  • Jay gazed at Jackie softly and lightly chuckled in slight nervousness. "Squeeze your hand..? Well, I wouldn't mind doing that every now and then.." She lightly teased, feeling herself become just a tad bit flirty with Jackie, but then mentally decided to cool it down a little. They were in a team, taking on the horrors of this world, they couldn't afford to mess around too much. Jay told herself that repeatedly until she felt Jackie leaning against her, a flash of red tinting her cheeks at the sudden yet light contact, though she quickly forced her blush and her jolting heartbeat to suppress themselves. Now was not the time to be embarrassed!
"Squad 7, approach us at once.."

Well, this was it. It was their turn to receive more information and possibly an immediate mission. Jay was already so mentally tired as it is, and was unsure of how much more information she could shove into her head. But regardless, it was time to move. Jay lightly placed a hand on Jackie's shoulder and looked her over before settling her eyes in the direction of where they need to go. "You ready, Jackie?" She asked as she walked off, but then stopped and turned around, gazing at Jackie as she lightly smiled and waited for her, being at least 3 or 4 steps in front of the girl now.

  • She smirked, laughing softly. Pushing up her glasses, her eye traveled up to look at Jay, and saw her blushing. An evil little twinkle came into her eyes, glad the other was also, possibly, enjoying this as well. When they mentioned their squad, she felt her stomach turn and felt some fear, but calmed down as the other softly touched her. She was nervous not to be with her brother, but felt like being with the other was a good change. She smiled happily, speaking in a cheery voice, "Ready Jay." She watched the other walk, and hesitated before following.

  • Jay smiled and waited before walking with Jackie side by side now. This felt comfortable to Jay, and almost comforting as well. All her life, she was mostly alone, and it was only her that most everyone she knew would depend on her, leaving her in a one sided relationship with them as a result. So, it was a nice change of pace to depend on someone else for a change, and to protect someone who wasn't completely helpless. "Since you told me first.. I'll tell you next.. Just squeeze my hand if you need to, alright?" She said rather seriously yet with a touch of flirtation, a part of her feeling that Jackie wasn't used to being around someone who wasn't her brother Wilson. So she tried to make things feel as familiar and as comfortable as possible for the girl.
Jay led them across the room to which a guard with a full mask and hood on nodded at them and motioned for both of them to follow him. So, Jay followed, keeping Jackie in her sight just to monitor her level of comfort. Once she saw that she was well, Jay looked forward, seeing that their guide was leading them out of the room and down a hallway into a secluded and dark room that rather loudly lit up to life. The room was bright, so much so that it slightly hurt Jay's eyes, but she soon got over it. So, it was here that most of Monsoon's technology was put to use. Though, Jay didn't understand why this wretched building needed such bright lights.
No matter.. It was then that the guiding guard stopped them and turned to face them to speak, his voice masked to sound almost distorted and deep. It was a bit difficult, but Jay was able to understand what he would say.
"You are to go and catch a drifter to go to Virga. This location has had many casualties that point to the infected infiltrating the city and the convicts getting out of hand. It is your task to...Correct these flaws." A drifter was another name for a "car", but it was fashioned with more.. Appropriate modifications that it would be able to survive the environment. Jay lightly narrowed her eyes at the taller man's masked face. "Once finished, alert us by using these communication devices.." The man handed both of them small and rather dated ear pieces that looked to be decades old, but they managed to make them work, surprisingly. "And you shall return to the checkpoint we inform you of and you'll await your transportation, then you'll be taken back here and you'll return to your cells until you are called upon again. Understand?" The man awaited for confirmation, in which Jay furrowed her brow and nodded once. "..Understood.."

  • She felt her face feel flushed at the slight flirting seriousness, and took the other's hand, squeezing it slightly. It helped out much more then she would openly admit. She looked at the guard, smiling to herself, he looked like something out of a story book tale. Which one she wasn't sure. But it was whatever. She narrowed her eyes against the light as she walked touching Jay, it all bothered her. The smell was the worst and she didn't even know why. She listened carefully, nodding at the executioner's instructions, but she soon frowned before giving a verbal sound of understanment. As she placed the ear piece in, she glanced at the other.

  • Jay placed the ear piece into her ear and lightly squeezed back onto Jackie's hand, soon following the man as he eventually led them out of the building. It was a long walk since the facility was so huge, but soon, Jay lightly gasped in a mixture of excitement and astonishment and fear when she tasted the heavy air of the outside. It had been so long since she had been outside. It.. was a lot to take in, for one. But then reality kicked in, it was just her and Jackie now, and the mission.
"S.. So.." Jay stuttered only slightly, but she regained her stature when she breathed in another well deserved breath. "Our first step was to catch a ride right? Huh.. Where would that be..?" She asked as she then gazed around. The city of Monsoon was rather large, and was cluttered with both makeshift buildings and people who still didn't want to accept that the world had ended. The technology in this city was hard to miss, as there were neon signs and street lamps and lights inside every building. In such a large maze of a city, Jay didn't have a perception of direction, especially since she didn't really have the chance to explore so much, due to being locked up and all. So, for now, she was stuck on what to do. "Hmm, any ideas then? I was thinking that we could ask around for directions to the transportation center.."

