  • The young female padded to the rushing river, stopping for a moment to collect her thoughts. She was in search of a permanent home, one that hopefully could help her overcome her fears and issues.

Her past was somewhat traumatic, and she refused to speak about it. She was born into the wild, never knowing the life of a kittypet. But she had never been part of a real clan. She had lived with a few other rouges, but that part of her life went down the drain after the accident occurred.

Now she hoped to find love, as well as a place to call her own. A family, one she could fight to the death to protect.

The wind blew through her dark fur as she waited for someone to approach her. "Hello? Is anyone out there?!" She called out tothe barren land beyond the river she sat at.
Was she at the right place? This was Riverclan territory correct?

  • The serval was quick to move as he ran through the undergrowth, ears flicking in all directions as different noises filled his hearing. His legs beating as the ground, his feet burning from running so much.

Out of breath, the tom stopped, an unfamiliar smell filling his nose, then he heard the call. He lowered himself, cautious as he crept forward towards the rivers side. Golden orbs peering out from a large bush, surveying the area, looking for any sign of danger. Seeing the other feline he stepped forward, standing at his full height as he spoke. "This is Riverclan territory!"
He stepped forward slowly, one large paw after another as he came to the waters edge. "Who are you, and what business do you have here!"
    He added, tail twitching slightly.

  • "I was hoping to join your clan. What might you be able to tell me about it?" The female responded gently, in an attempt to show she meant no harm. She had heard that the clans were made up of cats, but hadn't expected the more "exotic" species to be in the clans, but this wasn't something that bothered her.

  • Another figure approached behind Quail at a slightly slower pace. Her long, dark fur blended seamlessly with the shadows casted by tall trees and fronds bordering the riverbank, and she moved without them knowing until she reached the open stretch of land. The maine coon's gaze swept the clearing in front of her until it landed on the unfamiliar, long-furred she-cat. After observing their exchange for a few brief moments, she decided to leave her place amongst the reeds and cross the open grass to join her clanmate.

Nightgaze slowed to a halt by the river's edge, giving a flick of her tufted ear to signal a greeting to both of them; known and unknown. "Ah, well, we like to swim," she started off, tossing her head towards the side where the river cut through the border. "And we live here as a community in this part of the forest. We have a leader, who you can talk to if you're certain you want to join."

From what she had gathered about the female so far was that she was quite young in age, perhaps around the range of an apprentice or new warrior, same as herself. Her scent was rather unfamiliar, but did not contain the stick, smokey stench of cars or city streets. Judging by looks only, she could tell that this wasn't a pampered kittypet. Not that it particularly mattered to Nightgaze, but it would at least be helpful if the stranger had some background with hunting and fending for herself. "What's your name?"

  • Wolf nodded politely. "Yes, of course. I have heard many things about the bravery, and intelligence of Riverclan, including how this clan is known for swimming. I have never had an issue with swimming myself, and have rather enjoyed it. If needed, I can wait here to speak to your leader if you are concerned about me being a danger. I have honestly never been part of clan life, so I'm afraid I have not much knowledge of what to expect. I go by the name my father gave me, Wolf. And may I ask y'all's names?." She stated simply, hoping that she would be welcomed and not juded to harshly.

  • Wolf. She actually quite liked the name. It was short and simple, like her past name, Night. It stuck in her head and resonated within her for a moment while she thought.

"Eh, don't worry about the swimming. It's not the most important part," she explained, settling down on the sandy floor with a flick of her long, obsidian-black tail. "Basically, a clan sticks together and lives together. We all help each other with hunting and defending ourselves from outsiders when it's necessary. Pretty good setup, and you'll also find friends and family here." Her golden gaze swept over the she-cat once more as she spoke. Her demeanor and stance were calm; her fur smoothed down and flat. There were no signs of hostility or aggression in the warrior's gaze whatsoever.

"I'm Nightgaze, by the way. Feel free to ask more questions. I've really got nothing else to do until Smokestar arrives," She finished. Although she was curious to know more about this cat, she figured she should at least give her an opportunity to resolve any questions she had about clan life, or the other clans in the forest, if she knew about them.

