Howls echo deep into the night as dark shadows slide through the moonlight like fish through water. A pointed ear, tinged a sandy color, perks at the distant call and tilts its long muzzled head to the moon. Stars sparkle above and the heavy moon washes the dark forest below in luminescent light. The creature huffs to itself and tilts away from the sky to gaze upon its companions that whimper and shudder against the cold wind that whips its way through the snow covered trees.
The creature starts off again, wide paws sinking into the belly deep snow and thrashing its thick tail against the frosty flakes that sprinkle down from above. "Y'Ven," A voice calls, worried with an edge of weariness. said "Y'Ven" turns to gaze upon another of its traveling group with narrowed amber eyes. "The others are cold and cannot continue for much longer." The other explains eyes flashing with pity at the distant weary sigh of another wolf. Y'Ven nods, half to himself, and turns to scan the horizon. In the distance lies a wide cave with green, snow covered foliage covering the wide maw of the cave. He dips his head towards the cave and the others perk with renewed strength before heading to their new camp.
As the sandy colored wolf attempts to follow, he is stopped by the low, shrill call of a young pup. He turns, shoulders heaving as he opens his mouth in a shocked gasp. Surely the young pup was with its mother? But...Why would the mother be out in this cold weather? Y'Ven heads towards the sound, body dropping low as to hid his bulky form from any potential dangers. A female, painted red with blood and being picked at by crows, lays in the camp. Her head is twisted at a horrific angle and from her belly, a young pup tries to fend off the birds that attempt to pick at it.
The older wolf pauses, hesitant for a moment before stalking out towards the pup and scattering the crows in various directions. He doesn't cast the dead female a second look as he peers down at the scrawny pup with slight pity and disdain. Thinking better of leaving the poor thing behind, he scoops it up and carries it after the pack. The cave, warmer than outside but damp against his fur, presses in on both sides as multiple eyes turn to peer at the wolf and his new charge.
A female looks to the pup then to the male with awe and wonder. "Where did you find that?" She spits out, her mouth curling down into a sorrowful frown. The male attempts to let out an answer but the pup's scruff obscures his words making him shrug instead. Placing the pup down the pack begins to gather around in wonder to gaze upon the pup. It had been many moons since they had encountered a youngling, especially with winter rearing his ugly mug at them. What to do now...? The pack glances at one another in confusion each moving to voice their own complaints, thoughts, and feelings.
WHAT IS THE PLOT?
A young wolf (first come, fist serve) is brought into a small pack of wondering wolves. Over time, more wolves (once lost out in the cold or abandoned by their pack) find their way into the pack and become valued members. These wolves are soon tasked with traveling across the snowy tundra in search of the ''Elder Bird'' - A strange bird-like being with the power to restore the land and grant wishes. On their way they must care for their new found youngling and overcome the difficulties that come with new wolves, pups, the meaning of family, and their adventure.
The pup (ᴋᴀɴᴀɢᴀɴ), though seemingly very important to the plot, isn't. Everyone is. The pup will, admittedly, play a large role in the plot (but I won't tell how) and whom ever decides to fill the pup's role will be notified when their role will come. He is small. His legs are thin and lanky, maybe someday they will grow to make him strong or fast but for now he still uses them to stumble around. His fur is creamy through and through with only small black marks near the corner of his eyes and black flecks going down his back and dusting the back of his front legs. His muzzle is speckled black, is nose is black and his eyes are a milky brown. Kan is very bubbly. He is happy to tag along with the other wolves but gets along well with the adults. He gets tired very easily though and goes fro tired cranky to tired falling asleep on his feet very quickly. He has issues with being abandoned and doesn't like to be left alone. Even when he is sleepy cranky he hates to be alone, he doesn't like to see others fight. The pup is played by BlankAce
Y'Ven is a middle aged wolf with a strong sense of right and wrong. Haunted by the death of his former pack, he wondered the slowly dying tundra on his own before coming upon a group of well-meaning wolves. He joined the pack and took up the position of Co-Leader, often making hard decisions should their leader flounder. He is played by me, Orokana, and is irrelevant to the story. *Wink-Wonk*
Annette, a spry young female, is often seen speaking the mind of the other wolves. She puts their safety before her own and is quick to jump to their rescue should the need arrive. She takes up the role of being the young pup's adoptive mother who is quite taken with the youngster. Annette is very adamant in following the path that she deems the right, and only path to peace and living in harmony. She is played by Wolfiee.
Jupiter is a rather shy and morally confused wolf who means well in the end. He is one of the few wolves who think the pup is an omen and are hesitant on accepting them into the pack. He has a rather difficult past and speaks of it very rarely, but the sorrow that hangs within his sad, heavy eyes often speaks of the sorrow and horror that occurred. He is played by _____.
Séverin is oddly colored for her breed. Her entire body appears to be layered with light browns and blacks. Séverine has an entirely black face and muzzle, as well as faint markings on her tail and paws. She has light blue eyes, which appear to be unnerving as they stick out from her black mask. Her body is rather well built, and she's an average size. The female has a very angular frame and nose, giving her a distinct figure. Séverin is a cautious wolf, and untrusting of others. She maintains close relations with the friends she has and her family, but anyone new that she meets is subject to close scrutiny. Only after she’s known someone for a while and has done something to help her to trust them will she become their friend. Her fear that one day she’ll mess up badly enough for her mother to disown her, is always at the forefront of her mind, keeping her from talking freely with other people. Despite her distance with strangers, she remains polite and kind. She's also often nervous, as the pressure of trying to live up to the expectations, she knows her mother has set, often causes her to rethink what she says, making her stutter and seem jumpy. HOW DO ALREADY NAMED CHARACTERS WORK?
Essentially, you adopt them, make them your own, and all of that. You can change the name if you'd like but I prefer if their cannon role stays the same. The Pup, for instance, must be named, given a personality, and an appearance all from scratch. They're a blank slate for you to write on. Their role, however, CANNOT be changed in any way.
I left spaces open for OCs to be made, and they will be given a role in the plot. No, the plot is not character exclusive, it involves all the wolves - Everyone of them. Once an already created or ''cannon'' character is claimed no one else can ask for them and will have to make your own or ask for another one. You may create a form for them (seeing as they don't have an appearance and their personalities could be expanded on) and they will be yours and yours alone. I can't stress that enough, apparently...
