They had had an earthequale before. But that was small, hardly enough to shift a stone. This one would be much bigger, leaving a greater impact on the clan' section heart and territory.
It was the middle of the day, life had carried on as usual. Morning patrols were returning and the later patrols were preparing to leave. The fresh kill pile was stacking up as normal, abundant with the fresh run of spring. There was still snow but the prey was returning, and there was no sign of it running low. This was good for StormClan. No one would assume that something would disturb this peace.
And then it happened.
The ground began to shake, making a sound foreign to Blazestar's ears. It knocked her off balance, tossing her to the ground like a ragdoll before she could do anything. Members with motion sickness wouldn't like this event. Leaves that trees had worked so hard to grow would be flung off, glittering to the ground. Dust that no one knew existed would be tossed up, getting into some member's eyes and momentarily blinding them. The fresh kill pile toppled over, no longer a neat pile and more of a scattering of corpses. The kits would wail for their mothers and the birds shrieked as they fled the moving landscape. The shaking got faster and more intense, but once it reached its climax it slowly went to a gentle sway, and then stopped.
If one went out of the camp, they would see boulders moved, rivers that changed direction, trees that fell over, and other such disasters. Earthquakes could be big or small, destructive or gentle. Now StormClan had experienced both ends of the spectrum.
"StormClan! Gather around now!" As soon as she's could, Blazestar was back on her feet and trying to help. One of the best ways to do that would be to get everyone in one place and see if anyone was injured. She was fine, but others may not be so lucky. It was her duty to make sure everyone was ok, so that's what she would try to do.
