  • [center][fancypost=background-color:transparent; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9pt]0X48 was tired of loathing her appearance all the time. so what if she had weird human-like arms? so what if her ears and three eyes glowed green? so what if she had three tails? so what if she was quite large and had glowing white markings? it's not like she could do anything to change it unless amputation was an option. she shivered at the thought, a surgery performed by anyone other than a human. it was weird to think about. the child looked at herself in the mirror and inhaled, taking in the realization that this was who she was and she couldn't do anything about it. the bandanna she used for so long to cover up the trifecta of optics on her forehead was being delicately held in one of her hands, unsure if she wanted to set it down. from the time she was born, it was like a crutch. a safety blanket. a shield so she didn't have to see the disgusted looks of those around her. no more. the feline-like creature carefully secured the cloth around her neck and nodded to her reflection. 48 was quite pleased. was this normal? to be pleased with yourself? the child honestly had no idea, she was still new to the whole... feeling thing.

48 stepped outside and breathed in the fresh air, only to have her short burst of confidence be ruined as she tripped over one of her arms. at this point, the child just felt like laying there for the rest of her life.

roman]Sango wasn't exactly a pretty sight either. She stood at an impressive height upon long limbs with a slender body, her ribs often visible beneath her short gray-ish fur. She had wide, large, bat-like ears pierced with silver rings. Her tail was long and thin, almost looking fragile as the bones were easily to see beneath her stretched skin. Her face was always stony, she couldn't show much emotion with her eyes so... so vacant and unchanging. She was, generally, an unattractive female. But she never quite dwelled on her appearance nor others, she didn't care.

    "You cool?"
The hellhound would inquire as he loped over towards 48, who had tripped up over one of their own limbs and fallen into a heap on the jungle's floor. "Need some help?" She could easily lift them up and set them back on their feet, but, some people didn't really appreciate when she did that. 48's appearance didn't go unnoticed, that was for sure, as the canine had been sure to size her up before approaching. But, like said, Sango didn't care what others looked liked too much.

TAKE A SIP OF MY SECRET POTION— Elizabeth — Ext. Shadowclan — 6 months

[fancypost=border-width:0px; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%]Elizabeth had yet to form personal issues on her appearance, although many, especially girls, did. The kitsune had been exposed to very little, after all, and had yet to recognize that she was one of the many things on Earth that were quite easy on the eyes, even with the frown that had covered her face almost permanently since her mother's demise.

The grey, fluffed kitsune had glanced up, supressing a shudder at the appearance of the other child. It was odd to her, honestly, that such a creature could exist. She wondered, momentarily, if this was the creature that had clawed her mother's soul out of her body.

Eliza dismissed the assumption, realizing that this creature did not possess the shadows that had swallowed her whole.

And then this ugly creature fell.

Worry took over the femme's face for just a moment, dismissing the expression as she walked over and took a spot next to Sango, who she believed to be, well, her grandmother. Wasn't that lovely? The grandparent she'd never asked for, the mother of her absent father. Wasn't this just peachy.
"You'll be alright- everyone trips up once in awhile," she murmured towards the younger child.

    "speech" 'thought' action

  • reducedemotions

Reducedemotions thought he looked alright. He didn't really dwell on issues of physical appearance. Like the demon said, nobody cares how pretty you are after you're mangled to death. To the fennec fox, 0X48 didn't appear all that strange. Hey, if demons and hellhounds and smoke foxes existed what was wrong with some cat that had four arms? Truthfully, perhaps they could be arranged to be a little more pleasing to the eye, but again, he didn't dwell on issues of physical appearance all that much.

He padded over, looking at the cat who was still lying on the ground. "Same," he replied instinctively. He had times where he tripped and just decided to give up for a day. Reflecting on the situation, it was kind of odd for him to say the word "same" considering his personality. Probably demonic influence. She was good at being sarcastic and relatable.

  • [center][fancypost=background-color:transparent; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9pt]the child felt a weird burning sensation under her pelt and dubbed it a reaction from the fall, obviously not knowing what embarrassment was. 48 looked at the three members, one being the leader she was pretty sure, and sighed. they had just seen her totally wipe out due to her weird appendages. however, 48 did take notice most of them were not usual breeds, and that made her feel slightly more at home. perhaps she would just stay here instead of trudging off to god knows where.

0X48 made a move to stand up with her forelegs, but her human-like arms quickly swiped her paws out from underneath her. 48 wished she could just rip these things off and never have to worry about them again, it was like they had a mind of there own. the child looked up at sango and nodded for her help, not exactly set on trying to speak since there was more than one creature present.

the other younger member's, elizabeth, words made her feel slightly better, but the burning feeling returned again as she quickly dubbed it an excuse. yes, everyone trips, but not everyone has uncontrollable arms protruding from their flanks. and when reducedemotions just said 'same', it confused her greatly, but she chose not to dwell on it. common colloquialisms were confusing.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px][font=verdana][size=9][align=justify]Perhaps, out of everyone here, Haiiro was the one who cared the least about appearances, or what others looked like. After all, there was no way that he could see them, and so it was impossible for the boy to judge based on appearances that he was oblivious to. Did it make him any kinder? That remained to be seen, but he liked to think it did, as he was always free from a visually-based judgmental attitude. Montego would never have to worry about him scorning her appearance, or being scared of something as simple as what she looked like. No matter what, she would never be as horrifying as the creatures of his nightmares, strange amalgamations of shadows, and birds, and knives. Nothing could be worse than that, he thought (and he hoped so as well).

