It had been over a week since her assault and the BlizzardClan leader was now ready for her final check-up. She had managed to stave off infection, and the bandages were now only becoming a nuisance. She was a bit apprehensive of the prospect of pulling back the bandages and having the sight of fresh scars greeting her, but it couldn't be helped. Fight enough battles and they were bound to leave a mark on you.

It was true, if you fought enough battles, they were surely to leave a mark on you. Alastor, back when he was a cub to a year, fought a battle that changed his life forever. He fought for his freedom back when those loners kept him prisoner, finally breaking out when he no longer could stand their mental and physical abuse. It clearly did not leave a good mark on Alastor. He was mentally and physically traumatized, even to this day. As a result, the Phantom hid himself away from society, as well as hiding in a mask. His battle surely was nothing like Sweetophelia's, as her scars would heal and eventually go away. But Alastor's, they never will. He will always have a deformity on his face, he will always be a monster.

Alastor happened to be padding into the camp as well, his guard leading in front of him. His guard thought it was a good idea for him to get checked up by Kamari, changing their walking routine. As the two padded over to the medic's hut, Alastor spotted Sweetophelia heading in the same way. The male would keep his gaze locked on the female as he padded along, not speaking.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"Take a picture it'll last longer." Sweetophelia's words came out in a smooth roll, her pale lilac eyes calm as she looked over at Alastor. There was no accusation in her voice, only vague interest. She continued to walk, stopping outside the medic's hut before she glanced back at the masked panther. Through her advanced sense of hearing, she had quickly realised that the medics' hut was empty. Damn. Perhaps Kamari had already taken her apprentices out for a hands-on lesson in the woods. "Going to see Kamari too? Or is it Iselotta this time?" She herself had recommended that he see Kamari regularly, but Sweetophelia was also beginning to notice Alastor's overt attachment to Iselotta. She suspected that he harboured feelings for the white panther, but she had yet to realise that the two were actually engaged in a secret relationship.

Alastor would tear his gaze off of Sweetophelia for a moment, letting out a huff of annoyance at her comment. Alastor should have known she wasn't accusing him of anything, but that was the first assumption that came to his head. He only kept his gaze off of her for a moment, before it found it's way back onto the ragdoll cat, his tail swishing behind him. He continued to pad towards the medic's hut, his ears pricking up at Sweetophelia's comment.

"Going to see Kamari too? Or is it Iselotta this time?"

That made the masked panther completely stop in his tracks. He felt his blood run cold, did she know? Did he somehow manage to mess up so badly, that now the leader of BlizzardClan was under assumptions that Alastor had feelings for Lottie? Or even worse, did she have assumptions that he was engaged in a secret relationship with her? Feeling his heart beat against his chest, the panther began to hear his heart beating from his ears. Letting out a sigh, the Phantom would speak up.

"...I am here to see Kamari," He would respond to her, with a bit of hesitation, still feeling his heart pound in his chest from nervousness. He proceeded to pad forward to the door of the hut, in hopes to get away from the leader to avoid a conversation. But when his guard opened the door to the hut and told him no one was inside, the male would frown, glancing at the BlizzardClan leader.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]It was an open secret that Alastor harboured deep, passionate feelings of attachment to Iselotta. What remained less certain was whether or not his feelings were reciprocated by the pretty Medic Trainee. Iselotta was a kind-hearted, soft-tempered member of BlizzardClan - she showed kindness to everyone. This sweetness could occasionally send off the wrong signals. Because Sweetophelia was unaware of the true nature of Alastor and Iselotta's relationship, she could only assume that he had misjudged Iselotta's openness and was now smarting from his rejection.

"She's not here. I'm going to wait for her to return - perhaps you ought to wait with me. It should be long," the BlizzardClan leader suggested, her brow arching. From her tone of voice, it was clear that this was an expectation - not a request. Sweetophelia glanced to his guard, "You're free to take your leave. I'll be just fine with Alastor." She imagined that he wouldn't be so free with his words if his guard remained hovering over him. Understandably, Alastor resented their ever-present companionship - with the sole exception of Iselotta's shifts.

Alastor would let out a huff of annoyance as he sat himself down on the ground, relazing that he had no choice but to wait with Sweet. He would look over at her, not saying a word as his guard got up and left. His guard didn't argue with the leader, realizing it had the chance to finish duties without dragging Alastor along. Alastor kept his gaze locked onto Sweetophelia, assuming she wanted to speak with him while they waited.

Probably about him kissing Lottie back in the karaoke party. Lottie'a response was probably taken the wrong away. In actuality, she was surprised that Alastor had broken their promise by jeopardizing their relationship. It was probably good that she reacted the way she did, when she came to think of it. It definitely made it look like Alastor harbored deep feelings for her, and that Lottie didn't feel the same in return.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Watching as Alastor's guard stood up to leave without another word, Sweetophelia waited until they were truly out of sight before returning her attention onto Alastor. "Have you spoken with Iselotta recently, Alastor?" the BlizzardClan leader wondered aloud, getting straight to the point this time. She was certain that he would appreciate the gesture, as Alastor already seemed to have suspected the purpose behind their time together, alone and away from any potential prying ears. She considered Iselotta to be a good, loyal friend, and Sweetophelia had not pleased by the spectacle the karaoke party had turned to be, especially because Iselotta had seemed so upset - running away as she had done so then.