  • Osiris noticed her hostile attitude, but paid no mind to it, only making a mental note to tread lightly when he spoke.

He nodded, then tilted his head in curiosity, holding out his hand. "It's, uh, nice to meet you?" He phrased it more as a question, as she seemed uninterested in conversation.

  • Narrowing her eyes, Sterling stared at his outstretched hand. After a few moments she sighed quietly and shook it briefly, then crossed her arms once again. "Nice to meet you too," she stated dryly, then looked away. Her focus was on the guards, which were calling out team numbers. If she didn't hear them when they were called, then who knows what would happen. Growling softly, her limbs suddenly extended, and caused her to yelp in both agony and alarm. "Damn malfunctions," she hissed, and wincing, she reached behind her in an attempt to pull them down. Her attempts weren't exactly working, though, and with an irritated sigh she gave up, slumping over. She didn't think about asking for help. It was highly unlikely she would even do so, anyway.

  • Jackie followed her quietly, watching the walls as they walked. When they were outside, a loud gasp came from her, it was still as beautiful in all its wrecked wasteland as it once was. She squeezed Jay's hand in excitement, and fear. When the other took a deep breath, she rested her head in a comfort way on her arm. When Jay started talking, she looked up at her. Thinking for a moment, Jackie nodded, "Sounds good." She took the other's hand, and started walking with a timid step.

  • This will be a bit strange, but in order to give all the other people their missions, I'm going to have 2 passages where 1 is Jay, and the other is the voices back in the facility.. Ah, I guess you'll all see what I mean. XD And Maleth Firedrake, you're accepted!! ))

Many of the squads were called and all sent off on their own missions, though only a few were left in time. The announcer continued calling out. "Squad 11, please approach us at once.."

    ~~

Jay arched a brow and watched as Jackie started walking in front of her, so she quietly followed as she also did a bit of half-assed sight seeing. She gazed at the buildings and studied their structure. From what she saw, they were all put together by using a series of rusted bolts and scrap metals that were taken from objects that were once used for something, but was broken down for another purpose. Also, from what she saw, many of the buildings served as casinos, which sort of made sense, but Jay saw it as a waste of time and energy. She remembered that the currency that was being used was still dollars and pennies, nickles, quarters, and dimes, though judging by how things were today, perhaps the value of the currency increased.
But she then focused on the task at hand. She and Jackie would have to ask around for directions, though judging from how some of the people behaved around them, it wouldn't be easy. Most of the residents were so shifty and uneasy, like all of them had a secret that everyone wanted to know. Jay leaned down a bit to whisper to Jackie. "Let me talk to them.. Okay?" She lightly stood up and walked over with Jackie to one of the residents that was leaning against a wall. She cleared her throat to grab their attention, but to no avail. She sighed in slight annoyance. "Excuse me, sir?" The man glanced at them but looked away, causing Jay to narrow her eyes in anger. She really wanted to punch this guy through a building, or even kill him, but.. She shouldn't make a scene, or else word would get back to the prison and she'll get eliminated. No matter.. Jay walked closer to the man and slightly raised her voice. "Can we get directions to the Drifter Hub?" She growled, causing the man to laugh smuggly, and it was really starting to piss Jay off. "Dontcha look at any signs, lass?" The man asked in a rugged voice that had a thick accent. Jay gritted her teeth and stayed silent as she then inspected the area. She saw rusted street signs that had arrows and labels pointing in every direction, but for once, she saw where they needed to go. So she quickly led Jackie away from the man and continued walking down the makeshift road, following the signs. "Huh, I guess we really didn't need to ask anyone after all.. Ugh, sorry... I don't mean to get so.. Short with people." She softly admitted, looking away as a frown tugged at her lips.

  • The buildings definitely were items of interest. As they moved along, the dark haired girl left her fingers trail over them. Everything was dirty, but she enjoyed the feeling. It was new and unique and she appreciated that. She couldn't help but wonder what it was like to gamble. She never did it, but Wilson had gotten the ability to, and he seemed to enjoy it fairly well. Maybe if she looked through the trash or something she could some chips or whatever and cards and he could teach her. Nodding her head as the other spoke to show she had heard the orehr, Jackie watched as she tried to get the attention of a man, who did a good job of ignoring her. That kinda pissed her off, along with his laugh, but his accent caught her attention. When he spoke, she took a small step forward, listening to it. When she was pulled away from the man, she had to increase her step slightly to keep up with the other. When Jay admitted her short temper, she laughed softly. "Don't sweat it! That guy was rather rude."

