The Gold Currents are one of the deadliest gangs roaming the streets of Valmark to date.
With a lethal leader shrouded in mystery and his ever-present, ghostlike companion, countless rumors have flown. Few gangs have achieved the Gold Currents's level of infamy, and even fewer are brazen enough to cross them.
That's why, when gang members start showing up dead around the city, panic spreads like plague through The Coop, ragtag residence of the Gold Currents. Who, they wonder, would be so bold as to kill off their members? And why are they targeting only them? Why not other gangs?
Determined to find the truth (and seek vengeance) at any cost, the gang's leader begins blackmailing the leaders of other gangs, people who he feels might be holding a grudge against him or the other Currents. Little does he know that he's in way over his head.
There is a politician on the rich side of town requiring the assistance of a certain specimen of person. The kind of person who knows how to pick locks, pitch successful bribes, and slice the tongues out of those who betray him, and who will do so without batting so much as an eyelash. He needs the help of the Gold Currents and its ruthless leader.
Enter Hana.
Hana is the silent phantom of the Valish slums. She makes no noise, and seems at times to not even breathe. At twelve years old, she was sold into indentured servitude by her indebted, gambling mother. She lived and worked out of a brothel for two years until the day that he walked into her life. A boy who couldn't have been much older than herself, but whose eyes were ancient and whose expression was unreadable. She knew who he was. All the girls at the brothel knew who he was: the leader of the Gold Currents. He only ever came to speak with the owner of the brothel, never for the company of the girls.
Hana knew she had a certain set of skills that could help her win her way out. She just needed to know how to use it to her advantage. So, one day, against her better judgement, she rushed the Gold Current's leader when she saw him coming into the brothel. She wanted to show off her skill-set, and that seemed like her best bet at the time. As if he had been expecting the silent ambush, he knocked her to the floor, observed her for a few seconds, and walked on without a word.
The next morning, she was released into his custody and informed that he would be paying off the remainder of her indenture to the owner of the brothel... But, as long as he remained paying her off, she would be a fully functioning member of the Gold Currents, making herself of use however the leader required.
So, at fourteen years old, he turned her into a lethal weapon. Now, at nearly eighteen years of age, she remains the greatest asset to the gang yet.
The time has come to really test out her abilities, though.
When the leader of the Currents gets the deal of a lifetime from a politician with genuine desperation in his eyes (and who I will play), he requires Hana, as well as two other Gold Currents, to travel across the sea with him on a mission so dangerous, the chance that they won't make it back far outweighs the chance that they will.
And, in the midst of this chaos, Hana seems to be growing increasingly close to a certain friend of hers. This character will be embarking on the journey with them. He's energetic, fun, and perhaps a touch too trigger-happy for comfort. He also happens to be the leader's right hand man. (While Hana is his "left-hand" man.) Now, understand. The leader of the Gold Currents is cold, distant, and unreasonably cruel to everyone around him. That's how he survives.
What nobody could have anticipated is the jealousy he feels whenever he sees Hana and his right-hand man talking together, laughing.
Needless to say, the journey ahead is going to be a long one. And who's to say that it will even be worth it at the end?
Hi! So if you're still reading, you must be interested in joining, which is awesome! There are only a few things that I require you to know before I cut you loose to make character forms!
[✧] This thread requires you to be able to post at a semi-advanced to advanced level! Depending on my muse, I may write anywhere from a few, short paragraph to 1000+ words a post.
[✧] There will be a love triangle going on, which means that I require you to play at least 2 main characters. You will be playing as the leader and his right hand man, while I will be playing as Hana and Lev, the other boy who will be joining them on their journey.
[✧] Don't leave me hanging! Try to post 5+ times a week!
[✧] Annnd that's really all. If you have any plot ideas, don't be afraid to share them with me! Chances are, I'd love to hear it!
Now, without further ado, you can find my characters in the spoiler below!

✦ hana kamal.
✦ was branded the nickname "phantom of valmark" because she literally makes no sound, gives off no scent, and seems almost to cease existing at all.
✦ she is wearing at least five knives on her at any given time and, in fact, sleeps with two of them.
✦ she names all of her knives.
✦ has killed more people than she can count on her hands and toes.
✦ she never really enjoyed working for the gold currents, but a debt is a debt and she's always done what's required to survive.
✦ prefers traveling over rooftops than through the streets. it's slower, but a hell of a lot more fun.
✦ she is, above all, loyal to the leader of the gold currents, and has developed a fierce loyalty to her gang over the past four years.
✦ has several tattoos, but does not brand the one that every gold currents member has: golden, choppy waves.
✦ she clings onto the hope that she will, by some stroke of great luck, buy her way out of servitude and have a life far away from the slums of valmark.
✦ she took dance lessons when she was little, and is actually pretty okay at it.
✦ probably the most patient person on the face of the planet, but even she has her limits.

✦ lev demilio.
✦ okay with demolitions, but his real talent lies in healing.
✦ he comes from a long line of healers, and was trained in healing until he was fourteen years old, when his parents and younger sister were murdered by a mob of superstitious zealots who thought they were witches.
✦ he managed to escape to safety, but was homeless and had nowhere to go. so he stowed away on a merchant ship to valmark and quickly became involved with local gangs there, earning money by carrying out menial errands.
✦ really, he's super quiet and cynical. he spends a lot of time writing down his thoughts.
✦ did i mention that his ex-lover was the one who helped him escape to safety while his family was being brutally murdered, because that's a thing that happened.
✦ he's a very talented writer, and has earned some cash on the side by writing for local papers, organizing information for merchants, and even helping out a military officer one time. ((he's not too proud of that one, but cash is cash.))
✦ he's only nineteen years old, but feels as if he is too heavily involved with the currents to ever leave.
✦ he has pretty terrible survivor's guilt, and suffers frequent nightmares.
