Everything around him. Nothing. He couldn't see at all as the blind apprentice blinked both of his heterochromatic eyes, he sat still not wanting to move since he would likely trip over something and bleed from the nose, they should have named him Clumsypaw because of how ungraceful he was. The dappled tomcat twitched his whiskers calmly only to mew with a shy smile on his maw "A-ah. . .Hello?" The issue with not being able to see was that he wouldn't be able to see anyone approaching him but likely for the young tomcat was that his ears were quite large so his hearing was more acute than others. He blinked a few times with his mismatched gaze on the ground whilst his paws played with the petals of a few flowers, his sense of smell also helped him. Sometimes. . .

Hello? The near-black tom didn't respond but he did correct his posture just in case he was doing something with his stance that might give his position away. Or rather, he tried to correct his posture. Locustpaw's training had started very recently and he was still unsure about his footing. He didn't know if the lighter grey tom knew that he was being stalked but by Starclan, he wouldn't let his progress slip away so easily. He thought he was doing pretty good on his sneak attack, lining himself up behind the older apprentice, staying low to the ground, being careful with his steps...
Locustpaw shimmied forward, tail twitching above the ground, brushing lightly against the grass with a gentle rustle. Whoops. Feeling panicked and rushing as a result, the new apprentice barreled forward, trying to throw his weight into the other's back.

At the sudden rustle, the tomcat angled his large ears forward with a small frown tugging at his lips hearing that someone was rushing towards him did he rise to his paws swiftly but clumsily as well, the lucky bit for himself was that he tipped a bit too much causing him to fall out of the other's way. He landed on the ground with a gasp before he scrambled to his paws using his ears to locate his possible opponent and mewed "Y-you!" He narrowed his pupils with a soft growl rumbling in his throat not staring in the right direction of Locustpaw, the blind dappled tomcat was scrawny and small for an eight moon old apprentice but from past experiences he had trained himself to a small degree to use his hearing and smell to make up for being blind. The oriental puffed up to a certain degree lashing his slender tail only to sit down with a shaky huff, great Starclan, he loathed when his clanmates did that. It would only send a rush of anxiety in him and he always ended up trembling because of it "M-m-mouse brain. . ." He finally muttered feeling his timidness spike at him. He just got angry that his own clanmates tried that at him, he was lucky to even fall out of the other's way or clumsy enough. 'My mother should have named me Clumsykit or Mousekit so when I get my warrior name, it's Clumsyfoot or Mousebrain.' He thought half-heartedly still wearing a frown. -
Jagged heard the commotion and padded over, blind gaze flitting over the two. "...What... is... going... on..?" He questioned, placing himself between Batpaw(?) and Locustpaw. It seemed as if he wasn't the only one in the clan blind and useless. The only good thing he'd done was help the (NPC) medicine cat in emptying out the bad herbs in the den, and had by rare luck caught a lizard on a hunting patrol. But that was it. At least he'd helped his clan mates locate the lizards using his sensitive hearing.

"Actually, I'm Locustpaw." Was his only response to the insult as he tucked his front paws up underneath his chest with a proud sneer. His attention finally shifted to the other tom present and Locustpaw shrugged - something neither of them could see, no doubt.
"I was just showing him some cool moves I thought up." Locustpaw stated innocently before he started to preen. Mother always placed such emphasis on the importance of grooming that it was impossible for him not to pause and clean himself up every few minutes. "Not my fault he's not...built to fight back." The new apprentice added, biting back a mean laugh. Sure, he was sour that Batpaw had still technically dodged him and that this interloper was stopping any additional attacks Locustpaw could make, but he forced himself to have a bit of patience.

Jagged felt at a loss. This apprentice seemed too proud and too full of energy to be around a blind apprentice. What if he accidentally hurt him? He stood there, refusing to move and keeping all senses alert for if Locustpaw attempted at coming back at the younger tom. Not my fault he's not.. built to fight back. The unheard laughter in the other tom's mew had him holding back the rage he wanted to let out, but he wasn't going to let it get them all in trouble. "...Locustpaw... how.. would... Locustpaw... feel... if... Locustpaw... was.. blind..? Would... Locustpaw.. want.. others... making.. fun.. of... Locustpaw..?" He asked, tail flicking.

