  • She couldn't say that she wanted to do this. It would be hard, however it must be done. ”Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around highrock for a Clan meeting.” She called out calmly. ”Now, I have a few announcements. Firstly thank you all for getting activity up, we were quite slow there for a time. If we could keep that up, that'd be great. Nextly, I have a few announcements about high positions, gaining them, and the liking.” She paused. ”So to gauge activity in high positions, it will be based on posting in meetings. You miss one and you get a warning. You miss another and you're demoted. Now of course this isn't just based on posting here, but its an activity check.” She paused again to let everyone absorb the information. ”Now, for the main point of this meeting. Icegaze, I'm sorry to say that you're demoted. I haven't seen you in quite some time and although Chubpaw has just began training, he will be the sole member of the healing team. So please, for starclan's sake, be careful because we can't heal everything right now. Avoid Snakerocks and if anybody gets bitten for being there, they will die as we can't heal that. Just your warning. If anyone is caught there, they will instantly be confined to camp for half a moon. That will be all. Any questions?”

  • [fancypost=borderwidth; width: 500px; text-align: justify; line-height: 18px; font-size: 11pt]The deputy arrived with a sharp, respectful nod to her leader, listening with her good ear perked and icy eyes round - the expression she wore when listening intently now adorned her mangled features, making her look as eager as a kit. Though the eagerness faded just slightly at the mention of the demotion, she didn't let it show much. It made sense, actually, so she couldn't object - and why would she? Thornstar was her friend and, ultimately, her leader. She was not one to question her choices. The deputy nodded again, and her quietly stoic face lit up at the mention of her nephew, Chubpaw. Even though the mantle of medicine cat at a young age would be heavy and hard to bear, she knew that the strong little tom could shoulder it. A quiet, but happy smile spread across her scarred maw as she searched for the apprentice, ready to congratulate him.

  • [color=burlywood] Drywind frowned, feeling a sense of loss at Icegaze's demotion. He had been the Thunderclan medicine cat since Drywind was a kit- that was 4 leaders in his duty as healer. And to leave the tiny, inexperienced Chubpaw alone to heal the whole of Thunderclan? This was worrisome news indeed. But the clan could not do with a medicine cat who just simply wasn't around when they were needed. The rest of the meeting seemed pretty straightforward- keep up with your warrior duties, attend the clan meetings and stay away from the snakerocks. Simple enough for even a kit to grasp. This satisfied the slender tom; things in Thunderclan must have been running fairly well.

  • Tanglefoot sat among the throng of cats, her bright pelt standing out somewhat among the earthy tones of the cats nearest to her. She didn't like what she was hearing. She had only ever had one medicine cat, (aside from the succession of apprentices that had been named and either demoted or were no longer with the clan) though she did vaguely remember a time when Cedarstep was medicine cat as well when she was a kit/new apprentice. She liked Icegaze well enough, and respected him, but if he was not following through with his duties to the clan they were all in danger. With eyes clouded with sadness, she listened to the leader go on about other Thunderclan affairs, though nothing really registered with the distractable young warrior aside from the demotion of their valued healer.

  • Whitepaw liked Icegaze. They were not exactly friends but they were on what seemed like good terms. Whitepaw felt kinda guilty at the Snakerock thing but he understood. It was better than another cat getting killed for it. He was worried about Chubpaw. Will he get his medicine cat name? Chubpaw was still very young and it may be hard for him. Whitepaw looked around at the other cats for reactions.

  • ROBINKIT

Roinkit was not old enough to be at the meeting, so she kept her distance and did her best to make out what the leader was saying. The medicine cat had been demoted but the apprentice was staying. Which was a good thing because it would be really bad for the clan to loose the only two cats that knew how to heal. Her green eyes kept a look out, wondering if Honeynose would be showing up to the meetin since it had been awhile since she saw them. ""

  • && To be quite honest, Branchpaw was incredibly worried about this turn of events. He understood that they couldn't keep a position filled by someone that wasn't around, but that meant that Chubpaw was without a mentor. The clan was without an experienced healer. He had faith in his nephew, but faith alone wouldn't teach Chubpaw the necessary skills when it came to healing. Would they need to ask for the assistance of the other medicine cats? Would they be willing to take on the new apprentice and teach him what he needed to know? Branchpaw hoped that something would be figured out.

Other than that one announcement, he wasn't really affected by the news. He had realized that Snakerocks was dangerous ever since he was a kit in the nursery and, with the influx of snakes around, it would be quite an idiotic idea to visit them at this time. It wasn't like it had large amounts of prey, or even any herbs that he knew of. The tom didn't understand why anyone would go there in the first place, other than to make sure no larger predators had taken up living among the snake infested stones.

