  • People thought these creatures only existed in legends and stories, but they are real. Dragons live among humans; they disguise themselves as humans, settle down in human societies, and adopt human ways. It may seem shocking, but they have a reason to do so. Hunting Dragons has been a sport for generations, and it is still practiced today. They have been hunted so much they were forced into hiding, and they were gone for so long that people considered them extinct, and eventually their existence became nothing more than a memory. People began to wonder if they ever existed at all, which caused doubt to settle in their minds. As years and years went by, the belief in Dragons slowly withered, then finally died. When people forgot about their existence, the Dragons finally came out of hiding.

There was a problem, though. If they wandered the earth in their true forms, they'd just be hunted again. No Dragon wanted to go into hiding, so they formulated a plan. They disguised themselves as humans; the very creatures that killed them all those years ago. It was the only way to live in peace, so reluctantly, the Dragons used their magic to 'become' human. Their plan worked for a few years, but one day something happened, and it ruined their chances of living peacefully for good. One dragon was found and killed a large mass of people out of panic; it knocked down buildings, pulled down power lines, ended countless lives, and more. Eventually, they too were killed by humans, and shortly after their death a warning was sent out. The Dragons were back, and the hunt would begin once again. This hunt would be much different, though; now the humans were much more advanced then they were before.

Anyone accused of keeping a Dragon Shifter under their care would be punished; the Dragons were 'dangerous' according to the media, and they needed to be eradicated. People accused of being a Dragon would be detained immediately and 'tested'. These tests were brutal, and those who underwent it rarely ever survived, no matter their species. Only a small number of Dragons exist to this day, and they are still being hunted. They've taken extreme measures to stay alive; they started revealing other shifters in order to stay alive, and sometimes they've joined the hunt to seem innocent.

Among these Dragon Shifters is Xiaotong, who prefers to be called 'Rory'. He changed his name in an attempt to 'disappear' from the world; he is one of the most wanted Dragon Shifters, and there is even a reward on his head. He is quite violent, and every night he sneaks out to wreak havoc on faraway cities. He says this is his 'message', "if you keep messing with me and my species, this will be your reality". He usually escapes unscathed, but one day he got careless. He was shot in the side with a bullet, but this was no ordinary bullet. It was infused with the blood of a dragon, so it was able to penetrate his hide and cause quite a bit of damage. He survived the shot and managed to escape, but his wounds were bad. He knows how to treat them himself, and he has the supplies at his house, but he had to land far away from his home. So, now he wanders the streets of the city he landed in, trying to find a way back.

This is where your character, (Muse B), comes in. They can be a human, a true dragon, or maybe one of those rumored 'artificial' Shifters.

  • Alrighty! You can choose anime or realistic, it doesn't matter to me. I'll work on my forms now, and I can't wait to see yours. Before we begin, though, I suggest forming a small subplot so we know how to start.

    Alright!
I'll use an anime face claim then.

    That's fine with me!
Just a quick question, but was this plot made for romance, or no? It doesn't matter to me, but it would be easier for me to come up with plots if I knew.

Either way, though, perhaps Xiaotong/Rory and (M/C) could have known each other? I was thinking along the lines of the two despising each other, but we can change this.

    makaio

  • The majority of my PAFP threads do end up being romantic at some point, so maybe a gradual romance would be good. It would be cool if they knew each other, and if they despised each other, that could open up some doors to some new plots. For example, maybe (Muse B) 'protects' the cities he tries to attack? So when he arrives, sometimes they interfere with his plans?

Maybe her reason for saving him is that she just doesn't want to be the last dragon left, or something similar?

  • Sounds like a plan! Before we make forms/begin, let's come up with an idea how they meet. Xiaotong(Rory) will be walking down the streets, and it's nighttime(probably around 7:30/8:00).

NAME: His original name is Xiaotong, but after the hunts began again, he changed it to Rory. Xiaotong is a masculine name of Chinese origin, and it means 'red sky child'. Rory is also a masculine name of Gaelic origin, and it means 'red king'. His names have a similar theme, which is 'red'.
    BIOLOGICAL SEX: Male
    PREFERRED PRONOUNS: Masculine
SPECIES: Rory is a 'true' dragon, and an Eastern one to be exact. This means he uses his magic to fly, since he lacks wings. Eastern dragons are known for their long, serpentine body and bright red scales.
AGE: Like many true dragons, Rory can live a long time. However, unlike other dragons, he was born very recently. He is physically twenty years old. His age causes other dragons to doubt his knowledge, but what they don't know is he 'absorbed' his ancestor's memories and wisdom.