  • [fancypost= borderwidth=0px; height: auto; width: 450px; text-align: justify;]a glossy, long haired femme was the next to arrive. her paws were bearlike, bulky and big, her almond-like eyes narrowed. her ear flicked as she lay in wait in the shadows, her form still as she surveyed the newcomer like a huntress to prey. her breathing was soft as her eyes cast upon the grey, feathery coat. ah, it looked like that cat could at least be able to swim well, she thought with a prolonged sigh. her tail flicked as her body began to set into motion once again.

revealing her large, hulking form, heather's eyes glittered as she caught the young female in her emeralline gaze. her fawn tortoiseshell fur glimmered like a polished stone, she had recently been swimming. looming a little over her fellow clanmates, the femme scented rogue scent, but said nothing. she was not an overly friendly cat who liked to sugarcoat everything. she wasn't as strict as cougartail, but she could be cold at times.

"heatherpounce." she introduced herself shortly, not bothering with a long drawn out explanation. after all, it wasn't like she was the most social butterfly ever. she sat down, curling her fluffy tail around her big paws, huffing softly. her gaze was distracted, focusing on things other than the newcomer. she started grooming herself.

  • Wolf nodded. "So you all take care of each other, I've never expirenced such a thing before. And family? How would that occur for me? I mean would I become like family to certain members?" She tried to explain her question, her mew filled with something close to awe. She was getting more and more intrigued by the second as she heard of the amazing things of the clan.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px][font=arial][size=9][align=justify]
The feline had found herself patrolling the borders as she embarked upon a solo patrol, quick to hear the whispers dance amongst the wind's ferocious current. Catching the delicate snipets of conversation as the huntress lay within the dwellings of camouflaged cattails before allowing for her precense to be known, as the wildcat mix slid forward with the grace of an adder. A sharp tongue to match as jagged fangs stood with horrific atrocities within the bounds of her heavy jaws. Notched ears worn from battle and a frame as sturdy as ruthless boulders admired her every movement.

A glare of molten emerald kissed the scene with speculation as she prowled forward. Thickened shoulder blades cutting the frosted atmosphere over head like daggers, "Smokestar isn't the only one who can accept joiners within the clan," she informed, her words blunt as they cut with the harsh desires of spear tips upon confirming her stance in leadership in which they should have known. "Cougartail, Deputy of Riverclan," she came to rumble shortly before taking a hardened breath in calculation. "Wolf, if you expect to join this clan you need to be able to not only provide for it, but protect and defend the clan with your life. Now, what can you offer us?" The chausie came to question in terms of hunting and fighting. It wasn't like she was going to simply accept some dead weight within their boundaries. She needed to offer something or else this was simply a waste of time.

    [center][fancypost= width: 450px][font=arial][align=justify]

  • "I can offer you my hunting skills as well as the small amount of fighting skills that I have. I only know enough about fighting to defend myself, however, I am willing to learn, as I've heard that y'all have an excellent mentorship type thing going on. I can offer my wisdom in almost any matter."

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px][font=arial][size=9][align=justify]
A gaze of spiting fire raked down the length of the feline in speculation before offering her a curt nod upon her response. Calculation of essence as she thought, taking the matter into concern before inhaling a breath of frigid gust through parted jaws. "I expect your every loyalty to be laid down in concern for the clan," she rumbled softly before a moment was taken in observation.

She seemed passionate and willing. Energetic with a sense of youth that would be taken towards the acts of training, certainly promising considering Wolf already withhold the bounds of the basic skills. "In that case, Wolf, welcome to Riverclan," she stated with a bland tongue before offering a warm smile that was quick to fade. "Any further questions can be taken to the concerns of your newly found clanmates, I'm sure they'll be happy to give you a tour and further educate you upon our traditions if wished," the deputy came to speak with a friendly gaze that came to traverse upon her friends before she was prepared to depart in order to attend to other matters.

  • "Thank you. I trust that I will be given a paitent and willing mentor, who will help me to understand your ways." She responded, as she rose to her paws, prepared to follow the female to her new home. // rushed + how will the apprentice ceromony work

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px][font=arial][size=9][align=justify][welcome to riverclan!
before the apprentice ceremony, you need to find a mentor for yourself, i suggest asking (and introducing yourself to other members) in the chat thread located in our ooc board. once you've found yourself a mentor, your ceremony will take place in the next riverclan meeting!]