  • Marshkit clambered over his denmate, Robinkit, trying to get a good view of the leader adressing the clan. The young kit was always in awe whenever Thornstar took highrock; she looked so powerful and graceful at her post, with her clan in attention. It was really an admirable sight to behold. He didn't really understand what the seal point was saying, and he couldn't really make out much that was of interest to him, so he just watched from afar and secretly imagined himself someday up their with the sun hitting his pelt and the stars of silverpelt in his eyes.

  • OOC: (IC opinions)

IC: Iceforest frowned at the Highrock from where she sat, finding the demotion disturbing. She was no medicine cat, but could this possibly be an omen of some sort? Icegaze had been their medicine cat for moons, probably longer than most high positions that had appeared ever since half the clan went missing in the night. Why would he suddenly be less active enough to warrant a demotion? And even then, why demote their best healer? Iceforest herself knew a little healing from her loner days, and every warrior picked up some healing over time, but no one but another fully trained medicine cat could completely fulfill the role; and she doubted they would ask another clan for help with something like this, unless it was to train Chubpaw more. Might Starclan guide another cat to the position, as they'd guided her to be a warrior? She wasn't about to be nosy in Icegaze's business--she respected him far too much for that--but she couldn't shake a bad vibe. If it wasn't for the reason of a drop in activity (which certainly put cats' health on the line), she'd say this was a foolish idea. However, even more forward leaders like they'd had in recent moons had benefits. She vaguely wondered what Mangledheart, once Dapplestar, would think. Was she listening from Starclan at this particular moment? Mangledheart had been firey and forward in her youth--what would the elder warrior spirit think of now? A memory of overhearing her complaining about apprentices in her last moon or two brightened Iceforest's mood enough for a little more optimism.

  • Without any commentary the warrior gave a nod of her head, tail resting around her paws. Icegaze had been medicine cat for as long as she could remember. Chubpaw was young, childish; she feared what would become of the Clan without a medicine cat who knew the way the world of medicine worked. She kept her tongue silent and her eyes forward, wondering what her Clanmates were thinking.

  • Marigold hearing her mother's call for a meeting. Sitting with a confused look in her eyes, Icegaze was gone? Oh dear starclan only one medicine cat was going to be part of the clan. Her ears flattened with nervousness and heavy with concern. Her mother knew best but she was still scared. Her yellow eyes focused on the ground worriedly. Fear covered their yellow pools as she curled her tail around her paws in concern.

  • Feather approached slowly as she settled herself around the back of the group. This would be her first meeting, and to say the least, it was sort of odd to experience. She didn't understand much of the high position portion of the meeting, and she didn't really know who Icegaze was. The young apprentice looked around the group to see who it was, but only caught a glimpse of the demoted feline. She continued to remain quiet, to hear what anyone else might say.

  • Glacierpaw couldn't help but notice his ears flattened as he had found his place toward the back of the crowd for the meeting. Hearing that the clan's medicine cat had been demoted was frightening to say the least. Glacierpaw did not know Icegaze by any means but the idea that young Chubpaw who had only recently been apprentice now being the clan's only medicine cat would definitely be shocking. He wondered how the apprentice would finish his training? Perhaps another cat would step in? Or maybe a Medicine cat from another clan would be willing to help? Though as Glacierpaw thought about it would Thornstar allow another clan's medicine cat to finish Chubpaw's training? He shook the thought away. Usually the young snow colored tom wasn't very interested in clan affairs though this time it was a bit different. He understood why Thornstar made the decision she made, but at the same time he feared the well being of the clan. He'd bite his tongue, this wasn't a situation he'd fuss about. As the leader went on to mention the danger of Snakerocks he understood her decision about that as well. He had heard a bit about the hazards that Snakerocks has suddenly become and he knew he'd avoid it like the plague. He was not a mouse brain and he had no interest in getting bitten up. He hoped in time to hear some good news in these meetings, he felt the clan was riddled with bad news. Well, what could he do?

  • [center][fancypost=background-color: none; bordercolor=transparent; text-align:justify; borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-size: 9; line-height:110%;]Losteye arrived at the meeting next, although he was shamefully late. The announcements all seemed reasonable, as well as the single demotion. Icegaze had been rather absent of late, which was unfortunate for Chubpaw, and all of ThunderClan; not having a medicine cat was not good. "Noted," The warrior stated monotonously with a curt nod.
