For the time being, she wasn't letting anyone else touch her leg. She wanted to look at it, first, she had decided.

Naoise had found herself some place cool and set herself down there, one paw gently probing the congealed gore of her leg. More than one set of jaws had closed around it, trying to wrench it out of place, rip the skin away. They had succeeded in the latter, at least. And it was definitely sprained. She withdrew her paw, covered it in a few licks and looked away as if trying to ignore the existence of her wound for a short while. just long enough to think. That's all her visit here was, really, just thinking. About her old home and whether she'd get it back, how long she should stay here and if it should be a long term thing...Naoise wasn't a fan of 'long term' arrangements, but if they could prove themselves to be beneficial then...

She sighed and her copper eyes shut. The first step, before anything else, would be to find someone to help her wrap her leg up.

    TEMULJIN KHAN

[font=georgia]There was the reek of blood in the air that alarmed Temuljin. The dire wolf did not see anything being slaughtered or sounds of alarm coming, but following the scent, he came upon the injured clouded leopard. Temuljin was generally aware of who came to the Khanate from the reports of his inferiors and did his best to meet them all to see what they could offer to the Khanate in return for shelter and companionship. Naoise was one who he did not have the pleasure of meeting yet.

The ruddy wolf tilted his head slightly as he approached the clouded leopard, noting the blood on her leg. "Naoise," he offered, dipping his head in greeting. "Temuljin. Pleasure to meet you." He pointedly turned his green eyes towards the wound and raised a brow slightly. "Looks like you were in a fight...let's get you a shaman and to somewhere sheltered." His own ger would do and he would send someone to fetch one of the shamans to check on Naoise.

The Khanate welcomed anyone who would obey the Khan, but Koko was not quite as friendly toward those unused to their ways and customs: it seemed to him that, unless someone had proved that they knew the Khanate's ways just as well as someone born in the group, they ought not to be treated that way. It was not a popular view, and he tended to keep it to himself.

Approaching the copper eyed clouded leopard after Temuljin, his eyes flickered down to her bloody wound. It had to hurt, but when he searched her face for any sign of pain, he didn't see even the slightest tightening around her jaw. "You're new," he commented, pausing to shift his eyes toward Temuljin in a plain sort of greeting. "Koko." As the Khan spoke, Koko wrinkled his nose with faint distaste but offered, "I'll fetch a shaman."

"I'm fine where I am." She responded coolly. She would move when she wanted, and didn't want to be prodded around like cattle. If they were bringing someone to help her, though, she wouldn't protest.

She cleared her throat. "I haven't heard very much about your group." Naoise began casually, the tip of her tail twitching upward. She wanted to indicate that she was more or less clueless without the humiliation of spitting it out. For the time being, she knew they were convenient, civil, and called their healers 'shamans'. She let her chin rest on the back of one paw, dark eyes wandering to Koko.

"Naoise." She murmured. "That'd be wonderful." The leopard added wryly.

    TEMULJIN KHAN

[font=georgia]There was a small huff of amusement at her response as the dire wolf regarded her again. An independent spirit, eh? She didn't look like someone who belonged to the Clans--perhaps she was one of those rare loners that wandered the lands, resisting being absorbed into the great amalgamate of Clan life. "The night can be quite cold if you can't find a shelter on the steppes," Temuljin returned. There was a reason why they were so hospitable towards guests--life on the open steppes was hard and it was sometimes necessary to take the kindness of a stranger to survive, and so, one should always be ready to help strangers for the sake of the future.

He glanced over at Koko as the wolf approached, giving him a nod of greeting and thanks at his offer. However, Temuljin's attention slid back over towards Naoise again at her remark. "The Khanate hadn't existed prior to a few moons ago," he answered. "And the tribes of my people mostly keep to themselves. Tengger has given us these lands to live in and the lifestyle to follow--why spurn the gift?" There was a flick of the ear as he continued, "Did you come upon us by chance?" The Khanate had no active recruitment procedure or program of propoganda and just accepted people as they came.
