Oakkit's features were bathed in the bright sunlight of morning that filtered through the trees surrounding ThunderClan camp as he padded out of the nursery, highlighting the russet undertones within his brown tabby pelt. The illumination of a new day caught in droplets of dew which hung heavy on the nearby blades of grass and dampened his coat. Giving each of his still rather short though steadily growing limbs a thorough stretch, he'd decided he would attempt to hone his rock-climbing skills today. He reared up at the nearest stone - one that could be cleared easily by most warrior-aged cats - and hooked his claws in crevices, heaving himself upward momentarily before gently sliding back down to the sandy earth. The older cats made it look so easy. Why can't I do it? He wondered, flicking a tufted ear. Did cats suddenly gain magical rock-climbing, badger-defeating, mouse-hunting powers when they turned six moons old? He didn't understand. Sitting down with his back against the stone he'd failed to climb, the kitten stared blankly as a beetle toddled over particles of stone mixed in with the earth below his pads.
"Being a kit sure gets boring sometimes."

Marshkit, the small greyish brown tabby tom, appeared seemingly out of no where and batted at the beetle, a small playful growl bubbling up from his chest. "Not at all!" He answered, not really caring whether or not the other kit had been talking to him."We can just play all day!" The ever optimistic, fun loving young tome reared up menacingly at Oakkit as if inciting a play-fight. "You know what looks really boring? Cleaning the elder's den." He grimaced at the thought. That was one task he was not looking forward to about being an apprentice.

AS LONG AS I'M BY YOUR SIDE — branchpaw — trad. thunderclan — he/him
Branchpaw's attention was drawn to the two tom-kits, a small smile on his maw. He listened in on the statements said by the little ones before heading over their way. He would lay down close to the pair before speaking, deciding to give his own opinion on the matter. "Yes, being a kit may be boring at times, but just think about it this way. You only have a few more moons before you will be touring the territory with your mentor. Your body still needs to grow and develop before you can safely leave the camp." He tried to explain it in a way that would hopefully cheer the little one up and give him hope for the near future, rather than leave him disliking the current situation. "But, for now, you can have fun without worrying about how much prey you caught or whether or not you have mastered battle moves and techniques. You can listen to stories and partake in games all day long."

A light smile brightened face upon Marshkit's words reaching his ears.
"You have a point, Marshkit," he grinned as he reared up just as the fellow ThunderClan kitten had done, however he miscalculated and lost balanced, falling backwards onto the earth at Branchpaw's paws as he spoke. He blinked as he gazed up at the blue point apprentice through bright leaf-hued eyes and attempted to process the chunk of information he'd just spouted off. "I guess you're right," he agreed with a dramatized sigh as he heaved himself upright and out of Branchpaw's way. "But I wish my body would hurry up with this whole growing thing. Mossball's getting boring." He remarked before attempting to gently pounce on Marshkit, who he hoped would be distracted by the conversation and he could catch off-guard.

"I'm gonna be an apprentice soon!" The child would shout as she literally appeared out of nowhere. Okay, so maybe it wasn't nowhere, and maybe she had been hiding in the shadows waiting for something like this to happen. But still, it was the mind set and the effect that mattered. Strutting proudly, the 6 moon old kitten would grin. "My bro's already an apprentice, and im gonna be next! And then the queens wont be able to yell at me for being to noisy!" She would flop her little rump down beside marshkit, aiming to give her new friend a somewhat gentle shove.

The young tom shrieked in surprise as he was tag-teamed by his denmates from both sides, sending his rolling in the dirt. "No fair!" He mewled, offended. He pounced at Oakkit, hoping to bowl him over in return.

Bluekit didn't initially join in the conversation. The thought of doing so scared her. The child sat there listening thoughtfully before sighing happily. "We don't have to stress out about anything until we're bigger. I really like being smallish." The child said quietly, almost inaudible. It was an unpopular opinion, but the kid didn't need another reason to be anxious. Being an apprentice sounded like a lot of pressure and responsibility.
