• ”Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around highrock for a Clan meeting. I realize that it is not time for the weekly meeting, however this is just an informal announcement. Ceremonies and the liking will be held tomorrow so please shoot me a pm if you want one.” the leader’s voice was cold. She didn’t have too much to announce, just a few changes in the ranking. ”First of all, Drywind. Due to your actions against a queen, although one who has no place in our Clan, you are demoted to an apprentice until you can prove yourself. You slip up one more time and you are gone. To explain to everyone else? A queen was being very harsh towards a kit and while I was dealing with the situation, Drywind decided to step in and threaten her when I was handling it. Undermining and threatening a Clanmate are unacceptable. Drywind has a record of putting the Clan at risk, telling SkyClan that we had turned a queen away and potentially killing the peace between us, and now this. And as such I name him Drypaw. Until he can prove himself, he will have that name and may not leave the Camp without a trusted warrior. Moving on, I have one request. I have learned something about one of our newest members. Honeynose, I would like you to become an apprentice as well. This is not a punishment in any way, however there is much you need to learn about Clan life if you are to remain here. You have a very slanted view of the warrior code, which does not in my experience extend to rogues, loners, or any cat not apart of the six main Clans, excluding BloodClan of course. I will take up your training until I feel like you can be called a warrior of ThunderClan. You may keep your name, however you need to learn a lot about Clan life and until then your official rank will be apprenticeship.” It was just so she could be taught the way that Clan life worked because apparently her mother knew so much and was feeding her… interesting information about the Clans. ”I do have a promotion. We do not have any senior warriors and I would like to ask Pinefang to step up. I am taking away to ability to accept joiners by senior warriors and medicine cat apprentices so now only Medicine cats, the deputy, or the leader may accept joiners. I am still looking for members to fill up these slots so if you get active you may be considered.” She paused for everyone to consider this before continuing. ”And most of you seemed to have forgotten one very important part of the warrior code. The leader’s word is law. I am tired of having my decisions questioned or after I have made a decision a warrior or apprentice trying to bring up new points to change my mind. You may have your opinions and express them however I do not want you embarrassing yourselves, me, and ThunderClan as a whole. Especially in front of joiners and other Clans. If during a diplomatic situation, I hear anybody trying to either make decisions for me, trying to argue with my choice, or questioning the choice I have made, there will be consequences. I am tired of it and it is beyond disrespectful. Meeting dismissed.” She figured there would be quite a bit of drama over these announcements and if cats wanted to argue, well then they would be sent to take care of the elders for the day. She would not hesitate to confine cats to camp in order for herself to be able to lead her Clan. It was beyond annoying.

  • Oh no Drywind was being demoted. Whitepaw sat near the apprentice den still in recovery. Drywind was always trying to stay out of trouble but he got into it anyway. Whitepaw never knew about the Queen thing of course so it seemed like it was fair. Whitepaw liked Drywind as a friend and clanmate. It seemed like Honeynose needed a mentor. Pinefang is now a senior warrior. That was a very good choice. He thought Tanglefoot would be a good choice as well. Thornstar's decisions being questioned? Whitepaw saw her point. Whitepaw was pretty sure leaders were always being questioned. It goes with the job. Well Whitepaw wasn't leader so it was very likely he doesn't understand. He know that leaders have a burden, a very big one. Adderstar chose her for a reason. He looked around for other cats that may be promoted or demoted. He knew Marshkit and Maplekit are most likely to have their ceremonies tomorrow.

Yay Pinefang. Edit: fixed grammar mistakes and added stuff I Forgot.

  • "we got plenty of mentors" Whitepaw said to Honeynose. Then he thought of a good one. "Ask Tanglefoot. She was born here, Doesn't have an apprentice either". Then he thought he would mention Stoneface "Stoneface does not have one that I know of and she is the deputy. I don't know who else but I know they are good". "Dryw---- Drypaw did not have one either but he has issues right now" He added. RiverClan called nonswimmers Drypaws so RiverClan is going to have fun with him.

  • Her ears were pressed to her skull at the demotion of her friend. She had threatened the queen as well - but she had been far more elusive about it, and her stomach had been filled with dread ever since the words had left her maw. Drywind, however, had been aggressive, loud - enough so that he had woken Marshkit. It made the guilt even heavier when it was announced the she would take up the position of a senior warrior.

