    The large tomcat wore a small frown on his maw surveying the area quite calmly realizing that being a clan cat was quite the life though it was a bit different from being a loner, there was definitely a lot more cooperation then his old group. He was wandering close to the border that was shared by Riverclan and Windclan, the burly tom flicked his single good ear trying to figure out what clan this was since the only one he knew of right now was Riverclan. How uneducated of himself. He spotted a small shrew did he pounce forward extending out a paw and managing to dig a claw into its scruff holding it up close to himself before biting down on it to kill the small rodent, he made sure it was on Riverclan territory since he didn't want to start any feuds from the two sides. He'd have to get accustomed to the warriors life as well as their small code, and their belief of this Starclan. It was so much to remember and take but hey, an old dog could learn new tricks despite that old dog actually being a cat. He would hold onto the shrew sighing as he sat down in some slight frustration "Oh boy," He started thinking over all the things he'd have to know but was semi-grateful that he didn't need to go through that apprenticeship progress since that would have definitely doubled the memory and work he would obtain.

    @sorrelear .

  • [center][fancypost=background:transparent; min-height: 800px; width: 400px; line-height: 14px; font-family: lucida sans unicode; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;]/ i was literally making the thread when i got the notif oh gosh

    Sorrelear had been in WindClan for such a long time. Her whole life, really. She had never known a life outside of it. And, quite honestly, she never wanted to leave. She enjoyed the wind in her fur while she raced after a rabbit, and staring up at the stars at night while she lay in her nest. It gave her such joy; it made her happy. She couldn't imagine being trapped in the forest like ThunderClan, never being able to see the sky. Or being near the wetlands, like ShadowClan and RiverClan. WindClan had always been her home. Always would be.

    She was out with a young apprentice when she first caught the male's scent. Ears twitching, she realized she didn't recognize his scent from any of the gatherings. It seemed to be RiverClan scent, but there was something about it... That just didn't seem like a Clan cat. Deciding to check it out on her own, she turned to the small tabby apprentice. "Go back to camp. I'll patrol along her by myself. Don't want you getting hurt by any big, mean RiverClan cats, now do we?" she asked, acting like she was completely serious but she was really only joking. The tabby shook his head in fear, before turning and racing off in the direction of camp.

    She watched him go, before sliding through the bushes next to the border. When she saw Bear, she huffed silently. Slowly making her way up towards the border, she stopped right next to it. "You're almost in WindClan territory," she stated calmly, before seeing the shrew. Her eyes narrowed and flickered back to him. "And you better hope that's not from our territory."

    [ ooops sorry it's cause i finished a workshop so i decided to make it ! ]

    He hadn't been expecting to bump into anyone but he glanced up with a blink of his warm amber eyes spotting Sorrelear and felt his breath was caught for a mere moment almost expecting to be attacked though was relieved to see that she hadn't leapt at him with outstretched claws. 'Good, last thing I wanna do is fight.' He thought to himself absentmindedly hearing her tell him that he was almost on Windclan territory, he took a brief moment to get accustomed to the scent before mumbling through the shrew "Ta'keyword is almost but I'm on m'own clan's territory." His clan. Was that right? It was an odd thing on his tongue yet he noted how she stared at the shrew that was in his jaws, he set it down putting his large paw on top of it with imaginary eyebrows furrowed in her direction yet there was no signs of hostility radiating off of him "It ain't, m'am." He noticed how calm she was and he took a liking to that as he relaxed completely soon mewing with a flick of his single ear "M'names Bear, uh, who're you?" He took a friendly tone though he hoped that his clinging loner smell didn't bother her, besides, the only reasons he had joined Riverclan was because his beloved son was there and well, it was much better than any loner group especially his own. He removed his paw from the shrew glancing down at it before his eyes went up to the beautiful femme once more, she was quite breathtaking compared to himself, burly and scarred.

  • [center][fancypost=background:transparent; min-height: 700px; width: 400px; line-height: 14px; font-family: lucida sans unicode; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;]Honestly, the last thing she wanted to do was to fight someone. She wasn't one to use claws instead of words, and well, if words could solve the issue then she was all for it. She still wasn't completely relaxed, however, as she had had bad experiences in the past with other Clanners. When he said "the keyword is almost" she couldn't help but let out a soft snort. "I see. So you're a RiverClan warrior?" she inquired. Still tense, until he seemed to relax completely. She relaxed slightly too, but still kept herself on alert. She sat down on her side of the border, blinking her bright blue-green eyes and tilting her head. He didn't seem to have been born in RiverClan, or have been raised there either. And when he said his name, she knew he hadn't been there long. Normally, soon after a loner joined a Clan, they were given a new name. At least, that was the custom she had grown up with. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Bear. My name is Sorrelear." Honestly his loner smell did bother her a bit. She wasn't used to it, and with it lingering and mixing among the fishy scent of RiverClan... Well, it wasn't the best. She much preferred her scent, of wild flowers, moor grasses, and the wild wind. Despite his scent, however, he seemed to be a nice tom. He wasn't too bad looking, either. He had the hardness of a loner, it was in his posture and his voice. He also had the scars as proof of his hard life. She did too, but many less. She found herself slightly intrigued by him.

