For the first time in a while, Hercules was actually happy. He didn't have to fake a smile anymore and it was great. It really was a god send that Alex had come back. Hell, the mastiff was even working on those unfinished projects again. Having his best friend back seemed to be just what he needed. Though his mind still wandered back to not so nice territory. Elizabeth Schuyler. Alexander had asked about her at his joining and for the most part, no one really knew her. It had been a while after all, and something told Herc that he was going to end up being the bearer of bad news. But he let the thought sink into the back of his mind as he quietly sewed a bit of lace onto a strip of fabric.

  • [align=justify]Always the charmer, Alexander didn't even consider that Hercules might be busy before barging in on him, tail wagging a mile a minute behind him. Yes, he knew that the huge mastiff was probably doing something or another, but he hadn't actually talked to him in ages and like hell he wasn't going to catch up with him. "Yo, osito!" Had he ever actually told Herc about that name? he wasn't really sure he had, but whatever. Alex walked right up to the bigger dog, grinning at him as he peeked over his shoulder at what he was doing. "What are you making, Herc? Who's it for?"

It's not like Hercules minded anyway. He was grateful for friends coming around. Hearing Alex's greeting, he shot back with a "What's up, baby girl?" looking over at his friend and smiling. This was the first time he'd heard the nickname. Maybe Alex had used it before and Herc paid no attention at the time? But either way it was nice. He looked back to his work and shrugged his muscled shoulders. "Not too sure, honestly. It's mostly just practice but I might turn it into something at some point." he explained.

  • [align=justify]His heart warmed a little bit at the affectionate nickname, though he didn't stop to respond as the conversation had moved on already. Mostly because of him, but nevertheless, he didn't want to make this confusing. When Hercules did end up responding to his barrage of questions, he listened intently before giving a quick nod. "Yeah, that makes sense." Alexander stood there for a minute, before taking a few steps closer and eventually sitting down. "Maybe you could teach me a little bit about this stuff. I mean, you really enjoy it and all, and I thought maybe you'd be okay with that, but it's fine if you don't want to. I'd understand."

"I'd love to! Any time you wanna learn, hit me up." he grinned. Herc enjoyed hearing that Alex was interested in trying to learn to sew and such. It was nice. The canine set the cloth aside and stretched a bit after getting down to all fours. It felt good after sitting there for... what- an hour now? Something like that. The time often flew by for him, so he barely had time to register anything but morning and night. "It'll be fun. Maybe you'd like knitting... or maybe working a machine... but pricking paws isn't fun..." he murmured softly, eyeing Hamilton curiously.

  • [align=justify]Alex nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, but aside from the pricking, I'm sure I'd enjoy it." The canine stopped for a second, before settling on his decision. "But not right now. You seem like you've been here for a while, so it'll do you some good to stretch a little bit. We could go find something else to do, maybe go for a walk?" he suggested, looking over at the large dog quickly only to find his eyes already resting on him. The smile that had been there before grew into a little grin.

He hummed softly. "A walk would be nice, how romantic." He teased with a shining smile right back at him.

  • [align=justify][size=11]"Well, I've gotta find some way to charm you now, Herc, don't I?" he responded right back, half-teasing him and yet still meaning it, even if he wouldn't dare to tell him that. "Since you were the one doing all the work, it only seems fair that you'd be the one to choose the path, yeah? I mean, so you can decide where you wanna go and I don't drag you along on some boring walk," he suggested, moving right along with the conversation.

Herc chuckled. "It won't be boring. I got my best friend with me. Besides, it ain't work if I enjoy doing it." he pointed out with a tiny smug grin. It was true. As long as he did something he loved, it would never be considered work in his eyes. "Now c'mon. You can charm me all you want on the walk." The mastiff lead the way outside, squinting a bit at the bright day. Damn how long had he been inside? Probably too long. Thank god for Alex. "Where should we go? I'm not sure how much there really is to see arpund here." He had to get out more.

