BEECHCLAN
OUR HISTORY
BeechClan was created by the leader Morningstar and her sibling (an elder) Galestorm. They had been rogue's all their lives going from twoleg stronghold to forests and beyond, searching for a home. That is when they found other cats similar to them. They created the 5 clans, Beechclan, Reedclan, Shaddedclan, Frostclan and Breezeclan. They consulted and made according borders including a lake in the very center. A small island holds the gathering place
TERRITORY SECTION AND CAMP
The territory itself is floored with soft dirt mixed with smooth pebbles and fallen leaves from beech trees. Most of these trees are very slender so sunlight is dappled throughout the territory. Primary prey is finches, robins, jays, and other small birds as well as squrriels and small mice. It's been known for large predators such as badgers and bears to be seen on territory due to good burrow areas, a consistent source of food and the few beehives on Beechclan territory.
The leader's den is under the roots of the large tree inside it's roots and such, the leader makes announcements on its branches and cats are allowed to sun bathe on the branches when there's a lot of light. The nursery is also under the tree except for its in a different area under the tree. It's small and can really only fit about three queens and two kits per queen.
On the other side of the large beech tree to the left is a medium den with with roots on the sides, it's the medicine cat den and the roots are used as storage for herbs. The floor has nests for injured cats. There's a small pool area that has a stream that leads back to the lake (I'm assuming there's a lake) and goes by the gathering stone. it is known for the medicine cat to drink from the pool if they have an unclear vision, it is called the Clearing Pool.
The warriors den is on the other side of the tree. it is very similar to the medicine cat den except its inside a large rock that had been slightly hollowed out. The floor has roots spreading across it to make individual areas for nests. The walls are barren though so the cats have to put up mud and moss to insulate in the winter. The warriors den is also closest to the nursery for better protection.
The apprentices den is next to the medicine cat den on the right and then beside the apprentice den is the elders den. The two dens are about medium sized as well. The apprentices den is not very well protected being made out of about to large roots and then twigs and brush and mud. A large log resting against roots then makes up the elder den with lichen hanging down for more privacy and to make the noise from outside the den not as loud.
The camp is lined with thick bramble and some roots. There are some areas less protected but it is covered with thick mud and checked on daily. There's only two ways two exit or enter within the camp like most...the main entrance, and the tunnel which goes out to a dirt spot. This exit is near the elders den.
RELIGION
Like most Clans we follow StarClan. In order to speak with StarClan we usually travel to the Star Cave with is a large cave that shimmers in the moonlight and sunlight as if stars filled it.
TRADITIONS
The main tradition of BeechClan is the "Salmon Hide." Although there are only a few bears within the area of the clans, bears will still head to the river during salmon runs. In the clans area it only happens once a year during new leaf. This is a day where cats are not allowed outside of camp.
Another tradition is "Rebirth." When a cat in the clan dies, it is buried like usual. But BeechClan believes that although they are dead, the cat can still give back to nature, so the cat who has passed is buried with a beech tree seed.
Another tradition is cats who want to mate and have kits together must first travel to the Star Cave and ask permission from StarClan.