    { ahh, it's fine!! (: }

    That was good, he believed in that as well but most of the loners that he had known or seen hadn't really believed in that sort of thing considering how sometimes food was running low or whatnot making them turn on one another. He hadn't seen that yet in the clans but he only hoped it would never have to go to that level seeing as he was searching for something that wasn't as hostile as his former life. "Yes, I am." He would have changed his name to suit that to the clan but he was just attached to his name since it was part of his identity and his mother had named him. He frowned momentarily adding with a nervous chuckle "Well more so, I don't got ma'name like everyone else. Jus' Bear," The frown soon vanished from his scarred facial features as he blinked his amber eyes at the female once more "And a pleasure to meet ya too, Sorrelear." He remembered when he was first self conscious of the scars that he bore intimidating those younger toms as well as females too, he felt a soft snort escaping him at the memory. The scars he felt most self conscious about were the ones that ran across his right eye but he supposed that sometimes it was good to be intimidating, he was no tough guy. Just a single parent with a single small son who looked more like a kit than an apprentice. He took a deep breath soon asking due to his curiosity "If ya don't mind my asking. . .How's Windclan like?" He paused for a moment nudging the shrew to the side adding reassuringly "You don't haf'ta tell me, of course." He offered a friendly, tired smile.

  • [center][fancypost=background:transparent; min-height: 800px; width: 400px; line-height: 14px; font-family: lucida sans unicode; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;]Thankfully it was almost never very hostile in the Clans. Well, she could really only say that about ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan. She wasn't so sure about DarkClan and BloodClan, though. Even though BloodClan had a very ruthless reputation. In these Clans, it was normally very nice, and calm. She appreciated it, really. "How did you happen upon RiverClan?" she asked, wanting to know how he had found out about RiverClan. Of course, she didn't know he had a song there. But if she found it, she would know. And she would understand. She would do almost anything for her kits, had all three actually been born alive. She would've gone to the ends of the earth for them if she had to. "Oh, well, WindClan is just like RiverClan, really. Same customs and rules. Except we live differently. Like, we sleep under the sky with no dens. Of course, there are dens in case it rains or gets very cold and snowy. But otherwise, when it is a nice night out, we sleep outside." Sorrelear knew that many in the other Clans thought it odd to sleep out under the stars, but WindClan liked it, because it made them feel closer to their ancestors. "What's RiverClan like?" the female asked, thinking it only polite to ask the same question to him. Besides, she was wanting to know what it was like as well.

    He glanced up at the sky listening to her question debating with himself as to whether or not to tell her but he knew from just taking her calm demeanor that he can tell her since it didn't seem like he'd harm her child "I only fell upon it when I was lookin' for m'son. He's a small boy and well, he was in Riverclan so I went there." Family meant a lot to him and he didn't know where he'd be without his son, he'd probably still be a loner had it not been for the fact that his child was in one of the clans. "That sounds nice," He murmured calmly thinking of sleeping under the stars and well, they might actually be able to sleep together, he and his kid, and maybe then he wouldn't feel so odd. "Well, it's smells of fish. . .We have dens since we don't sleep outside like your bunch, it's nice so far. . .Wish I could tell ya more but I've only been there for such a short amount of time y'know." He sighed giving a shrug of his scarred shoulders "I have yet to receive a name like yours and get accustomed to all of this. . .I only know of two clans now, yours and Riverclan's. . .I need ta'learn the warrior code too. . .I just hope I can remember it all," He admitted to her with a flick of his ear.

  • [center][fancypost=background:transparent; min-height: 500px; width: 400px; line-height: 14px; font-family: lucida sans unicode; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;]She smiled at his confession. She thought it was sweet that he would travel, just to find his son. That was something she would do, honestly. "That's sweet. That you would look for your son, and stay with him. I would do that too, had my children survived," she purred, before looking shell shocked. She couldn't believe she had just told an almost complete stranger, no matter how nice he seemed, her greatest weakness. "Ahh, anyways... It is nice. I enjoy being able to sleep under the stars. Unless it starts to rain." She spoke quickly, trying to steer his attention away from what she had just said. Cats in her own Clan didn't even know about that, save for a few. Choking out a purr of amusement, the feline nodded in understanding. "Just from standing here I know it smells like fish. In WindClan, though, it smells much like the wild grasses, wild flowers, and the wind. It's a strong, sweet smell, that I love and think is probably the best. Better than ShadowClan's smell of pine sap and marsh, or ThunderClan's scent of the forest. Though, the forest does not smell bad." By now she was rambling. But she just really hoped he didn't ask about her kits. If he did... Then she didn't know what she would do. When Bear said he didn't know much about the warrior code or anything, she perked her ears. Perfect way to keep him from asking about it! "I could most certainly teach you about all you need to know, if you'd like!"

