Tea had loved to play this game as a kid. It went by many names: Seven Up, Thumbs Up, Heads Down, et cetera, et cetera. It was her parents' method of keeping them all quiet, and it worked well, even with large numbers. The more the merrier, as she had been told. And seeing as she was a minnow now, it could be considered a duty to entertain the clan, and so share the game. She hoped the others would have fun as she had. "Anybody want to play a game? It's called Thumbs Up!" the rabbit announced cheerily.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0px; width:450px; font-family:constantia; font-size:12px;text-align:justify;line-height:1.2]Lessa loved games. Any games really. The issue was she grew up with a slight... Attention problem. It had made playing games somewhat difficult because soon enough a butterfly would flutter past her nose or a funny looking cloud would catch her eye, sending her concentration anywhere and everywhere except the original activity. Admittedly, that problem had not gone away exactly, the petite marten just had developed a somewhat better hold on it over many moons of being around clanmates and finding it necessary to concentrate.

The little Jedi smiled softly as she slowly padded over, rounded ears flicking and thick tail swaying. "W-what's thumb's... Up?" For all her games-loving nature, Lessa did not find the name familiar a tall, head titled lightly to the side, chocolate hues gleaming in curiosity.

  • "I have a better question, how do we play a game involving thumbs if we don't have thumbs?" Blue quipped as she trotted over, head tilted in curiosity, though it was a bit tough when she also wanted to lift her chin in a prideful huff. Having grown up on a farm, she hadn't been expos d to games like thumbs up, instead they stuck to simpler things like tag, hide-n-seek, and things like chasing other animals or tossing rocks. Perhaps a new game could be fun though, and so the pup stuck around, curious as to what exactly this odd-sounding game entailed.

A small yawn escaped past the kitten's jaws as she padded over, swishing her semi-fluffy tail behind her. In an effort to be involved with the clan, she had padded over, but Rosewater had no idea what the heck "Thumbs Up" was. The other two who had approached Tea also didn't seem to understand, but the problem for Rose wasn't the fact that she didn't know what the game was. "Wait, I've got an even better question. What are thumbs?" She had never seen a human before, or any creature with anything more thumb-like than a dewclaw, and thus Rose was a little confused. She took a seat, though, with a flick of one of her tail.

  • [center][fancypost=width: 450px; line-height: 120%; text-align: justify;][font='Georgia, serif']Ivylee too wondered what thumbs were, and how they were supposed to play a game called 'thumbs up' if they didn't have any thumbs. Nevertheless, she was intrigued, so here the leader was, ready to listen to the rules and play the game. She loved playing, so why miss out on this opportunity? "I'd be happy to join in! How do we play?" She inquired, looking up at Teagan with wide, curious eyes, not moving her gaze as she stood near Rosewater.

Teagan smiled cheerfully as the pine marten approached, a hind leg thumping the ground in anticipation. "I'll explain it in a minute," she replied. Honestly, she'd rather not have to go over the rules a dozen times as others joined in. Thankfully, it was simple enough to grasp, and she was positive it wouldn't be difficult to understand. The rabbit gave Blue a wide grin. What a cute pup! "You don't necessarily need thumbs to play," she responded with a firm nod. Even as a kitten, the game had been ever so slightly altered to suit their paws.

Rosewater was next to show up, and Tea's foot began to pound again, pleased by the turn-up already. At the even better question, she'd gesture to Blue with a nod of her head. "Well, this pup seems to know her stuff. Maybe she can educate you." Give the younger clan members a chance to interact. Besides, if Blue knew that they didn't have thumbs, naturally she should have known what thumbs were. When Ivylee came along not long after, the cotton-tailed critter decided to begin her explanation, hoping any others would hear it should they jump in.

"So, in a large group of people, you'd pick about four or five to be on." When she was younger, it had always been seven, due to the especially large group that would participate - hence the alternate name of Seven Up. "Those four or five people will stand up, while everyone else lies down with their eyes closed. Usually we wear blindfolds, but I don't think I could conjure enough." She wasn't as adept at conjuration as she was at telekinesis. It required a lot more concentration and seemed to drain her of energy, and after her efforts there was a fifty-fifty chance the object would appear. "The people lying down will hold up one thumb, or in this case, paw. The people who are on will tap one paw each. If your paw is tapped, you put it down so you don't get tapped twice. When everyone who is on has picked someone, they call out, 'heads up, thu-paws down." She hoped her explanation was understandable. It was really quite easy once the game got started. "So, if four people are on, four people should have been picked by having their paw tapped. If your paw has been tapped, you stand up and try to guess who picked you. You have one guess. If you get it right, you get to be on, and the person who picked you sits down. Y'know?"

  • They'd all be darned right that she knew her stuff. Of course she knew her stuff, she knew all the-- what did she know again? Oh yeah, thumbs. "Oh yeah, a thumb is sort of like an extra toe or finger, only it kinda' sticks out to the side more than fingers, and toes, and it helps humans hold stuff." The Aussie explained, puffing her chest out with the depth of such a scholarly explanation. Explaining it was honestly kind of hard, given how weird thumbs were, but she'd seen her fair share of thumbs from farmers and such when she lived on the farm with her family, so she definitely understood the concept.
"I definitely get how to play the game now, so as long as everybody else sort of gets it I am ready to go." She added with a lopsided grin. It sounded pretty simple actually, though a bit challenging. If she knew the scents of these people, it'd be rather easy to guess who tapped who, but seeing as she had just joined, she barely had the scent of Riverclan down, and so she'd have to do this the harder way. No matter though, she was sure she'd still be good at it.