  • Jay lightly huffed. "I know. But still, Jackie." She softly said, soon leading Jackie around a corner to which revealed a more wider space in the city that held the Drifter Hub. The Hub was a station filled with parked drifters, so it was pretty much a garage, where you tell someone your destination and then you go. But, it still looked a bit sketchy, considering no one was even there, but regardless, it was the start of the mission. So Jay made her way down with Jackie, but was stopped by another man in cracked sunglasses and raggedy clothes. "Hold it." He barked, causing Jay to clench her fist. "Where you wanna go?" He asked, Jay somewhat cringing at how busted and disgusting his teeth were. "Virga." She muttered and the man snorted. "That's a long way to go. Ya got cash to pay for that?" Jay arched a brow and was about to say something, but the man cut her off instantly. "It's $300. Ya got that? I doubt you do." Jay widened her eyes. Jesus that was a lot of cash, but then again many people were greedy. They had nothing better to do than to rob people and collect cash. And especially now, when the two had no money.. Jay wished she could've robbed someone, but now she was a part of this secret group that protected the people. It was really annoying. But now, Jay had to focus on what to do, and she thought about it.. Then, she did it. "Jackie, take a few steps back.." She whispered to her teammate, then, she took action. She suddenly stomped her foot down onto the man's foot, causing him to yelp and stagger back, but before he could fall over, Jay grabbed his arms and spun him around, dumping him to his knees and used her foot to kick his back down to bend him over, his face in the dirt. She had to admit, this was a bit much just to persuade the guy to give them a ride, but she couldn't think of any other way in which she liked it. She liked this way so much more, because she was finally able to hurt somebody. But she couldn't get too caught up in the rush she felt, she had to focus. She knelt down, her foot digging into the man's back as she did so. She then whispered thing into his ear that were inaudible, but then, she grabbed him by the shirt collar and forced him to his feet and pushed him forward so that he began to walk towards one of the parking spaces. Jay looked back at Jackie. "Turns out our ride will be free. So, you ready, Slyman?" She suddenly teased, using Jackie's last name just for a more.. Playful affect.

  • When Chimera heard squad 11 get called, he glanced at Wilson and gestured to the guard with his head, and pushing off of the wall he approached them. Crossing his arms over his chest, Chimera quirked a brow and tilted his head, humming quietly. The Anaconda which served as his tail draped itself across his shoulders, and its eyes were locked onto the guard. Is hissed quietly, flicking its tongue at the air. It didn't like the guards, and Chimera didn't either. Hissing one last time, it closed its eyes and fell silent.

    //low muse atm, ugh

  • Wilson let the other take lead before following him. He watched the guard carefully, he knew that the guard didn't like them, and vice versa. He couldn't help but eye the snake wrapped around Chimera, it was rather interesting, but just ever so slightly unsettling.
She followed without saying a word, eyeing the streets carefully. It was a rather shady town, but that was to be expected in the time of the apocalypse. When they arrived where the drifters were held, her eyes lit up. She had never seen any, excwpt for whatever took her and her brother here, in all her travels. When the man spoke she made a face of disgust. How she would've just like to put him out of his misery and get ride if the rest. When the other spoke, she casually walked back a few, watching her beat him down. She had to admit, it was rather sasitfying to watch her do so, her power defiantly made her seem.more attractive. When all was set and done, she smirked, watching as the other leaned down to speak into his ear. She followed the other, giggling softly, "You are oh so kind darling." She said in a flirtatious yet teasing manner.

  • Haha, low muse happens to the best of us, it's all good!))

The guard had on a helmet that covered his entire head and a bulky uniform. When Wilson and Chimera arrived, he motioned for them to follow him. He was silent for the entirety of the walk, taking the two out of the large room and down a long dark hall into another room. Inside the room were various cells that used to hold older and more dangerous prisoners before they died of casualties. The doors to the cells were rusted and the lights were flickering and broken, causing the mood to shift to that of an uneasy manner. The guard halted them with the raise of a hand and turned to face them. His voice was also disguised to sound more distorted and deeper, so it was slightly difficult to understand. "Both of you will be going to the city of Squall." The man informed, paying no attention to the animal-like features of Wilson or the active Anaconda that hissed at him before. "Raiders and the infected threaten the people and the wellness of the walls.. It is your task to.. Correct these flaws." His gloved hands suddenly held 2 ear pieces. "You will catch a drifter that is routed to Squall, fulfill your assignment, then contact us on these communication devices. Then, you will head to the checkpoint given to you and you'll return here where you'll wait for the next time you are called upon. He raised his head in a more dominating manner and took a moment of silence before firmly stating one word. "Understand?"

