sam sat at his lunch table, eyebrows furrowed as he attempted to zone out the rather obnoxious gossiping of the three girls. the ginger sighed softly, attention snapping up to the blonde who had called his name. erin smith, the ringleader of the group. the other two, peyton ryder and jamie guenther stuck to her side like glue. they didn't even think for themselves. he hadn't intended on joining the group, rather just sit at their table once so people would stop bullying him. that wasn't how it turned out, though. he was allowed a spot into the group at a cost, forging hall passes, absence excuses, and many other things for the girls. it was okay at first, no one really bothered him. but he was getting fed up at this point.

"sam! i need to to write a note with finn's handwriting." erin had a glint in her eyes, which immediately made the boy uneasy. she began speaking again, telling him what to write. when he finished, his blue gaze flicked up. he felt as if someone was staring at him. to his surprise, someone was. his eyebrows raised, his face dusting pink. the culprit was a boy around his age, and looked rather cute (your character <<). he looked away after a minute, handing the paper to erin, who folded it into a square, and handed it off to jamie. a smirk appeared on the brunette's features as she stood from her seat, heels clicking as she approached the jock.

"hey finn, i was wondering if you could give this to katie?" she pointed a polished finger at a rather chubby girl, sitting all by herself. finn quirked a brow, but obliged, taking the note from her and approaching the girl. erin and peyton giggled, but sam stayed quiet. he was getting quite fed up with them all. they stood, and peyton followed, walking to a spot in the cafeteria where they'd get a 'perfect view'. sam huffed, refusing to watch, a slight frown on his features. his eyes drifted back to the boy from earlier, catching him staring once more. he held his gaze for a few moments before looking at erin, who was laughing along with the other two. he looked back at the mysterious boy, wanting badly to approach him.

  • I'd love to join this!! ((Heathers is amazing! Nice to see another fan)))

Everyday. Everyday that ginger haired male would sit in the same place in the lunchroom, at the exact same time. Liam couldn't help but stare and marvel at how the ginger haired dealt with the three popular girls that constantly bothered him. It was all so tiring. The school was practically split down the middle, like two gangs at the verge of a war. Anyone that wasn't in either gang, was picked on until they chose a side. Liam hated it, and obviously wasn't enjoying being in the most popular ring of people in the school. It was boring and exhausting, especially when it was the same silly quarrels each and every day, over the same stupid, meaningless things. The green eyed male resisted the urge to roll his eyes when he saw Erin Smith and her two puppets bothering the ginger male yet again. For some reason, there was something about this male that intruiged him, he could barely take his eyes off of him without feeling the need to go over to say something to the other male.

Liam's breath hitched in his throat when the ginger haired male caught his gaze, causing him to look away quickly, trying to play cool, which hopefully worked. He couldn't help but notice the dusty rose coloured blush that was painted onto the ginger male's cheeks, however. Cute. Liam glanced over to one of the girls at his table, whom of which had been talking to him, without him even realising.
"Ooh, Liam!~ You gotta crush on a girl on the other side of the room? You seem really out of it today."

He blinked, and then scoffed, shaking his head,"No, no girl at least. Out of it? Nah, just thinkin' a lot."

The female at his table gave a high pitched giggle,"You lookin' for a boyfriend?"

"Can we not play 20 questions?" Liam replied, as the female gave another shrill giggle, before gossiping with the others next to and around her. This was exhausting, and as he glaced back at the ginger male, he noticed the other male looking at him again! Liam almost blushed noticeably. He yearned to get up and go over to talk to him, but if he got up from the table, everyone's eyes would be on him. Liam was infamous, practically. Although, the green eyed male could play it off as requesting to have a hall pass or absence note written. Deciding not to take the chance, at least for now, Liam settled back in his chair, listening to all of the gossip and flirting going on between the group of populars.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]y ES)

at this point, erin had noticed sam eyeing the teen, smirking. "drool much, sammy?" the other two laughed, causing sam to stand a bit more straight as he tore his eyes from him, rolling them at erin. jamie piped up, "his name's liam aisley. he's in my american history."

"i'm going to talk to him." the ginger decided, nodding. he shot another glance at liam, before his blue irises met erin's own. "bring up the lunchtime poll or something, you're awful at conversations." a smirk slid across her features, but the boy had turned completely. he bit his lower lip slightly, a nervous habit of his, before he set off towards liam.

