  • Lance rolled back over and was surprised at how close Kate had gotten. "Well, hey." he chuckled lightly, his eyes red and slightly puffy. He sniffled a little then shook his head. "Ah, sorry. I don't have a good history with singing." Lance tried to chuckle again and keep his silly facade up. He'd never let his walls down around anyone before, not even his father, and he didn't plan to do it around Kate, a girl from his school whom he'd not really talked to before this stupid dare to come to an abandoned amusement park for Jane's entertainment.

  • It was shocking how he had changed from mr tough guy, to someone she kinda trusted. "It's ok, I have a rough home life, so I know about bad history Lance."she said quietly.

  • "Yes, but I'm sure you weren't forced to kill your mother, the woman whom used to enjoy your singing voice much more than anyone else. And I'm sure your father doesn't hate you for it. Ah, sorry, I don't like venting because I think it makes me seem like an attention seeker." Lance chuckled, smiling at Kate as he wiped away the tears. "Honestly, I promised myself I would never sing again because of how badly it reminded me of her."

  • She gasped as she heard the sobbed words come out of Lance's mouth. "No Lance, I want to hear you vent, it's nice to be able to listen and help. I don't judge, I don't have a reason to."Kate said running her hand on his arm. She felt the biggest urge to take all the pain away. "Sometimes the worst things, bring out the most beautiful."

  • Lance smiled softly. "You're really nice. I wonder why people at school think you're so...well, not like me." He raised a small eyebrow, and hesitated. He was going to hug her, but decided against it, faking a yawn and running his hand through his black hair. "Uh, we oughta...I mean, go to sleep...y'know."

  • She blushed and looked away. She had almost acted upon her feelings. "Yah I don't know either."she said not looking him in the eye. She moved over and got under her blanket. She layed there for an hour and got up to look at Lance.

  • Lance was laying still, head down, eyes droopy. He felt drowsy, and it wasn't long before quiet, soft breaths escaped his mouth and the attractive boy was fast asleep. He pulled his blanket further up over him in his sleep, smiling and little and murmuring some incoherent words.

  • Kate didn't like the dark, but she hadn't admitted that to Lance. She scooted over to get near him. She pulled her balnket around her and felt Lance's warmth. Soon, she had fallen asleep, her breaths soft and light matching his.

Lance's eyes flew open. He looked around. Daylight streamed in through the windows. Yawning, he sat up and stretched out his arms. He searched for Kate and found her after a little while. A fond smile crossed his face and he shook her gently. "Kate. Kate, wake up."

  • Kate felt arms shaking her gently, and her eyes opened softly. She let out a baby yawn, and cuddled up with the blanket a little more. "No I wanna go to sleepppp". she siad softly.

Lance yelped at the pillow, but he was quick to tear it away and lob it right back at her. He fumbled in his open bag for his glasses and grasped them when he felt them. He pulled them out, but the lenses were cracked. He blinked and peered at them closely, bringing them into his range of vision. "What the...I don't remember cracking them..."

  • Kate's eyes opened wide when he had spoke. She reached for her own glasses, and found them to be in perfect shape. "Mine are ok though..." she said looking up at him. "Good thing I brought my contacts, you can wear my glasses, if they work for you."she said handing them to him. Lots of weird things were happening now, she had thought she saw shadows last night, but maybe not? That sixth sense came back though, ushering her to go outside. Kate got up fast, and opened the door to the ticket booth and gasped.

When Kate's glasses didn't work, he resorted to using his own broken ones. The sun outside blared into his eyes when he looked, having finished slipping his cracked glasses on. He scrambled up and to Kate's side. "What? What is it?"

  • Once the sun's glare had not hurt her vision, the scene played out for her. Their items had been scattered out amongst the garbage. "What the literal hell?!?!?!"she screamed. Whoever had done this was so going to pay, but she knew that it wasn't someone it was a something.

Lance bent over and scooped up a book. He raised an eyebrow and looked around, muttering a few curse words under his breath. "If this is Jane f*cking with us, I'm really gonna kill her when we leave." He let the book drop to the floor. It was oddly soggy. He trudged further outside and looked around again, folding his arms stubbornly. This was not cool.

  • Kate sat there and just looked in disarray. The whole scene kinda made her want to cry. All of her items had been thrown, she would never get some of them back. "If it is her, I'll kill her myself, but Lance, it isn't...."she said turning to him. "Whoever that was killed here, doesn't want us to be here." Kate said looking away. She thought about how she couldn't sleep last night, like something was trying to talk to her, to tell her through some ESP to go away. Kate didn't know if she could trust Lance, or if he would think she was crazy.
