The Court Mage of a defeated kingdom attends a negotiation for truce, and if all goes well, peace between the two kingdoms can be achieved with minimal sacrifices. Due to an ongoing war that the enemy kingdom had clearly won, the king of the defeated kingdom attempted to press the queen for a truce. We will jump in right at the moment the queen notices the court mage, who despite his calm exterior, the queen almost instinctively knew that he was smitten with her.

OOC: During the closing of the negotiations, when my charrie is more or less falling apart at the seams trying to maintain his composure around your character.
IC: The King reread the terms, he cleared his throat as a bead of sweat dripped down the side of his head, he had to sacrifice a bit more than he was hoping to to get the queen to agree to the truce. "I, Alfonze von Krieger, agree to the terms that are as follows, a 5% tax on trade revenue for any trade involving the kingdom of Amalthea, excluding direct trades with any territory ruled by the Lovelace royal family, which will be then supplied to the Lovelace Royal Family. Then, the building of a trade route between our kingdoms, and a grand total of 2,000 soldiers, including 300 cavaliers, 500 archers, 200 battlemages, and 1000 infantry to be deployed inside of Lovelace territories to serve and protect the Queen's people, and do whatever Queen Nicolasa Lovelace, may wish. Queen Nicolasa Lovelace, do you agree to these terms?" the King's hand shook out of some fear and a bit of shame as he handed her the quill and inkwell she would sign the declaration with.
Meanwhile, the Court Mage, Drevas, was carefully eying the terms, he had written the first draft of the terms and rewritten the official contract, Drevas handed the Queen the contract a bit shakily himself, not out of fear, but rather his vain attempts to keep himself calm in her presence. He barely managed to keep his blush from becoming obvious, but his breathing became a bit heavier and his heart began to speed up. He couldn't keep himself calm and professional in front of her despite his most valiant attempts. At this point, he was simply attempting to keep his manner as professional and gentlemanly as possible.
-
Nicolasa flashed him a small, gentle smile as she took the terms, "Thank you Dreves..." she mutter softly as she held up her quill, looking over the draft. A small piece of hair fell over her face as she glanced up at the King, "I do agree to the terms." she said and wrote down her name. Once written down, she put the quill down and stood up holding out her hand to shake with, "The peace of our kingdoms will go down in history." She said with a cheerful sound to her voice.
-
Drevas, acting hastily and not thinking for a second that she intended to shake the king's hand, shook her hand instead. A mere second passed before he realized his grave mistake, while not intending to be rude, he realized his mistake, you could practically hear him scream internally from the social mistake he made. He decided to reflect possibly jumping off the clock tower back home so that he could retain whatever dignity he'd have left by then.
-
She let out a soft giggled and shook the King's hand, then sat back down, "Now as honor of our new peace, I have had my people prepare a festival, please all of you" she looked at Dreves directly, "Join us tonight." her beautiful blue eyes shimmered and sparkled as her hands tapped the table. Nicolasa watched as her servant wrapped a cloak around her, "It is time for me to go onto some other business." she said, getting up and giving a small bow.
-
Drevas bowed in return, he was a bit offset from when the queen looked directly at him, he almost wanted to hide his face out of embarrassment. He averted his gaze and stared at the ground, the King replied to the Queen's offer, "We'd be delighted to." Drevas's mind was suddenly filled with worry, he would be at a party, with the queen, he was having trouble be professional while remaining silent, now he'd have to socialize while she was likely nearby. He'd never be able to hold a conversation for more than a few sentences.
-
she smiled and started to walk away, her sservants guiding her out of the castle. Unlike her parents before her, Nicolasa was very involved with her people, helping them and donating money to those in need. Her favorite thing was to help put at the orphanages and teach the children. She saw her horse and hopped on, riding her way to the orphanage.
-
Meanwhile, Drevas was having a difficult time keeping his mind on track, the royal carriage drove up to the front gate in the courtyard, two guards opened the gates for the King and Drevas. They both proceeded through and the gates were shut behind them. The king hopped into the carriage and Drevas paused for a moment, "Drevas get in. We're leaving to get ready." he says in a slightly annoyed manner. "C-coming your majesty!" Drevas quickly responded as he gracefully floated inside and set himself on his seat. The carriage driver cracked the reins and the horses winnied. They began pulling the carriage through the kingdom and away to the castle. Drevas noticed that the people didn't seem particularly disdainful of them as they passed by, but he couldn't help but feel like there at least half of the people there were glaring daggers at them.
-
Nicolasa got to the orphanage and unmounted her horse, walking to the door, "Hello my children! I'm here!" she called out and opened the door. She took off her cloak and hung it on the nails on the wall.
A group of children ran toward her, "Queen Nicolasa!" they came up to her, hugging her in a group.
The Orphan keeper came in, carrying a baby, "Hello your Majesty, we were expecting you." she said and handed her the baby.
Nicolasa took the baby and kissed their head, "Yes, I've come from a meeting with a neighboring kingdom. We have peace once again." she said smiling.

OOC: Timeskip to the party?
-
sure

Drevas walked into the ballroom, he was a tad offset by some of the gaudy decorations, and the people who dressed almost like they were competing to see who could out shoulderpad their peers... Nonetheless, he dressed in a robe primarily colored black with golden accents. It looked rather noble if anything. Drevas specifically avoided the Queen, he'd be the laughingstock of this kingdom if he turned into a babbling mess here. Even less, he'd probably cause problematic rumors for the Queen if he acted romantic around her here.