"i thought you were done with high school boys!" jamie called after him, stifling a giggle.

"can it, jamie!" sam yelled back, shooting her an annoyed look. his eyes were trained on the other as he approached. his heartbeat quickened. god, what was he doing?

he stopped just in front of liam, staring for a brief moment before speaking, "hello, liam aisley." a slight smile appeared on his features, mindlessly running a hand through his messy locks. another habit of his.

he glanced up, meeting erin's eyes. the lunchtime poll. he exhaled softly, meeting the other's intriguing green eyes once more.

  • Liam tried to seem as though he was engaged with the gossip going on at his table, but he couldn't help but notice that the ginger haired male had gotten up from his chair, and was now walking in his direction. It also seemed as though the three girls were keeping him up about it. Cute. The green eyed male pulled a hand up and ran it through his hair, before hearing Jaime call after Sam.

"I thought you were done with high school boys!"

What did that statement mean? Liam was curious, but decided not to think too much of it, knowing that it was most likely that the girls were just keeping him up about coming over and talking to him. The dirty blonde male glanced at the gossiping classmates at his table, before looking back up and seeing that the ginger haired boy was standing directly in front of him. Liam felt his cheeks threaten to heat up, but thankfully he managed to keep his cool,
"No need for the formalities. Just call me Liam. What's your name?" The male questioned, a light smirk playing on his features. It was honestly quite cute how he was addressed so formally by the other male. Liam's green eyed were filled with curiosity, why exactly had the ginger male decided to approach him? Even so, he was quite glad that he hadn't had to be the one to get up from the popular table. That would have been chaotic.

As their eyes met, Liam tilted his head slightly, his features showing a hint of amusement. This ginger haired male seemed shy. He watched as the male ran a hand through his hair, which was a habit, seemingly. Liam understood, he had that habit too, as well as many other bad habits. Smoking was one of those bad habits. He only did it when he was stressed, however.

Glancing to the side, he saw that the people at his table had stopped gossiping, and were now listening to their conversation. Liam shot them a hardened glare, as if warning them. They hurriedly continued speaking. Letting that light smirk grace his features again, he let his gaze fall back on the male in front of him, patiently awaiting an answer.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]at this point, it was becoming clear that sam was nervous. his heart pounded in his chest, and he felt.. something. not a good something, more like something bad was going to happen. he ignored it, though. it was probably just his anxiety ridden mind making up extremes.

"alright, liam." a breathless chuckle escaped his mouth, evident that he was trying to remain calm. he didn't want to turn into a flustered mess in front of him. "i'm sam." the boy paused, "sawyer." he fiddled with the hem of his shirt, suddenly becoming rather self-conscious. he was wearing rather preppy attire- a solid-blue sweater over a typical white dress-shirt, as well as khakis. an outfit that he'd previously get bullied for, but not so much anymore. it wasn't that people had accepted him, it was more that they were afraid to upset him. after all, he hung out with the bitchiest girls of their high school. he had to be just like them to put up with them, right?

as their eyes met, he could feel the heat rising to his cheeks. so much for trying to keep his cool. sam averted his eyes, staring at anything but liam for a brief moment before looking back at him. he, too, had noticed that the others were listening in. liam's glare, though it wasn't aimed at him, had caused the teen to tense up as well. although, as the other looked back at him, he instantly relaxed.

  • Liam smiled,"Nice to meet you Sam Sawyer." He replied, noticing how anxious Sam had seemingly grown. The green eyed male could tell that the giner haired male was anxious, due to the fiddling with the hem of his shirt and the light blush that covered his cheeks. How adorable! The dirty blode male stood up, and leaned over to Sam,"Hey, they're listening in and frankly, it's quite irritating. We can talk in private." He spoke kindly, fully aware that the people at his table had grown silent once more and their eyes were glued to the two males. Liam gave a shrug,