WRITTEN DRAGON DESCRITION: Xiaotong's true form is that of an Eastern dragon, whose bold red scales light up in the light like a flame. He is around 330ft in length, which makes him quite an intimidating dragon. A long, black mane runs down the entire length of his body, and ends in a large plume near the tip. The tips of his mane are golden in color, so each strand has two colors present. His entire body is a bold red in color, but his underbelly and the lower parts of his legs are jet black. He also has golden claws and whiskers. Xiaotong's eyes are a bright red in color, and when angry, they seem to flicker like a wild flame. (I used a rainbow loom dragon as a color reference)

PERSONALITY: Xiaotong used to be cheerful, outgoing, and quite perceptive when he was younger. However, at a young age his parents were slaughtered, so he was forced to learn about the cruelty of the world. After he absorbed their memories, he became even more perceptive. He witnessed the cruelty of nature; prey get killed by predators if they aren't fit enough to survive, and nothing will change that. He was also quite hesitant when it came to killing, but he quickly realized that hesitance was a weakness, and it can kill you. So, he discarded it. He adopted a cynical outlook of life, and accepted that the world is a cruel place in which only the strong survive. As the days went on Xiaotong became visibly more withdrawn and serious, up to the point where 'emotionally detached' can describe him well. He is also quite determined, so his spirit cannot be broken that easily. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, but still considers his actions as 'right', since the humans have killed so many of his kind already. This ties into his vengeful nature. It also ties into his hotheadedness, which clouds his judgement...often. The only expression he willingly expresses in anger, but he has occasionally shown others as well.

POWERS: He has full control of his body heat, so he can raise it to boiling temperatures, or cool it to almost freezing. He usually raises his internal temperature extremely high so he can melt metal by grabbing it, which helps him wreak havoc on the cities.
OTHER: Changed the picture to genderbent Mikasa, since I like this appearance better
    TRIVIA:
    - He speaks fluent Chinese
    - He swears...often
    - He only swears in Chinese
    - He easily gets flustered
    - He hates it when shifters call him a "noodle dragon"
    - His childhood was 'ruined' in a sense, since he was on his own at a very young age

    Personality.
Personality Description: Brook, as she goes by in her human form, is quite fine with lying low and planning out her revenge on the humans. The technology, though, causes her to choose to wait. Maybe the humans will go to war with one another, as she had learned from her parents that they often did. She chooses to believe what has been placed in front of her than what someone says without evidence to back up their claim. While she pretends to let things go, she never really forgets something that's been done to her. Oh you decided to try and rob her? She may accept your pitiful excuse and then rob you blind later. You wanna spread a rumor about her? She doesn't even mind starting a rumor that you were a dragon long after you've forgotten it. She can be rather patient and gets annoyed when something doesn't go as planned. She tends to leave out important information, especially if she doesn't trust the person and sometimes implies one thing while meaning the opposite. She is very cautious, especially when trying to figure out a good plan of revenge on the human race for killing her parents and countless others. One bad apple spoils the bunch. Brook also isn't afraid to voice her opinion and if she strongly disagrees with something, then she'll certainly tell you why and explain until they understand why they are 'wrong'. She's also a little insecure, but considering that if she's found to be a dragon than she'd be experimented on it wasn't surprising.

——Sibling's Statuses: The only siblings she knows of were found out and experimented on, or disappeared after not ending on good terms with her.

    History.
History Description: Her parents raised her and 'homeschooled' her, teaching her history about dragons and all of the things the 'silly' humans had their children learn. Her parents were accused of being dragons, admitted to it, and claimed that they had adopted Brook after killing her human parents. They had told her to run before hand, so she didn't hear her parents lying about her origins. It didn't take long for her to figure out that they had been killed, along with her older brother. Theres a possibility that her older brother (Older than the one who was killed) is still alive, but the two had never gotten along and ended on bad terms. She lives among the humans, trying to fit in the best she can. She moves about every 0-20 years, so that no one gets suspicious about her not looking like she's aged a day.

Xiaotong had experienced a lot of pain in his life, but nothing compared to the agony he was feeling at the moment. The bullet effortlessly pierced his hide and caused pain to course through him like a raging fire, which wrenched a scream of pure agony from his muzzle as he staggered, then fell to his side. Blood began to spill down his bold red scales in torrents, and it pooled around his claws on the concrete below. Hissing quietly, the beast forced themselves to stand, despite the unbearable pain which kept rippling up his spine. Bullet after bullet whizzed overhead, each one missing by only a few centimeters. He needed to get out of here before one of those bullets hit their target, his head. A cry of pain and anger resonated through the air as he rose into the sky, and disappeared among the clouds. They engulfed his form and concealed him from sight, providing him with enough cover to escape easily.