"You're a foxheart, that's who you are!" Batpaw mewed flicking large ears back only to listen to what he said next something about it made his heartache within his chest, he couldn't necessarily argue with that as his heterochromatic eyes trailed down towards the ground once more "I can fight if I w-wanted to. . ." He said defensively pinning his ears against his cranium feeling hurt especially with the taunting laughter, the sounds and how his small claws dug into the earth underneath him. He could take the opportunity to attack the mouse brain if he really wanted to but he refused to stoop down to Locustpaw's level as he lifted his foggy gaze up blinking away any possible tears "I could f-fight you here and now if I w-w-wanted to!" He flicked his ears at the sound of Jagged's words feeling better though he was still hurting on the inside. It hurt to be made fun of because him not being able to see. -
Jagged was not going to stand for this. If Locustpaw was going to fight anyone, he'd let it be him. He wasn't gonna let Batpaw fight an arrogant older tom. He'd rather him get in trouble, since anything could be blamed on the non-clanborn tom and no one would bat an eye. "...No..! Fight.. Jagged... not... little.. cat..!" He mewed. Besides, he owed Locustpaw some scratches for the other night anyway. Telling him he couldn't go for a walk... he crouched down, ready, his ears rammed forward. He fluffed his fur to try and seem bigger, undaunted by the bullying tom's taunting.

Locustpaw rolled onto his back after delivering the comment, inspecting his paws closely. The new apprentice let his paws fall onto his chest for a moment before he stood himself back up, glaring at Batpaw but unable to keep a silly smile off of his face. This was all play for Locustpaw.
"Nope, sorry, I'm still Locustpaw." He chirped. "And sure you could fight, but probably not well. How're you supposed to see what I'm doing when you can't?" Somewhere in the back of Locustpaw's mind he was aware that he probably wouldn't be able to deliver on his taunts all that well. He had just been made an apprentice, after all. He didn't know anything about fighting aside from instinct and what he had seen older cats do during play. But these cats can't even see, he comforted himself, ego swelling up in his chest. Besides, Locustpaw may have had soft, untrained muscles, but he had a lot of it. Most of the style he had developed while play-fighting consisted of simply throwing himself around.
"But come on, it'll be good for us both. I get to train, you can try to prove you're not worthless." The dark grey tom shrugged casually. Then Jagged stepped forward and his ears pressed back. "What's with you two? You're just dying for a piece of me - I can't blame you but calm down!" Locustpaw laughed loudly. He was always loud, big, and simply too much and he was aware of this, but had yet to be taught the art of stealth and subtlety. So he dealt.
Blind cats are good at listening, he remarked to himself in regards to how ungraceful and noisy he had a tendency of being. So I guess I'd better learn to be fast. He pursed his lips but reached both thick paws forward to try and whap Jagged on the nose.
He did not know what he was doing, but he wasn't about to pass up a challenge issued by broken cats.

You can try to prove you're not worthless.
Something he had already been trying to prove since joining. A large paw suddenly whacked him on the nose, throwing his head to the side. An angry snarl ripped the air, issued from Jagged's muzzle as he then
attempted to slam his paw on Locustpaw's head, hopefully leaving him disoriented. He hated arrogant cats and thinking they could push everyone around.*audience chants* FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

Jadefeather had been watching with wide eyes, momentarily stunned. Then she rushed forward, shoving Locustpaw out of the way, and turning on him. "And what do you think you're doing? Are you picking on your clan ages because they're different from you?" She was fuming, and bared her teeth at the small apprentice. "This is unacceptable."
-
His claws missed his mark as Jadefeather hurled forward and shoved Locustpaw out of the way. It was a wonder his claws hadnt hit her instead. He gave a wordless hiss, and stalked out of the camp angry, the bramble trembling as he pushed through it. Let them deal with the arrogant frog-brain. He'd get him back later.
-
Jadefeather wanted to go after Jagged, but she had to deal with the insolent apprentice first. Who did he think he was, clan leader? Well he certainly wasn't, and she would put him in his place, no matter what. She would either tell his mentor or the shadow clan leader about his behaviour, and let them deal with him afterwards
(Btw, who is your mentor, XD and I'm not sure if twoface is around, so it'll either be an NPC leader or a step up)