"I've got stuff to do, guys, you can live without me for a short time." The male spoke to the popular students at his table, before motioning for Sam to follow him. His green eyes were soft and kind, hoping that this wasn't coming off as weird or intimidating in Sam's mind. Liam felt a smile pull at the corners of his lips as they moved away from the lunch table,"I could tell their staring was making you uncomfortable. They can be irritating at times. Anyway, any particular reason you came to talk?" He questioned, curious. After all, a ginger haired male dressed in quite preppy clothing approaching him at the popular table was quite strange. Not to mention the fact that approaching him at the popular table took a lot of confidence. Liam admired that. The dirty blonde male raised a hand and ran it through his messy hair, fixing it before glancing back to the ginger haired male. He was quite adorably shy, seemingly. What would an intelligent, straight-A student want with a boy that smoked and was typically bad with a capital letter? Liam didn't even know this boy well, but had been observing him from across the lunch room for a little while, mostly because this male peaked his interest. From the way he handled dealing with Emily and her puppets, to the way he just got on with things.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]sam nodded at liam's suggestion, his soft blue eyes hovering over the group of populars timidly before looking back at the dirty blonde. he followed after him, his mind racing. talk in private. his words made the shorter boy's heart flutter. he wouldn't deny it, though, liam was a bit intimidating. it wasn't that he was scary. it was more like, sam envied him. from the few minutes they'd been talking, he could tell that the other had the confidence he felt that he lacked. he was so cool compared to sam.

as liam spoke, sam didn't exactly know how to respond. i mean, how could he? 'oh, i just saw you staring at me and i thought you were cute.' there was no chance. he paused, thinking about how exactly to word it. his eyes flicked up once more, as he felt other's eyes bore into him. he met erin's piercing gaze. he swallowed. it was a better option than the one he'd thought up. "i have a rather stupid question, actually. ever heard of the lunchtime poll?"

his 'friends' had kept it rather exclusive to those who they deemed fit, but he wasn't so sure about liam. after all, he had been sitting with those who'd erin, jamie, and peyton agreed were worth their time. he resisted the urge to sigh, not waiting for an answer. "you inherit five million dollars the same day aliens land on earth and say they're 'gonna blow it up in two days," as he paused, a soft sigh escaped his lips, "what do you do?"

it was a stupid question. an outlandish one at that. he didn't understand the point of the 'poll' but it did save him from the chance of an awkward situation.

from across the cafeteria, the three girls rolled their eyes, one muttering out some insult directed at sam. erin stood from her seat and began to walk towards the two, though sam hadn't noticed.

  • Even from the moment they talked, Liam could tell that Sam lacked self-confidence. At least, he didnt have much of it. It was fairly obvious, but nonetheless it added to the ginger's cute attitude. The dirty blonde male raised an eyebrow as Sam questioned him about something called 'The Lunchtime Poll.' Having never heard of it, Liam simply tilted his head ever so slightly, and was about to answer when Sam interjected and answered. The green eyed male thought for a moment, before chuckling, "That's a pretty weird question. What would I do? Probably do as much stupid sh!t as I possibly could and have fun while doing it. Explore the world, see awesome things, all that stuff. What would you do?" He questioned, amused that Sam had asked such a question. The question, however, did require you to really contemplate what you would do with that kind of scenario. Was this really what the ginger haired male had come over to ask him? Liam doubted it, but from the way things were going, it wouldn't surprise him. "Such a strange question." He mused truthfully, giving a playful grin to the other male. In truth, Liam was growing fond of this other male. The longer they talked, the more curious the dirty blonde haired male became. Sam was just so random and different, and not to mention interesting to talk to!

If this was how their conversations were going to go every time they talked, Liam decided he wouldn't mind talking to the blue eyed other every day. He loved how it wasn't gossip or snarky comments he was recieving, but genuine and random questions that required a thought process. Even though it was probably just because Sam didn't know what else to say, it was still a nice change from hearing gossip all of the time from the other students at the school.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]sam nodded at liam's answer. it was an honest one, not something that would make him seem modest and humble. his soft blue eyes slightly widened when the dirty blonde question what he'd do. the ginger tilted his head slightly, eyebrows furrowed slightly as he thought for a moment.

"i don't know.. i'd probably spend it to go to paris," he decided, his eyes lighting up. a soft smile played on his lips. "cheesy, i know, but, it's been one of dreams since i was a kid."

he shrugged slightly, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. he had relaxed slightly, not feeling so pressured under everyone's watch. sam opened his mouth to speak again, but was interrupted by the harsh clasp of erin's hand on his shoulder. this caused him to jump a bit, turning his head slightly.

she eyed liam carefully before looking at sam. "come on," she said to him, tugging his arm lightly. sam looked back at liam, smiling apologetically.

"see you around," he spoke, giving him a slight wave before being dragged off by erin.