    Yes, his child was probably the only family that he had left so he had to be careful with Sock and whatever he was doing or who might try to manipulate him, he hated when people would try to do that with his boy but he twitched his whiskers listening to her speak feeling warm on the inside before flinching at what was said last about the loss of her own children, it made a frown form itself onto his maw soon mewing "Yeah, I'm glad he's safe. . .I'm sorry for yer loss," He didn't know where he'd be if he didn't have Sock, he released a sigh listening once more deciding that he wouldn't ask of her kittens but he could tell by the way she was speaking that she didn't want to discuss it either, he wasn't one to nose around too "I can imagine. Under the stars, s'all right." He mused offering a smile soon releasing a snort of amusement hearing that even from there she said it still smelt of fish "Huh. I really hope the fishy smell doesn't cling so closely t'me. Flowers is a much nicer smell than fish. Pine forests smells real nice. . .Maybe I'll even put some flowers in m'coat so I smell nicer." He joked trying to lighten up the mood but he seemed a bit surprised when she offered to teach him the warrior code, it would be nice especially considering how most of his clanmates hadn't even offered just yet "I would like that actually. Thank you, Sorrelear." He twitched his whiskers calmly but seemed quite happy.

  • [center][fancypost=background:transparent; min-height: 550px; width: 400px; line-height: 14px; font-family: lucida sans unicode; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;]She nodded. "It's very good that he is safe. And it's fine. It, uh, it was a while ago..." He was right, she didn't want to discuss it. She was very glad he didn't say anything else on the matter. The feline purred at his joke, a bright smile lighting up her face. "Hey, I wouldn't be one to complain." She chuckled, wanting to nudge him playfully but knowing it was better if she stayed on her side of the border. She didn't want to cause a feud, after all. Sorrelear nodded again, her ear flicking once. "You're welcome, Bear. It will take quite a few days to learn, actually. So maybe we should find a place where I could teach it to you, where we could meet up every now and then?" she suggested. Although she knew she could get in trouble if her Clanmates found out she was sneaking around with a RiverClanner, how much trouble could it be? It wasn't like they were in love or anything - no, she was simply going to teach him about the Clan ways.

    He gave a nod of his large head paying close attention and hearing that the loss of her kits had been a while ago, he wondered if she had recovered from it or if it had been a traumatizing experience to lose a litter of kittens. Whatever it was, Bear hoped that something like that wouldn't happen again but the purr that she let out at his joke pulled him back to reality "If ya don't complain then I certainly will. I don't want to die smelling like fish," He purred in amusement though his purr was deeper and huskier in a way, more of a growl even; a happy growl, of course. Man, did these borders kill all the joy? Bear wasn't sure because he hadn't tried stepping over it, well, he would only do that if his son were to simultaneously change his mind about Riverclan and go to Windclan. He didn't think that would occur, of course, seeing as his kid seemed to be getting comfortable in Riverclan despite the smell of fish. "I mean, I'm not that busy in m'clan anyhow. I just hope I can remember all of it. I'd be up for that. . .Where are some places that a border doesn't really matter? I mean, if it exists. . ." If he knew about Fourtrees then he would have suggested it but he did not so here he relied on Sorrelear's experience and knowledge wearing a small smile. He just hoped that no one in his clan got angry for him not asking them instead of a Windclanner. Hey, maybe he had even made a friend.

  • [center][fancypost=background:transparent; min-height: 550px; width: 400px; line-height: 14px; font-family: lucida sans unicode; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;]She chuckled, nodding her head in understanding. "I wouldn't want to die smelling like fish either," she said, warmth in her blue-green eyes. The borders truly did kill all the joy. She had never really understood the whole thing about being attacked if you cross the border - why wouldn't they just get let off with a warning, and if they did it again, attack? An idea sparked in her mind when he asked about a place where borders don't exist. "I know! Fourtrees! That's the place where the Clans meet in peace every full moon to discuss news. It's the perfect place to meet, as there are no borders there, and it is right between all of the territories!" She felt guilty about arranging a place to meet up with an enemy Clanner, but no one had to find out, did they?
