That was worse.

The clouded leopard dragged herself up to the border of this new place and then beyond it, blood speckling the grass behind her. She wasn't concerned about leaving a trail for her assailants to follow. The attack wasn't personal. Just some freaks who needed land. And speaking of freaks... Naoise didn't know much about this place except that it was nearby and quiet enough for her to rest and think about her next move. She knew even less about who inhabited it, but she wasn't bothered by that, not really. She was tired and bloody and had no concerns about whether she'd be accepted. Most folks had their own tiny little codes of honor when it came to cases like hers. She could bat her eyes and wince a little for good measure, if she wanted. Relying on pity like that almost pained her as much as the loss of her old home did, but it was necessary. Those bastards got her hind leg good. Hunting would be a chore with an injury like that.

Naoise came to a stop, claws digging into the earth beneath her for stability while a low and impatient growl rumbled in her chest. "You just gonna let me come up in here without a proper welcome?" She remarked wryly.

  • Ganbaatar should have probably greeted this female with a kind attitude, she was meant to be a guest after all. She had walked in here injured and hurt, he wanted to be nice to her, he was going to, but after hearing the way the clouded leopard grumbled with an attitude in her tone he frowned and stepped forward with his features still wrinkled with a deep scowl. Azure eyes locked ahead and the giant, antlered dire towered over the smaller breed of big cat. His gaze was still and stern and drawing in some air into his huge lungs the colonel sighed and finally spoke, his voice surprisingly higher pitched considering his intimidating stature. "I will decide if you are worthy of a proper welcome." The feminine man grumbled right back, barely parting his lips as he spoke through his teeth. Lowering his head, Ganba fell quiet for a few seconds before demanding something more. "Name. Business."

  • It was unusual for Arid to be out this far in the territory - perhaps it was the fact that spring was coming much faster than she thought possible. The possibility made her nervous. Skittish, she had ventured into the less-traded areas. It seemed she had hit an active spot, though; once she smelled Ganbaatar on the wind, she immediately considered turning around, but the fact that another foreign scent was with him piqued her curiosity. Arid wasn't such a terrible gossip, but she had her weak points, and it'd be quite shocking if Ganbaatar had a secret affair or something of the sort.

Coming up from the side, she watched the two from afar, keeping her distance. Even from the length she could see that Naoise was hurt, which alarmed her. If this was a hostile situation, Ganbaatar could deal with it. Since it hadn't elevated to that, though, Arid decided to linger just a second longer, large eyes set intently on the stranger.

    NARANGEREL BORJIGIN

[font=Georgia]Narangerel had been stalking some birds when she heard the sound of someone nearby. The little lynx couldn't help but flatten herself, her eyes wide as she wondered who was nearby--and who had the audacity to speak like that. Peeking up over the brown grass, the lynx sniffed the air to smell a few foreign scents on the wind. The girl recognized that of her elder brother, Ganbaatar, and a little bit of Arid's, whom she had heard was joining their camp for a bit. However, Naoise's smell was strange.

Curious, the lynx padded up closer to the scene, ears perked. "Elder Brother, Arid ma'am," she greeted the two properly before her attention turned towards the clouded leopard. Elder Brother Ganbaatar could come off as a little bit ornery, so she was curious as to how this would turn out. Narangerel had come upon all sorts of newcomers to the Khanate ever since Temuljin had declared war on the Exiles--some seemed attracted to the Khanate's freedom, others to their sense of duty. She wondered what Naoise had come here for.

Well, she certainly hoped that attitude wasn't common here, or else she'd have no choice but to drag her injured self elsewhere.

"Name's Naoise." She jerked her head as if to gesture over one shoulder to her gored leg. "I need a place to stay." She explained frostily, hoping the particulars of her situation would be left unquestioned. "That's not gonna be a problem, is it?" She added, tongue darting out to wet her lips as others came forward. Her copper eyes rested on the others, lingering for perhaps longer than necessary before travelling back to the male who had first addressed her.

    NARANGEREL BORJIGIN

[font=Georgia]// ahh sorry about the late reply

Nee-sha. What a pretty name. The little lynx's ears pricked slightly as she leaned in closer, curious about the clouded leopard. She'd seen snow leopards before--and that was what she assumed Naoise to be when she first spotted her, but Narangerel realized that this feline was certainly different. Naoise looked much leaner than a snow leopard and more lithe, with marvelous dark patterns on her fur that were thicker and more prominent than that of the snow leopard. She was pretty.

"You're pretty, ma'am." Narangerel couldn't help but blurt it out. However, she realized it was so very out of turn for her. Great Tengger! Hiding her embarrassment by staring at the ground, the lynx hoped that she could distract the others from her exclamation by continuing with business as usual as possible. Her next words came out very quickly, as if all the words were one sentence. "Uhmmm---yes, it's no problem as long as you are willing to abide by the laws while you are here."

Her head tipped almost imperceptibly to one side. "I'd look a lot prettier patched up and fed." Naoise responded lowly. The lynx's next words gave her incentive to groan, but she stifled it. Right. This group had laws, like so many others. So long as they didn't get in her way, she supposed she could suffer the condescension long enough to heal.

"Right well...You could tell me the specifics later. I'm not here to start trouble." She promised gruffly. Not exactly agreeing to abide by the laws but whatever. At least her promise was true. Naoise had no intention to stir anything up. With that, the leopard took the first few steps forward, clutching her gored hind leg up close to her underbelly.

    NARANGEREL BORJIGIN

[font=Georgia]Narangerel swallowed hard as she noted that Naoise had indeed made note of her comment. She didn't seem perplexed or anything by it, which was good, and no one else seemed to be...well...critical of her. Grinning, the lynx offered the clouded leopard a bright smile before answering, "I agree, ma'am!"

She was also pleased that Naoise had agreed to not cause any trouble. Temuljin was rather lenient on travelers--they were always a source of news that he could get information from when he couldn't get it from the birds. Narangerel straightened up smartly as she turned. "If you could follow me! Good food and a nice resting spot is right up!"