/apologizes for the length and any spelling errors !! i'm mobile aha

  • ((It's perfectly fine! I understand completely ^^*))

Liam listened to the ginger haired male's reply. The green eyed male saw how Sam's eyes lit up when he spoke about it, and it was obvious that he was really love to go to Paris one day. A minute smile pulled at the corners of Liam's lips, "It's hardly cheesy. Going to Paris would be amazing! Understandable why you'd want to go." He spoke, his own eyes brighter than usual. Maybe talking to someone different than the other populars was good. If definitely felt that way. Liam went to speak once more, but this time he was going to ask Sam if he wanted to meet up sometime after school, seeing as the blue eyed male was so nice to talk to, but suddenly a hand landed on Sam's shoulder, and Erin stared right at Liam for a moment. The green eyed male stared right back, before shrugging and smiling brightly at Sam,"See you around." He replied cheerily enough, as the female dragged him away.

Liam couldn't say he was too happy with being interuppted by Erin, after all, he was having a great conversation with the other male! But, it couldn't be helped. The only thing that comforted the green eyed male was the fact that he'd see Sam again soon enough. Something told him that they would be, hopefully, good friends. Perhaps more than that, but Liam decided not to get ahead of himself for now.

Another thing that the dirty blonde haired male had noticed was how much more relaxed Sam seemed to be when it was just then talking, rather than being watched by everyone at the popular table. It was highly understandable, after all, Liam himself felt slightly on edge, more agitated, when the others listened in on conversations.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]as the two made their way back to the table, erin began to nag the ginger about liam. sam didn't fully respond to a thing she said, his mind racing. would he see him again. i mean, yeah, he'd see him, but would he even have the guts to walk up to him? the other male had sparked sam's interest. he was kind and easy to talk to, but he also gave off that bad boy vibe.

sam stopped at the table, gathering his things along with the others. they headed towards the cafeteria doors, the ginger lagging a bit behind the three. before they exited, he sneaked one last glance as liam. he said his goodbyes to the others as they headed into the restroom. sam walked to his locker, grabbing his things for his next class, glancing up at the clock. there was only a few minutes before his next class, and after that is was the end of the day.

he paused. wasn't there something going on that night? he couldn't put his finger on it for a moment, furrowing his eyebrows.

    the homecoming party.

"damn." he muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair. he didn't want to go, but he knew erin would be mad if he didn't. it was obvious to see the slight boy wasn't a very social person. he had terrible anxiety and never knew exactly what to say when he truly needed. he didn't understand why partying was appealing at all. nothing good came out of it, in his opinion. just crappy hangovers.

his thoughts were interrupted by the loud ringing of the school bell and he hurried to his last class; french.

  • Liam walked back to the table in the lunchroom, and gathered his things before answering a few of the people at the table when they questioned him. The dirty blonde male then left the lunchroom and headed to his locker to pick up his French books, which was his last class of the day, thankfully. The dirty blonde male didn't exactly want to go home, but he also didn't want to stay in school either. Turning on his heel and leaning against the wall outside his French classroom, the male spotted a poster for the homecoming party. Liam's eyes widened slightly as he remembered about it,"Sh!t." He murmured, contemplating. He was one of the most infamous people in the school, he couldn't miss this! That, and the people he hung out with would get p!ssed that he wasn't there.

Liam went to parties all the time, so the homecoming party wasn't really a big deal. Who was he going to go with, though? If he went alone he'd get some questions from the populars he hung out with. He could ask Sam, but somehow that idea didn't seem like a good one. What if Sam stopped talking to him or something along those lines? Liam wasn't willing to risk that.

    (Rushed for school, I apologise)

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]/don't worry about it ! ;v;

sam sat at his usual seat, near the front. he propped his head up in his hand, a small yawn coming from him. he tapped his fingers against the desk, he'd arrived early and had nothing else to do. he sat there for a good five minutes before others had begun to fill the room. there was about ten minutes until the late bell.

the usual chatter of his peers filled his ears, and the ginger did his best to zone him out. the high-pitched giggles, the probably-false information being spread-- it all gave him a headache. he could get through it, though. there was only about an hour of school, and then he'd be out-

to get ready for the party. shit.