"I'm just giving them what they want! Did you not see them ready to gang up on me? It was all just play, besides." The apprentice huffed, righting himself and looking at Jadefeather.
"How're they supposed to be useful without someone around to give them a push?" His mind sifted through a variety of different ways to frame what he was doing as maybe a little less despicable so that whatever punishment this harebrain was about to call down on him would potentially be alleviated. "I was only trying to help." Locustpaw added in a soft voice.
//aah locust is a new character so his mentor right now is just an npc lmao

Jadefeather flicked her tail irritably. "That didn't look like play to me. Locustpaw, you can't just attack a clan mate, and call it 'play'." His next words made her want to give him a smack, but she refrained. "Jagged has been plenty useful to the clan, as has Batpaw. Would you like to be blind, and have cats scorn you because of it? It's rediculous, and I don't want to catch you doing it again."Her voice was cold, and no less so when he started mewing about trying to help. "Foxdung you were, don't give me that. I'll speak to your mentor about this, and they will decide your punishment. But if I catch you at it again, I'll take you straight to our leader." She glared at him, waiting for a response. She wasn't usually so harsh, but she hated it when cats picked on others, Jagged especially. In her mind the conversation was basically over, and she wanted to go after Jagged.
Ico, and ok lol. Do you want to decide a 'punishment' together, or just whatever?

I thought it was fun." He responded, head tipping to one side. "And I'm talking about useful fighting! What if there's a raid? They'll die." Not that it really worried him whether they died or not (or whether this warrior died for that matter) but he was stubborn.
"Why is everyone asking me if I'd like to be blind, or what if I were blind, or blah blah....I'm not, so it doesn't matter." He stated, screwing his face up into a frown. "If you don't like it then don't look, and maybe quit being such a softheart." He snapped finally, bubbling over with frustration, both at having his fight interrupted and by being talked at by this warrior.
The tom picked at the ground after that, all his nervous energy being taken out on the grass beneath his paws as he clawed it up in clumps and busied himself looking at anything except her or Batpaw or Jagged. He exhaled noisily and looked like he was about to add something else, but stamped on the ground instead, uprooting a chunk of dirt and stomping it into pieces.
"It wasn't that big of a deal. They even wanted to fight. They said so." He finally added, still avoiding eye contact and angrily raking at the ground. "They said."

She hissed softly. "Its not fun for those who don't want to fight. And if there's a raid, they will not die. They'll be by their clan mates sides, fighting just as you and I would."
She allowed her claws to peak out slightly at her next words. "It matters, because who knows what the next day will bring? Perhaps someday you'll be in a fight, and be unlucky enough to have claws catch your eyes. Then you will be blind, and it will matter."
"they only wanted a fight because you pushed them. As I said, don't do it again, or the clan leader will hear of this."

Useless. They'll die. Broken. The words hurt his heart and ears hearing them echo throughout his mind but Batpaw bit his lower lip hating that Jagged was defending him not because he didn't appreciate it but because he wanted to defend himself. The smaller blind tom lashed his tail glancing down at the ground once more deciding to ignore those there hearing them argue over and over again, it reminded him of when his parents were deciding his name. All these words hurt. He opened his maw before closing it feeling tears starting to well up in his eyes, a true Shadowclan warrior shouldn't be crying but it was hard not to considering the circumstances especially since it seemed that Locustpaw would not apologize. He hated this, he hated how others were standing up for him, he pinned his large ears against his cranium. He hated Locustpaw, he'd show him. He'd push himself to the limits and not think of stopping until he probably broken every bone within him. He mumbled something quietly to himself only to growl "S-says the kitten j-just weaned f-f-from their m-mother. . ." With that last retort, he left the scene making sure he didn't trip.
