  • (Sorry, I won't let him catch any more prey right now. 8))

Kole felt the wind. He held the rabbit, it was skinny and would barely feed a cub. The wind seemed to be getting stronger. He could hear a faint sound, but could not tell where it came from or what they were saying. He could not see the cave. "MOMMY!" He shouted, very scared.

  • ooc: That's fine :)

ic: Kagela almost did not hear her son in the wind. When she did, she gave a scream into the darkness as the icy snowflakes bit at her face.

    "KOLE!"

Bounding towards the sound of his voice she didn't even notice him there till she was right in front of him. Without a second thought she picked him up by the scruff, terrified she was going to lose him. They still had to find Kameo and there was no sign of her at all out here.

    ooc: Kameo's gone missing...

  • (Wow, a lot of tension! 8))

Kole felt so cold, he felt like passing out.

(Is is possible for him to pass out from being so cold in the snow of a blizzard?)

  • ooc: Yes, very possible.

ic: Kagela quickly carried him into the den and placed him there. "Here, warm up. My daughter's out there, she's still out there and I can't find her."

Nyarthotep rose. "Keep him warm, he's in bad shape. I'll go find Kameo." The tom exited out into the storm and was gone from view.

    Kagela furiously groomed Kole.

  • Rylande shrugged, knowing it was true. He then turned his attention to the other cougars. There really was a blizzard out there.. He was glad he had found this group in time. He wasn't in the mood for freezing to death.

  • "Be careful!" Kagela watched Nyarthotep brave the storm, then she was back to trying to revive her son. "Stupid cubs...I told them to stay inside!"

  • Kole's breath was slow and he gasped for air, the rabbit was dropped when he was carried in. He felt the warn tongue of his mother.

  • "You catch that? Wow, good work." Kagela had not heard of a kitten catching something that size at this age. But she'd always known her kits were special. She continued to groom him, hoping that that got him to come back to a waking state.

  • Kole noticed Kameo was not there. Kole stood up. "Where is Kameo?" Kole asked, worried.

  • "She's missing, and Nyarthotep went to find her. NO you are NOT to go back out there," said Kagela. "You stay right in here until I say it's okay to leave. You almost died out there because you didn't listen to me."

  • "Mom, I am sorry, I have to find Kameo." Kole meowed and took a deep breath. He then raced outside and into the blizzard. He could not see through the snow. He was getting further and further away from the cave.

  • Kagela bounded after him and, being an older adult, cut him off as the winds threatened to bury both of them alive in snow and ice. She made a grab for him though neither of them could barely even see. The temperatures were low enough to be deadly on their own for a cub.

  • "You're not going to find her by freezing to death! We have to wait this out and then go look. Nyarthotep is already looking for her and he's a lot bigger and older. " Kagela picked him up. Even she knew her daughter was likely dead, and Kole was probably all she had left. She wouldn't lose him too.

  • "I'll go. I'm more used to this than any of you." said Saber, bounding out to find Kameo.
OOC: Could we do something like Kameo was captured by humans and we have to rescue her?

  • ooc: Kameo's already at a determined locale :) but unknown at this time.

ic: "Nobody's going to find her in a blinding snowstorm," Kagela had carried her son inside again and set him down. "But good luck. Please be careful." She was already grieving; the chance of her daughter surviving without any intervention out there was next to nothing. Only if she had found good shelter quickly did she stand half a chance. She groomed Kole, maybe the only child she had left.

  • Kagela didn't even hear him over the howling wind, though soon it began to die down. But it was also that she was back in the den while he was outside.

ooc: The scent would not be there by now. But soon we can have the snowstorm end so they can begin looking in earnest. Maybe if he picked up a scent it could be Nyarthotep's since he's out looking too. A couple feet of snow have fallen at least :)

  • OOC: Yes, however, he scented it under a fern that was under a tree wehre no snow had fallen. Plus, he spent the first years of his life even farther North than this.
IC: He follow the scent trail.

  • ooc: Oh, cool :)

ic: Nyarthotep was at the end of said trail, and the tom was having problems doing much of anything in this weather by now. Not only was everything buried, but more snow was still coming down and the driving winds and bitter cold temperatures made it impossible to see, hear or smell much of anything. Or even feel, as the cold had partly numbed him.

"What are you doing out here? Looking for her too?" He shook his head. "Trail ends here, there is no trail in the mortal world. But we will find her. She is in the paws of safety at this time."