  • Liam made his way into the classroom, and sat in his usual designated chair at the back of the classroom. On the way there, however, he gave Sam a gentle smile, knowing that the male had most likely been there early. The ginger haired male was a hardworking, straight A student after all. Sitting back in his chair, Liam stretched gently, before letting a sigh escape his lips as the more giggly students came filing in. Usually, Liam would show up late for class but he wasn't really feeling like getting lectured.

The high pitched giggling, whispering and laughter was enough to induce a migraine on almost anyone. Liam knew that he was certainly sick of it, hearing all of the rumours and irritating voices spouting horrible things to the not so popular people. The only place that the populars and not so populars could get along was seemingly where they ended up after death. However, there were atrocities committed on both sides. From trashing lockers, after school fights, ambushes to even screaming matches and pranks. It was beyond irritating to deal with. Not to mention that the green eyed male oculus barely step foot in the school without being crowded. Yes, he was infamous, yes, he was popular, but that didn't mean he particularly enjoyed it.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]a subtly surprised expression appeared on the teen's face as liam walked past him. he was in his class? sam had never noticed. though, he never cared to pay much attention to the people. he worried more about the content in his classes.

the class went by smoothly. at the sound of the bell, sam clicked his pen and stood. he glanced up, watching others brush past him. he slid his notes into his textbook, stretching slightly before picking up the book. he paused, turning his head slightly. his blue eyes glanced back, searching for liam- if he hadn't already left.

  • The green eyed male wrote down the notes as the teacher instructed. This was perhaps one of the only classes Liam took seriously, because French was one of his passions. The class passed smoothly, thankfully at least, it was last class. Working hard was difficult.

At the sound of the bell, Liam tucked the notes into his French classwork book and stood up, before putting the notebook into his black backpack as other students filed out of the classroom, completely hyped for the homecoming celebration that was happening in about two hours, giving people time to go home and get dressed up. the dirty blonde male looked up to see Sam still in the classroom. A smirk gracing his features, Liam went over to the ginger male,
"You going to the homecoming? "

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]sam turned at the sound of liam's voice, a slight smile appearing on his face. he listened as the other questioned him about the homecoming party, a soft, awkward chuckle escaping his lips.

"yeah- although i'm kinda getting forced," he responded, scratching the back of his neck absentmindedly. he quirked an eyebrow, slightly confused as to why he'd asked. he questioned, "are you?"

sam didn't doubt it- after all, liam was probably expected to go. he was so well-known, it'd probably cause a stir if he didn't make an appearance. it was the complete opposite for the ginger. he did have a choice, in all honesty. he was just too much of a pushover to say no to his 'friends'.

  • Liam smiled lightly at Sam's awkward little chuckle. The green eyed male listened to the ginger haired male's reply, and a sigh left his lips,"Forced? I feel your pain. I'm kind of expected to go." He replied, giving a gentle shrug of his shoulders as he shifted the backpack comfortably onto one shoulder. After all, the green eyed would probably be jumped by the other populars if he didn't show up. However, the blue eyed male being forced? Liam didn't like the sound of that,
"Don't let anyone force you into anything. In fact, would you mind if I hung around you at the homecoming? I'd rather not hang out with the gossip girls."

(Rushed I apologise. my wifi is being transferred to a different broadband.

  • [center][fancypost=border-width:0; width: 380px; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 7pt;]sam nodded, his eyes lighting up when liam'd asked about hanging out with him. it was silly- but he could feel his heartbeat quicken. a slight blush had spread across his cheeks, but it wasn't noticeable. at least, he hoped. it was safe to say that the ginger wasn't used to attention from anyone, frankly. well, positive attention.

"ah- i wouldn't mind..!" he spoke with a nod, trying to keep his composure. he understood liam completely. not only would he probably have been stuck with his 'friends', but he'd also probably get ditched by them sooner or later. it would be nice to stick around someone.. sane for once.

  • Liam smiled in return to hearing that Sam wouldn't mind. Great! The green eyed male was glad that he was able to hang around the ginger haired male at the homecoming, to stop the populars from crowding around him. "I'm glad. Thank you." He spoke, happily so. Of course, some of the populars would still make their merry way over to Liam, but st least if he was hanging out with the blue eyed other, he wouldn't be surrounded by them and their gossiping.
Seeing as it was the homecoming celebration, who knew what was going to happen? the dirty blonde haired male reached up a hand and ran it through his hair,"I'll meet you at the hall in about an hour and a half?" He questioned the other male, a smirk pulling at the corners of his lips.
