  • Though the castle was large, and mysterious, and exciting, the avian creature found herself more gravitated to the gardens outside. She had her own garden, once, but that was a long, long time ago. The flowers had probably been long killed by the winter cold, though she missed them. The very sight of the gardens, still in bloom and full of life and color and vibrancy, made a bolt of melancholy shoot through her chest, the avian's wings drooping just slightly. But melancholy was good, to her, as it kept her from dreaming too much. If you remember the past you can't make the same mistake in the future, right? She sure hoped so.

Noelani wandered the gardens with a distant interest, occasionally brightening up as she spotted a flower or herb she recognized - thyme, oregano, chervil - but she never stopped for too long. What did interest her and kept her still, though, was the animals - mostly birds. A few cardinals and sparrows and the like twittered about, flapping their wings and searching for seeds or twigs. They almost frantic but organized motions made the avian still, blinking up at the winged creatures with a sense of envy as sharp as dragon claws. She sat beneath an arching tree to watch the birds, laying her head on her talons and sighing - actually more like an irate huff, which was unusual for the usually sunny creature. Her wings that were just too small to fly tucked in at her sides, silently reminding her that they would not get bigger, that she would not be able to fly like she had always dreamed of. As she closed her eyes a moment a flash of memory made her jolt up, a cold sweat breaking out of her peach-length fur as the feathers on her spine stood up in alarm. Had she imagined it...? Yes. He was gone. She was safe.

  • "Are you alright?" Eden would ask out of concern as he padded over, gazing upon the other. She looked panicked, as though something had frightened her. He couldn't tell what though. Everything looked so peaceful here, so he could only conclude at the moment that she had perhaps awoken from a bad dream. Yes, that might be it, although at the moment he didn't want to pressure her into anything, as he knew personally that being pressured into things was never a good feeling.

  • Lani's ruffled feathers spiked even further as she whirled to face Eden, taking a moment to realize that it was just her new clanmate. The query made her uneasy - she had a chance at a new life here. She could stop lying, and tell the truth. She could get rid of her bad habit of lying about everything. But old habits were hard to lose. "Y-Yeah, I'm just dandy." Noelani replied, mustering a smile towards Eden. "I was just remembering some of the stuff I left back at my old house. Can't really go back, anyhow." She chuckled just slightly, physically waving it off. "This garden just reminded me of one I once had."

  • "Oh, my heavens, I love them." As a matter of fact he had taken to caring for them, befuddling the NPC servants who had been assigned to keep the gardens vibrant in the process. He had actually been in the middle of weeding tulips when he heard clear voies rise from the indistinct hum of life around him and bounded over to Noelani and Eden, dirt staining the white on his chest and a lively gleam in his amber eyes. The Field Marshal gazed around happily, feathered tail swishing back and forth. "It's become a bit of an obsession! I call meetings here, I spend my free time here...I've even started putting little potted plants within the castle. Heh. One of few healthy obsessions one can have, I s'pose?"

  • The lioness' light eyes stayed on Driftingspirit, an amused expression on her face. What a character he was. With a soft rumble of laughter forming in her throat, she glanced at the others there. She had been taking a walk, giving herself time to think. Thinking was something Eva did a bit too much of, as she didn't exactly like interaction all too much. And yet here she was, standing next to three other Edeners. "It is quite beautiful here," she stated, trying to be in on the conversation.

  • "Oh" the liger would respond, having a strikingly unhappy feeling he had just been lied to. But what was he expecting anyways? He was always lied to about how others were doing, that's what they did, they acted all down, and then they tried to lie their way out when they got attention for their saddened behavior. Looking over to Driftingspirit as the leader made their way over, he would nod to them in greeting. "I do say, our territory is quite beautiful, especially as it seems to spread all over the place, not just in one spot" Eden would voice, a small rumble following closely as he thought about how many clans would be jealous of the KoE territory.

  • "Never seen any place like it." the Tribe of Many Storms had been beautiful in its own way, of course, and it would forever remain the place he had found his first home, but that had been a cold, rocky, snowy, windy, stormy beauty; unforgiving, icy, austere, glittery. The Knights of Eden was bright, lively, green, sunny, fresh, fragrant - lots of adjectives, lots of adjectives. Nice ones, though. "What's on everyone's agenda today, then? Anything fun?"

  • "I might teach a few lessons today on various things, but really my main plans are just patrolling around and making sure no one is getting into unnecessary trouble" Eden would reply calmly to Driftingspirit, as the other asked. He wasn't too sure if you could count those as fun, but he honestly had a good time doing it. Perhaps though, it was because normally he didn't run into many rule breakers, and when he did they just happened to be breaking minor rules.