    ~~

Her brow quirked and her eyes lit up as her lips curled into a smirk. She knew that she was going to enjoy this trip a lot, especially since she figured Jackie was enjoying their time together as much as she was. "I'm the kindest of the kind.. You won't find anyone nicer than yours truly." She jested, soon following the man to a drifter that was parked in a lot. Drifters weren't ordinary cars, they were open like a jeep, they had no doors or a roof, but they had a windshield and hood. Their bodies were long and wide, equipped with 4 seats and 6 large tires, 2 in the front and 4 in the back. It was a monster of machinery, but it got the job done. The man got in the front, waiting for the 2 to get in, tapping the wheel nervously as he started the engine. "Hmph.. I forgot how.. Unnecessarily large and loud these were.." She mused and crossed her arms, turning to the back of the car, then to Jackie. She then motioned her hand towards the car and did a playful little bow. "Ladies first."

  • Chinera took the earpiece and fastened it to his ear, then brushed his fingers over it lightly. "Understood," he responded, and petting the Anadonda's head, he stared at the masked man. He managed to make out every word he said, but it was difficult. He had to pay extra close attention to the words he spoke. "Squall," he mumbled under his breath, then fell silent, deep in thought. He then glanced at Wilson, and flicked an ear. "Raiders and infected, eh?" he hummed, and the Anaconda opened its jaws. "Sounds easy enough," he said with a sigh, then crossed his arms again. His claws dug into the soft fur covering his skin, and little streams of blood trickled down onto the floor. Hissing in surprise, he covered the small wounds with his hand. "Dammit..." he growled, lowering his ears in irritation.

  • Jackie smiled, as they walked, chuckling at her soft comment, and nodding in agreement. When the got to their desired drifter, her hand shot out, running over the tires and frames. When offered to get in, she leaned close to the other, smirking at her, "With his sweet you're being, you might just rot my teeth out." She flashed the other a toothy smile, before climbing in, and offering a hand to the other, even though she obviously didn't need it.
Wilson made a small huff sound when the guard stopped, and looked around, smirking. So this is where the baddest of the bad were held. Important to know. When spiken to, Wilson ran a hand thriugh his hair once more, "Understood boss man." He placed the earpiece in, and watched his team mate rip at his arm. Frowning, Wilson made a small 'tch' noise, and took a rag he tended to keep on him, giving it to the other. "That was rather quick, but i think you want to rip the other guys." He teased gently, unsure of how the other would take it.

  • Chimera chuckled in response and thanked Wilson for the rag, then wrapped it around the wound on his arm. "I'm not immune to my own weapons," he chuckled, crossing his arms once again. "Tearing into some other sounds fun," he hummed, "I can't wait." The Anaconda draped around his shoulders hissed in agreement and snapped its jaws, then flicked its tongue at the air. "Neither can the snake," Chinera chuckled quietly, petting the Anaconda's head.

  • The guard paid no attention to the blood, or the small conversation that was made between the two, he just stared straight forward, posture tall and straight, stature so bulky and gloved hands curled to fists. "Make your way to the exit by taking a right down the hall and following the lights. Remember, you're representing Kage Gun. So.. Don't disappoint- or get yourself killed over stupid mistakes." He warned sternly, then left the two in the room as he walked out and stood adjacent to the doorway, waiting for them.

    ~~

Jay smirked and lightly grabbed onto her hand and hoisted herself up into the vehicle, sitting besides Jackie in a sort of aloof manner. "Don't worry, I'll be careful and try to.. Tone it down." She softly purred then leaned back in the seat, soon moving her hands so that they were locked behind her head and resting on the head of the seat. Jay let out a sigh as she began lounging, her eyes wandering as the drifter lurched forward, soon speeding off onto the dirt road and out of the city's security checkpoint. The man that was driving lightly cleared his throat just to get Jay and Jackie's attention. "So.. It'll be about 2 and a half days before we reach Virga.." He informed and Jay widened her eyes in surprise. "Damn.. That long?" She groaned and the man nodded. "It'll be a dangerous way.. And we'll stop a couple times to rest. That alright with ya?" He suddenly asked and Jay lightly ran a hand through her white hair, gently arching a brow. "It'll be exhausting.. But..." Jay turned to Jackie and lightly smiled. "You'll help make this a bit more fun, Slyman." She chuckled.

  • Chimera hummed in response, and glancing at Wilson, he headed out the door. Then, groaning quietly, he pressed a hand to the side of his head and staggered a bit. A malfunction. His arms shifted around is various ways; they flickered from animal to animal before finally morphing back into those of a human. His Anaconda tail disappeared, and so did the horns. His eyes changed a few times, then finally settled upon those of a horse. His vision changed significantly, and blinking his eyes a few times, Chimera growled lowly. "Damn malfunctions," he hissed, then crossed his arms. "It's going to take awhile to reform...dammit..."