Just moments before he was shot, Xiaotong was ravaging yet another city. He tore through the civilization effortlessly; his scales were so hot they could melt the steel reinforcements which held the buildings together, and thus reducing them to rubble in a matter of minutes. He usually escaped before any harm could be done to him, but today he got sloppy. So, in his mind, he deserved to be injured for his carelessness. He gritted his teeth due to the searing agony which rippled through his body, and a shudder ran down his long spine. He needed to land; if he kept flying like this, he would surely succumb to his injures and die. So, reluctantly, he descended from the cloud layer and landed in an empty courtyard, then looked around wearily. When he was sure it was safe to shift, Xiaotong slowly let the process commence, and in under a minute he took the form of a human male. Pressing a hand to his side, Xiaotong stared at his wound with an angry glint in his eyes, and with a low hiss he forced himself to start walking. He knew he needed to find help, but no one could be trusted. Both humans and shifters would turn him over in a heartbeat, so he had to be cautious. He needed to find someone who knew nothing about him. That would be tough. A quiet growl of annoyance rumbled in his throat.

It surprised Xiaotong that he was still alive. He was leaning up against a wall with his hands clamped over the shot wound, which was sticky with blood. His clothes were stained red, and he reeked of metal. he wouldn't last much longer like this.

    Warning: Hidden Scrolling

    (( Thats fine ))

Brook sighed as she walked back towards her house. Over the years she had spent hiding, she had managed to buy a fairly big house. There may or may not have been many secret passages within, in case she would be found out to be a dragon shifter. Crossing her arms, she glanced up at the sky. She had missed the black and red dragon flying down to the grounds by a mere few seconds.

She had the sinking feeling in her stomach that something was going to happen. What, she had no idea. It didn't matter, though. She figured that she'd find out soon enough. Besides, that sinking feeling made her stay alert of her surroundings.

It wasn't long before she finally arrived back at her house. She unlocked the small door by the gate, not feeling like opening it all the way or climbing over it. Locking the door behind her, she turned around. As she did so, she finally caught sight of the dragon. He was in his human form, of course, but as a dragon, Brook, or Korimizu, as that was her true name, had a much better sense of smell than humans. She was sure that he was a dragon, considering all dragons had used their magic to transform into humans. He most certainly did not smell like a human.

The young ice/water dragon remained still and silent, staring at him with a small frown.

  • [center][fancypost=backgground-color: none; border: none; width: 425px; text-align: justify; color: white; font-family: arial; font-size: 9pt]♡ ♡ ♡ Just a few moments after Xiaotong he thought he was starting to overcome the pain, a sudden wave of agony hit him like a wave and sent him to his knees. His eyes were screwed shut and a grimace of pain could be seen upon his lips; the wound wasn't getting better, it was getting worse. The agony was practically unbearable at this point, and blood was beginning to dribble down his chin. Unlike most humans, he could loose a lot more blood than they could. Dragons had excellent healing factors and regenerative capabilities, but those perks didn't seem like they were working. Eventually, it dawned upon him that they must have shot him with a special bullet, one crafted with a dragon's blood. He wouldn't be able to heal with one of those lodged in his side, that was for sure. Unwrapping one hand from his side, he used it to stabilize himself, and hissing lowly he tried to stand. Almost immediately after he stood, his legs crumpled underneath him, and he was back to his knees. This time, though, a quiet yelp escaped his lips when he hit the ground. Pain rippled up his spine, and due to the intensity he gave up with a sigh of defeat. Standing wasn't an option. As long as that bullet was inside of him, he wouldn't be able to stand. So, sitting down, he lifted up his shirt so the wound was visible.

The process was quite painful and dangerous, but he managed to remove the bullet. It was about the size of his palm, and he grimaced when he saw it. Tossing the accursed object away Xiaotong leaned up against the wall again, then pressed his hands into the wound. He didn't even notice the other staring at him from afar.

    (( WARNING: HIDDEN SCROLLING ))

Brook rolled her eyes, slowly making her way towards the other dragon. Her face seemed rather bored, as she saw no reason to keep up her kind facade. She stopped a few feet away.

Letting out a sigh, Brook decided to finally speak,"So, care to tell me how, exactly you turned out like this...?" She stuffed her hands into the pockets of her dress , tilting her head a bit as she waited for a response. She, of course, wasn't going to let him die, no matter how he ended up like this. There was no point in getting revenge on the humans if there were no dragons left. Even if they acted stupid and attacked. It was just adding fuel to the humans fire.

Well, she assumed he had attacked a city. For all she knew he could have been found out and ran. It did intrigue her, though, as to why he didn't seem to be regenerating. Perhaps something was stopping him? She had just watched him pull a bullet out of the wound, however gruesome it may see.
