So, he had chosen to venture a small distance from camp and as soon as he had spotted it, he knew that he had to do something about it. He could not let such an opportunity go to waste. Here he was, a small child stood before a rather large rock. The more that the russian youth gazed at it, the more that he felt compelled to scale it. After all, this was something that in his eyes, qualified as a physical challenge and once he had set his mind on it, he would not back down too easily from it. He circled the rock, mind racing as adrenaline began to sear through his veins, a giddy high clouding his judgement as he tipped his head up to peer at the top of his challenge. At first, he placed his forepaws against the side of the rock, standing up tall on his hind legs to see if he could possibly just hop up but that was out of the question as he could barely even touch the top of the rock with his paw.

For a brief moment, Klaus was at a loss and was rather unsure of what to do however, it did not take the russian blue feline long to noticed something. Perhaps, if he ran instead and got a good start before jumping, he would be able to get up there. He flicked his ear as he pushed off of the side and was once more reunited on the ground with all four paws firm in the dirt. The child trotted back a few paces, excitedly attempting to work out how much of a run he would need. However, being so young and so eager, he just decided to instead make an educated estimate at what he should do. Klaus drew in a breath, grin curling slightly at his lips as he stepped back a little bit. He took a run at the rock, shifting his weight onto his hind legs at the last possible moment so that he could propel himself upwards. He leaned back slightly, pushing off hard on his back legs as he did so and for a few moments he found himself sailing through the air. However that did not last for long and relatively quickly he found that his paws had collided with the somewhat smooth surface of the stone jutting out of the earth. He flicked his ear, turning to face the way that he had ran from with a tame sense of pride fizzing up in his chest like a carbonated fluid. He sat himself down, fluffy tail neatly curling around his tail as he did so, a peaceful sigh bursting from his mouth.

"I'm the biggest Windclanner ever" the child chirped delightedly, his words more directed to himself than anyone else as his smile split into a joyous little grin. Klaus sat perched atop of a rather large rock, accomplishment clearly etched into his expression as he leaned back slightly, powdered baby blue eyes shut as he savoured the moment. Of course, no one else would really grasp what it felt like to him but he was a young child, barely even two months at that, and to him it was great because he had been able to do something that others may have told him he would not have been able to do. Despite internal doubt, he had still done it and from his perspective, he was mighty for doing so. Like a great warrior or warlord sat fiercely upon their high perch.

  • Henry often wished his own childhood had been filled with exciting activities and lots of friends and laughter. However, he had not been able to have such a pleasant experience. He had been severely ill when he was young, which prevented him from doing a lot of things. He was simply fragile and would often be reprimanded for even running about the house. Not only that, but he had extremely poor eyesight and glasses were rather expensive, especially back in his time. While his family had a lot of money, they wanted to believe he was just clumsy for quite some time before finally realizing the reason he was running into walls and various other objects was because he couldn't quite see them. He would have never met anyone his age if it wasn't for them living beside the Utterson's. As Henry had gotten older, his father would grow a bit concerned about how withdrawn and, quite frankly, awkward his son was. He intended for Henry to be a soldier initially but it was clear that wouldn't happen, as the boy's fragile nature didn't fade when he arrived in his pre-teens. So, the only other option was clearly for his son to become a politician, which he wouldn't be able to do if he couldn't even look someone in the eye and hold a decent conversation. So, he had invited over the Utterson's youngest; John Utterson. From then on, a splendid friendship was born that would last until the boys grew into men that were well into their late forties and early fifties. They would be friends until Henry's death in 1869, with John having to be the one that pulled the trigger. No, Henry didn't regard his death as an end to their friendship. If, by some miracle, Utterson were to show up at the border tomorrow, he would greet the other man with absolute joy. After all, he'd been the one who asked him to pull it.

Of course, it was clear that his father's plan hadn't worked out exactly as he hoped. While Henry had one friend, it was just that. One friend. He felt comfortable around John and those that worked in his house but that was it. He had no other friends. There had been Lanyon as well, who he had eventually felt comfortable with and had occasionally spent the day with but even then he often preferred John's company over anyone's. As he grew older and became a doctor, he had to learn how to become more confidant in social settings. While his social skills eventually developed, there were still times where he'd become withdrawn for long periods of time or simply feel uncomfortable in highly sociable settings, often unsure of how to act or what to say.

All this to be said, he was glad to see one of the new kittens of the clan standing atop a rock and appearing to be enjoying himself greatly in dong so. Henry would slowly limp over, settling down and looking towards the child with a light smile on his maw. "It seems that you are. Be careful, though, you wouldn't want to slip. After all, the larger someone is, the harder they will fall," He would state, although amusement was in his gaze. While he meant the warning as a serious precaution, he was sure the child would be fine. Besides, he was right here. If anything went wrong, he'd certainly be able to treat the boy quickly. "How'd you get up there anyway?" He'd then ask, having not seen the boy climbing moments ago.

Family, believe it or not it was something that she wanted, something that she wanted to surround herself with but it was also something that she found herself pushing away harshly and rejecting any notions of affection. She wanted her children to train hard and to become the soldiers that she knew they were destined to become. She wanted the best for them and she knew she could raise them all on her own. She didn't need help from outside sources and she wanted to love them to the best of her own ability because she just didn't want someone else to steal them away from here. Perhaps this stemmed from her past but it was a feeling that sent a measure of dread through her agile body. Breathing hard as she stepped forward to watch her son take that amazing leap at his age sent some warmth into her form and she felt a small smile curve her muzzle, just a faint twitching of lips before she sat down and gave a light nod of her head. "Outstanding jump, Klaus. I'm proud that you tried and accomplished such a feat. Remember things are not dangers they are challenges and we train hard to meet them."

Yeah watch out. Don't know when someone might push ya. A little snort escaped the demon's grasp, unable to hold back the amused sound as she sauntered over, glancing over at Blueridge before gazing back at Klaus. Then a lovely little thought bloomed in the crevices of her diseased mind: an accident during playtime was so easy to fake. "Hey Klaus," hummed Victorianpup as she bounced forward, rearing up on her back legs and propping herself against the boulder with her front paws, a smile on her maw, "You want to play?"
