Lance continued walking, but smiled back at her. "My mistake. I'll believe you word for word from now on." he promised, holding the door to the ticket booth open for her.

She thanked him and went to sit by her things. "Noone ever believes my bad feelings, so usually I am the crazy lady." she said looking down. She grabbed her bag and took out her blanket.
-
Lance shrugged and pulled out his own blanket, putting his glasses away in his bag. "Everyone always believes me because I'm the massive smartass of the school. I'd be lying if I said I liked it." he murmured solemnly.
-
She looked up at him, and gave him a little smile. "It's ok, smartasses aren't bad people."she said getting her pillow ready.
-
Lance smiled softly back at her. "I guess not. I feel a little uncomfortable without any defenses or something when we're in a creepy abandoned amusement park at night, so lemme just..." He dragged a chair and propped it up against the door but did nothing to cover the windows as moonlight began to stream in. Lance sighed and rested under his blanket, using his backpack as a pillow. "I guess my being a royal marine cadet helps my instincts in these situations."
-
She laid down, not ready to fall asleep. She wanted to talk more and more to Lance. "You mean aside from being a boy scout?"she said grinning. Some how, she hoped he wouldn't go to sleep just yet, he would want to talk to her as much as she wanted to talk to him.
-
Lance was staring at the ceiling and he chuckled. "The U.S. marines would take offense if they ever heard you say that. I was never a boy scout, been a marine cadet as long as I can remember." He went silent for a while, memories of the marines detachment flashing through his head. Then he spoke. "What about you? You do anything outside of school?"
-
She was looking at a hole in the ceiling, but looked at Lance, when he spoke to her. "Yah, it is quite embarressing tho. I might as well tell you."she said blushing, hoping he didn't see it. "I sing......in a band."
-
Lance nearly sat up straight, but instead turned his head to the left, even if Kate was just a blur. The dim moonlight didn't help his eyesight one bit, either, yet his left eyebrow still arced over his brown eye a little. "A band? I didn't know you could sing." He hesitated, before a smile covered his face and he spoke again. "Do you mind singing something for me?" Lance couldn't believe Kate was in a band. He was too, but then there was the whole incident with his mother and after that he started marine cadets instead.
-
She blushed and looked away. "I don't know.... I mean it's just a little thung, not like I am actually great you know?" she said looking at Lance with a sad face on. " I also don't have a song in mind."
-
Lance thought for a moment. "We'll strike a deal. I'll sing if you sing." Lance shuddered. It'd been years since he'd last sung, and he promised himself not to do it again. But he really wanted to hear Kate sing, and he supposed it wasn't too bad to let himself sing for a bit.
-
" Give me a tune than."she said standin up. Her posture had to be upright for this. If she was going to embarress herself she should do it the right way.
-
Lance's urn to embarrass himself. "Sorry, I'm not at all good with music words and phrases and stuff. What exactly do you mean?" he asked timidly, flushing a deep red.
-
"Ha, I meant a song boyscout." she said laughng loudly.
-
Lance thought for a moment. "I'm not sure if it's the type of song you like but you could sing the female part of Closer and I'll join with the male?" Lance lacked ideas right now and it was the best thing he came up with.
-
"I've heard it a couple of times, I can try.. " she said looking up at him.
-
Lance smiled. "Okay, go on then. I promise I won't judge." He propped himself up against the wall and watched her blurry figure with his hazel eyes. "In fact, I bet you're pretty good."
-
She looked around and started belting out tyhe notes in soprano. it was sweet and softly carried out.
-
Lance joined in when need be. His voice was strong and he laid down again as he sang. He finished quickly though, for tears were streaming down his face. "Ah, sorry. Had something in my eye." Lance turned his back to Kate so he could wipe his tears as subtly as possible.
-
She looked at him and smiled a little. "Sure thing Mr. boyscout." Kate scooted over towards him, and waited for him to look at her.