Feeling his way over to where she had fallen not because he knew she fell, but because there were quite a few people surrounding the extremely shy 0X48, and he wanted to be there to help her out if she so desired. It was what friends did. And so he approached with a kind smile aimed towards Montego, large gray ears flicking towards each person in turn. "Hey Montego. How are you?" the boy inquired, hoping that she would be okay with answering him when there were so many people. If only she knew that, should she sign into his side, he would be able to understand and sign back, even though he only knew the alphabet.

  • [center][fancypost=background-color:transparent; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9pt]if she had heard haiiro's thought process, the mutant would be considerably confused. friends? she barely knew what a friend was. sure haiiro and some others showed her kindness, but were they doing it out of the kindness of their own heart? or for their own personal gain? at haiiro's approach, montego's glowing bat ears swiveled in his direction and a tiny, almost minuscule smile graced her marred features. what a lovely surprise.

she would've been more happy to see the boy if she wasn't still on the ground, too afraid to get up just to have her arms attack again. they were not nice. 48 also liked how haiiro referred to her as montego like fell had, it was nice. he was nice. haiiro had helped her whenever her arms were uncontrollable.

she felt somewhat more comfortable with her friend around, so perhaps she could get a few words out before making a complete fool of herself. "i-i am o-okay.." she had hoped to crack a joke she had heard, but that was probably not going to happen in her current situation. "h-how are.. you?"

  • Bhoopesh learned early on that judging based on appearance was something that was wrongful and immoral. From the age of four months, she knew that not one person was quite the same as the next and variations were numerous from individual to the next, but that did not mean they had to be segregated. While she had been rather normal looking from age 3 and up, the loss of her eye by sickness and injury had given her a new outlook on life, even if she had been too young to understand.

Despite her age, Bhoopesh still acted as childish as before, even as her appearance had matured moderately. She still loved childish games, still found joy in the mud, still scampered around and drew shoddy pictures and called the frogs 'hoppers'. As such, she felt very in tune with OX48 and couldn't help but compliment her with the brightest smile she could make. "Wow! You look super cool!!" the pale cat cheered happily, her pearly blue eye gazing upon the mutated feline and the cavity where her other eye used to be shrouding with darkness. "Your eyes are so pretty! Where did you get the other one? Did you ask someone for it? I want one too!"

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px][font=verdana][size=9][align=justify]At first, when Montego spoke, Haiiro was confused. Did he voice usually come from so far below him? Sure, he was tall (not to the extent of Sango, but still tall), but she didn't usually sound so physically distant. Had she changed bodies, and he simply didn't know? That would be embarrassing, seeing as he liked to think of himself as her friend. What kind of friend would he be if he didn't even notice that someone he was close to had changed? Expression shifting to a mix of guilt and curiosity, the canine-like creature asked, "Are you, uh shorter? Or did you fall?" Hopefully she had just fallen, although he felt guilty for hoping that was the situation, only because it wasn't good for her, but for him instead.

Focus on Montego, Haiiro was admittedly shocked at the excited arrival of... who was that, again? Was it someone that he hadn't had a chance to meet yet. More likely than not, that was the case, but he truly hoped it wasn't someone that he had met before, and had simply forgotten their scent. He didn't like forgetting people, even if they were bad - especially if they were bad, because then he wouldn't know to be on alert when he noticed them. At lest she was being kind to Montego, and so he assumed that she was a good person. Hopefully he was right.

  • [center][fancypost=background-color:transparent; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9pt]cool? she looked... like a temperature? the young child did not understand colloquialisms that much, but she supposed the stranger meant it as a compliment. perhaps the exuberant female was a new member for 0X48 had not seen her around that much. granted, she didn't get out all that much either for a multitude of reasons. her arms began feeling up the ground beneath her as she studied bhoopesh and haiiro, who seemed rather confused on her current position. she had not realized till now his possible blindness. ask someone for it? why would she ask for deformities that marred her entire body? 48 simply shook her head at bhoopesh. "i was b-born like t-this." it was true, and it's not like she could help her appearance right now. maybe she could talk to someone later about learning to control her extra appendages, they were quite bothersome. "i-i'm 0X48.. o-o-or m-m-mont-t-ego.." the growing crowd began to affect her nerves, but haiiro's presence, someone she knew was nice, eased them.

however, haiiro's question confused her quite a lot. why would she be shorter? the child felt the small smile come back at the odd question, but it soon disappeared as she remembered her current position. "i-i-i fell.." getting the word 'fell' out was much easier since fell was the name of one of her friends. she missed fell a lot.

The fox blinked as he watched the arms attached to 0X48 quite literally prevent her from standing back up. Were they a parasite? Demon? Enemy? They seemed to be a problem, for the feline at least. Should he kill them? Would that hurt the cat? Having lived the life he did, he couldn't think of solutions to living problems past murdering them. He had bonded with the words 'When you kill people, they die' over months until it was the only thing he could trust. And dead people couldn't hurt anyone. Unless, unless they were ghost. He never quite found out if ghosts were real. He asked the demon once, but she just kinda laughed.

"Can I help? Would killing them hurt you?" He asked in the bluntest way possible, reaching out a paw to point at one of them before reconsidering and pulling it back.
