  • [center][fancypost=background-color:transparent; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9pt]the mutant's bandanna was securely placed over her eyes to hide the three glowing green luminaries that lay underneath the cloth. 0X48 was running so fast that she thought she could never stop and she didn't want to. the mutated feline didn't want to be a burden on shadowclan any longer, so she ran away. yes, it hurt, but it was necessary. what use was a liability? 48's arms were flailing like crazy, acting like they protested the move of their home. there was nothing they could do about it. they were just arms after all. not demons like reducedemotions had thought, but just arms. plain and simple. granted, the child could not control these arms at all but they were still just arms. her the inside of her bat-like ears was radiating a intense glowing green, more intense than usual. 48 figured it was just the adrenaline from running away.

however, the adrenaline quickly halted as her arms grabbed onto a tree, not letting her run any further. the child cringed in pain as they began pulling harder and harder, she could feel the skin connecting them to her body beginning to rip. fearing her vocal cords were too undeveloped for a scream, 48 settled for loud grunts of pain. there was nothing she could do to fight back. one by one the arms ripped from her body, leaving a bloody mess of blood and bones where they were once connected. all four of the bothersome appendages were on the ground twitching next to her as she passed out, wondering if this was it. 48 suddenly regretted running away in the first place.

What the heck was this freakshow? It looked like god got bored and made something random for fun. Bethany let out a quiet noise of distress, ears pinned back. What the heck? The girl huffed and hopped down from a tree, gently poking the passed out mass. Is it dead? she mumbled to herself. She whistled Maura to her side, Free food right? she reached down to pull the soul out of the oth-... Wait... its still alive... Damn it... The girl growled and padded away, watching the other from up high. If it woke up, great. If it didnt. Free soul.

Initially, Mercy was tempted not to approach; all she saw from the distance she was at was Betty and her little companion, and it was blatantly obvious that the younger molly wasn't a fan of her. Mercy couldn't figure out why, though; she hadn't done anything wrong. Well, she didn't think she had. Maybe her distaste for the other was too apparent, but the surgeon felt that she had the right to dislike her, since she'd been rude to her daughter.

But when the crumpled form of 0X48 became apparent after Betty took off, her curiosity was piqued. With pricked ears, Mercy came padding over with a wary expression, starting upon realizing the heap was indeed another feline. The severed limbs that surrounded her were far more striking, however, and she drew in a sharp breath in her shock. "Oh, jeez," she mumbled, wide-eyed. After a moment of scrutiny, she determined that the girl was still breathing. Then she whirled around and raced off, heading for her garden.

Eventually she returned with a little bag stuffed with supplies. With a pounding heart she took out some cobwebs and carefully pressed the bundle against one of the child's open wounds to cease the bleeding. Keeping it pressed down with one forepaw, she reached back into her bag and grabbed a hold of more, before moving onto the next gash. "Hey," murmured the tabby. "You're gonna be fine." She wasn't sure if 0X48 could hear her, but it made Mercy feel more comfortable when she spoke while working.

  • [center][fancypost=background-color:transparent; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9pt]in a way, 48 was relieved that her arms would not be so bothersome anymore. then again... the pain was just too real. it hurt too much and she wanted to give up. but she didn't.

the child had some too far and worked to hard to give up now so she didn't despite the pain and the paws pressing into her wounds, 48 opened her eyes only to be met with the cloth of her bandanna. the voice of mercy pierced her ears and it was all too real. who were these people? her ears were pinned against her skull as the feline worked at her wounds, making 48 wince a tiny bit at the slight pain it caused. however, it started to feel a little better than before. but then again, having four of your arms rip themselves off suddenly did hurt quite a lot.

'i-i-i...' she didn't want to get anymore words out and she just settled for listening in case mercy wanted to talk some more, completely oblivious to betty watching her from above.
