on the back of her eyelids that danced with the strange force, fading and brightening. Perhaps she was enjoying this too much - to the point where she had blocked out reality. To the point of danger. It was her brother's voice that startled her - and just like that, the feeling jolted and retreated into the back of her mind. His signature was stronger than the others'. Despite how he considered himself a failure, as one of Vader's offspring it was inevitable he would have some kind of fluency in the Force. It had pulsed lightly with blues and purples at his approach, and it had been his voice that could reach her ears through the trance she was in.

Hazel eyes widened in surprise - she hadn't expected anyone to follow her. Alice noticed Poppykit's expectant look and parted her own lips in thought. "Sorry?" she questioned. Had the girl spoken? Pluto was there, of course, speaking to another girl who she didn't quite recognise. A paw shifted nervously. Great, what a first impression to make. Rounded ears swivelled to face the pair as she caught the mention of the Force in their conversation. "Plu? Me? The Force?" she stuttered, honestly shocked. She was barely five months old - and she had no idea what the Force felt like. No, this was probably something to do with mentality and meditation. "I was just... thinking," she explained, heat warming her face. She hadn't asked to be put in the centre of attention. And in a situation like this? They'd think she'd gone insane. How wonderful.

"Sensing the what now?" Elliot asked incredulously, staring between Plu and Alice with a raised brow. She had no idea what was going on, but it sounded hella weird. She decided to stick closer to Pluto, freaked out by what this 'force' thing was.

"Yeah, they say it comes to you in times of great need. Sad to say this is a better time than any for you to discover it Ally." The male explained, padding over to her and giving her a sibling nuzzle. At Eli's voice he turned to the wolf with a confused expression on his face. "Well I don't know how to explain it fully, I've only been researching it for a month or so.. Its..well.." He paused thinking for a moment before continuing. "So let's say every living thing has a bubble around it, that bubble is their energy, their life force, their spirit. Some can feel it and manipulate it, for good or evil. Some cannot and they go about their daily lives. It's not a very good explanation but it's the best I've got with what I've learned."

"The presence of the Force is blind to most, Poppy." He says, appearing behind the group. He glances at Pluto, then briskly turning his head away. Vader would stand above them- his own presence in the Force was dark and encompassing, a hungry animal.
But... with a touch of sadness.

Elliot would have laughed, but as soon as Vader arrived she became somewhat put off the idea. He really didn't seem like a jokey person - not that Elliot actually cared about his personality. It was just that she'd heard about his fight with Henry in the hall - she'd learned to listen to conversations in the base cantina when she was human - and was wary of him. She knew how strong he was, but... well, he wouldn't do anything to a friend of his son's. Would he?

"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side," she eventually offered, shrugging whilst smirking.