  • [align=justify][size=11]Alex gave a playful pout in return, knowing that Hercules was right. He didn't always think he was so great, but talking to Herc never failed to make him feel better about himself. "I suppose you're right. I mean, I think the same way about my writing, so I can understand that," he responded, quickening his pace to keep up with the larger dog. Since he was bigger than Al, he had longer strides, keeping him walking at a trot to stay nearby, though it didn't bother him in the slightest. At the comment about charming him, he gave a little grin and commented, "I'll keep that in mind." He didn't immediately have an answer for the question, however. After a few moments, he suggested, "Maybe we could go to the library or something." That was more for his own sake, but he was sure Herc wouldn't mind the destination too much.

    sorry <3

Hey, Hercules wasn't lying. The dude was so smitten with Hammy (and probably vice versa lets be rael here) that it was a shock they weren't already dating. If Alexander wanted to charm his metaphorical pants off, then Hercules wasn't going to complain one bit. He let out a short breath of laughter at the mention of going to the library. Classic Al, wanting to bury his nose in a book at any moment he could. "Sounds great. Maybe I can find something good. Haven't been to the library in a while." he chattered casually. Maybe he could find something interesting to read? Sewing was nice, but taking a break was great too.

  • [align=justify][size=11]/hey, don't worry about it c:

When he had said he wanted to charm Herc, he hadn't been kidding; he even had a plan all set up in his head. If all went well, and the other did feel the same way about Al as he was hoping he did, then they would ideally be dating by the end of the day. When he heard the other's laugh, he turned his head away slightly to hide the little grin that crept its way onto his face. "I could help you find something once we get there, if you like," Alexander offered after a moment, still slightly facing away from Hercules.

Ive had a horrible feelsy fic idea revolving around Hamulligan and its 10pm and i cant stop writing. My poor boys. I loooove angst myst.//

Dating by tonight would be most ideal indeed. "Sounds good." he said, walking along and happily soaking in the sunshine. Looking over, he spyed Alex still looking away. "Something embarrassing you, baby girl?" he teased with a sly grin of his own. Al resembled some kind of distressed damsel, albeit with a bit more scruff. Though perhaps it was just his attention being grabbed by something else.

  • [align=justify][size=11]//honestly, even if it hurts, angst is great. & you should totally tell me more about it

"What? No! Of course not!" he retorted, immediately turning his head to look at the mastiff. "Why would I be embarrassed of anything? There's nothing to be embarrassed of." Of course, he was lying right through his teeth, but he wasn't going to admit that. Though, his quick response could speak volumes nonetheless. His gaze returned forward after a moment, remaining neutral. At least, as neutral as he could be. He could only hope they'd arrive soon, so he could get around to talking about what he actually wanted to talk about.

Modern au engaged bois but ofc ya cant have a fic without Al cheating. So sad fighting boys with many tears n long talks. wink wonk**

"Yeah yeah..." he laughed, rolling his eyes as Alex pretty much confirmed his suspicions. Hercules decided to let it drop as it was clear Al wasn't keen on talking. He went on into his own little ramblings about the weather, and it wasn't long until they reached the library. Opening the door, he propped it open and motioned to Alexander. "After you, good sir."

  • [align=justify][size=11]//I mean you're not wrong though, + I don't think I've seen it for Hamulligan before either so I think that's a really good idea

"Oh, why thank you," he responded, voice slightly teasing as he entered the building. Alexander's gaze was almost immediately drawn to the books lining the walls, looking through them and getting slightly distracted for a moment before he turned his head away to instead look at Hercules. "I could help you find something first. What do you want to read? Any specific topic or genre or anything?" the canine went on to ask, looking around once more as he waited for a response.

    ee thanks!//

"Umm..." he trailed after he had stepped inside of the building, taking in the mass amounts of books. There were so many to choose from. "I'll think about it as we look for yours." he answered, looking back to Alex.

  • [align=justify][size=11]He gave an apologetic shrug and let his gaze wander around, reading the titles off of the spines of the many books in the shelves all around them. "Hey, suit yourself, osito." If Herc was going to give him free reign, then he could take a while. Al quickened his pace to walk ahead of Hercules, continuing to check out the books as he searched for something interesting to read.

Hercules smiled as Alex began to wander off. It was interesting to see Al in his element. Maybe it was similar when he saw Herc sew and stuff? Probably. The tall male turned down an aisle of his own, letting his eyes scan over the book titles. There were quite a lot history books. After a bit of looking, Herc picked out a war book- detailing past wars and war tactics.