This did not change the fact that she would take a step forward, lifting her head to look at the leader with a level gaze. "I will do my best to serve well as a senior warrior, Thornstar."

  • Palekit stuck her head out of the nursery as she heard the meeting commence... then Drywind's demotion. Feeling her stomach lurch, a masive wave of guilt washed over her- all of this started simply because she didn't want to go inside on Rose's orders. Rose was exiled now, but she hoped she was pleased with herself.

The feline would approach next with the prowess of an adder, each step taken with a sense of dishonesty as a manipulative gaze was traversed over the clearing. Her mother's strong vocals coming to ring like a thunderstorm about the camp with such intensity it made her fur tingle! She could only wish that she's have such power one day. However, Wolfpaw's idea of power was far different than the many. She wanted to control people. Perhaps not for the better...

Blinking, a glare of molten steel came to narrow open the demotions in which she found no problem with nor held the desire to say any such words before she came to focus upon her mentor, Pinefang. A smile was nonexistent upon the apprentice's features before she came to offer the feline a curt nod, a warm gaze traded momentarily before finally, a sly smile was crooked upon the crevices of her maw. "Congratulations Pinefang!"

  • Drywind, or Drypaw as it were, remained unfazed by the humiliating demotion. He bared no guilt over either defending the abused kit or accepting responsibility for his Skyclan friend's horrific death, nor did he hold Thornstar's disapproval at any high order. He gave up trying to attain her trust moons ago, despite his unwavering loyalty, constant activity, and obedience under her constant fire and hatred he remained unfazed. He met Pinefang's concerned green gaze for a moment as Thornstar continued on with his offenses with a meaningful stare, as if trying to communicate something with her. The name change did sting a bit, as it was quite an embarassing punishment, but the fact that she had not punished his friend but rather promoted her and exiled the she beast that had outright mentally and physically abused an innocent kit satisfied him to no end and relinquished any anger he may have held over the situation. He considered himself a rather selfless cat, and if he was punished and threatened and humiliated to stand up for a clanmate then that was a cross he was happy to bear. He said nothing about his demotion, but stared on in steely silence not daring so much as blink or bow his head. "Congratulations, PInefang." he purred warmly without an ounce of contempt.

  • Whitepaw got up and walked over to Drypaw. "Feel free to make a nest next to mine" his tone was friendly and understanding. "And I suggest you stay away from the RiverClan border" the tom teased about the toms demoted name. "Well I guess you might have stayed away from them during your apprentice days". Drypaw must have known being called drypaw in RiverClan was an insult.

  • "How do you think I got my name?" [/color He meowed to Whitepaw with a hint of amusement. "I can't stand getting wet. I don't know why any cat with more than half a brain would." He gazed across the clearing at the throng of cats and noticed a few staring at him, mostly with pity in their wide eyes but some with smug satisfaction and hostility. "I have no regrets, though." He went on stubbornly, "Any cat who keeps their mouths shut in the face of blatant injustice and lets power hungry cats abuse the innocent for the sake of avoiding conflict is no clanmate of mine." He went on with a growl in his meow. "But good on Thornstar for hauling Rose's flea bitten pelt out of here!" His eyes searched the crowd for Palekit, his heart warming just to see the young kit looking better already under Pinefang's care.

  • "You're still a good to me. You got to control yourself a little better" He said to his now apprentice friend. Their conversation could only be heard by cats a foxlength away. "Oatpaw and Branchpaw are pretty friendly. Not sure about Wolfpaw though, I never talk to her. Feather is very cheery. Honeynose is kind too. Let's just say you'll enjoy the apprentice den better than you think".

  • Drywind looked over towards a group of giddy apprentices sitting together at the edge of the crowd. "It's not that I don't want to be around you kits," He used the term affectionately for the younger cats. "I'm just embarassed." He admitted. But his friend was right- Maybe being an apprentice wouldn't be so bad after all.

  • Drywind straighted up, his gaze regaining its stony gleam. "I can always see Pinefang, we are in the same clan." He replied, feigning ignorance. "And I don't know why it's any concern of mine, anyhow." He gave Whitepaw a stern look, warning him to drop the subject. Pinefang wasn't anymore interested in him as she was in any cat.