Alastor would watch the guard pad off, for a moment, forgetting that Sweetophelia was with him. But once the guard was out of sight and the BlizzardClan leader spoke up, the male was brought back to reality. He would look over at the BlizzardClan leader, his ears pricking up at the question. Oh yes, Iselotta. Had he spoken with her recently, since the karaoke incident? He actually meant to do that sometime soon, probably when she was guarding him next. Or, he could always sneak out in the middle of the night to speak with her, he had done that once. But during that time, he had given her a valentine, and due to her insomnia, she caught him. "...No, I have not spoken with Lottie recently," The male would respond, with a shake of his head, mentally reminding himself to talk with her later to apologize, "I haven't spoken with her since the karaoke session."

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"Hmm," noted Sweetophelia simply, her dark ears twitching. She had thought that it would be the first thing Alastor would try - unless Iselotta was actively avoiding him. "She seemed very upset at the time." Of course, Sweetophelia was concerned for Iselotta, but at the same time she wasn't certain whether or not Alastor would actually go so far as to seek vengeance for his seeming rejection. She cared for Iselotta a great deal, and although she had thought that Alastor was making progress, she no longer was so certain. "Are you planning to speak with her soon?" Would he apologise? She supposed that that answer alone would be enough to determine how much the masked panther had changed since the discovery that he was the Phantom came to light.

Of course Lottie ended up being upset with him when he kissed her. Everyone thought that Alastor was overstepping his boundaries, which was technically correct, but not in the right reasoning. He assumed everyone thought Alastor finally decided to make a move and try to show Lottie that he liked her, but that was not the case. Alastor already admitted his love to Lottie, and she admitted it back to him. What he did wrong was he jeopardized their relationship by attempting to kiss Lottie in public, and he broke his promise.

He promised her he would keep their relationship secret, and he could have blown it all away if she had decided to return that kiss. But luckily, she didn't. Their secret relationship was safe, for now. The Masked Panther would simply nod at her statement, looking away from her for a moment. His ears would prick up at her question, not even having to think how to respond. He was going to talk to her soon. That be when she's guarding him, or if he sneaks out at night to speak with her. Which ever one is more convenient, he supposed.

"...Yes, I was planning to speak with her soon," He would respond, as he found himself looking back at the feline, locking his gaze onto her eyes. As Alastor thought about it, he would prefer if he sneaked out, so he could be alone with her. Of course he could be alone with her while she was on guard, but if he met her in the middle of the night, surely there would not be anyone around to catch them together.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Secret relationships were not a topic Sweetophelia was so unfamiliar with. Her oldest twin sons had been borne from her affair with Tsubodai. It was the stigma of their shared family name that compelled Sweetophelia to keep silent on their past relationship. Interbreeding and intermarriages were not unheard of in Westeros, particularly of the Targaryen house. But they had spent most of their lives out of their birthplace, in clans where such traditions were unheard of, at least in the recent years.

She could hardly even summon the courage to discuss the matter with Riddlersgame, let alone with the rest of BlizzardClan. It was simply better to let sleeping dogs lie. Her younger, Lucerys, had no interest in returning to the clans, content to live out the rest of his life in isolation after the passing of his wife, Malaella. Whereas Jaehaerys was still engaged to Evangeline and had a bright future to look forward to. Sweetophelia had no interest in turning any negative attention onto either of her sons.

"Will you apologise?" She didn't realise that the black panther would - but for a different mistake entirely. "She was your friend when no one else was - I would hate to see your friendship ruined," Sweetophelia remarked with no falseness. She cared a great deal for Iselotta, her friend, and Alastor was slowly growing on the BlizzardClan leader as well - it would be a shame to see sadness brought on both of them.

As Alastor looked over at her, he would slowly nod at her question. "Yes... I was planning to apologize," The male would say, finally speaking up after a few silent moments. He supposed Sweetophelia was under the assumption that he was going to apologize for overstepping his boundaries. If that was the case, she wasn't exactly incorrect. He would also be apologizing for almost jeopardizing their reltionship, while apologizing for overstepping his boundaries. Though, Alastor was not going to tell her what he was going to apologize for. If she asked, Alastor would lie. He did not want the leader out of all BlizzardClanners to know their secret. He didn't know how Sweetophelia would react, and he didn't exactly want to know.

"...I would hate to see it ruined as well," Alastor would find himself agreeing with the BlizzardClanner leader, with a swish of his tail. It was true, Lottie was the only to become his friend. Actually, the two met before he was announced as the Phantom. Despite after his crimes were revealed to the clan, Lottie was still there for him. She volunteered to be his guard, and even swore her life on him. No one else dared to swear their lives like Lottie. No other guard treated him as kindly, she was the only guard to treat him like a person and not a monster.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"Hmm," Sweetophelia murmured, her dark ears flicking. Alastor couldn't have guessed her intentions, but even if the BlizzardClan leader had been aware of the true nature in Alastor and Iselotta's relationship, she truly wouldn't have cared much. Sweetophelia had little interest in meddling in the romantic relationships of her clanmates. So long as Alastor and Iseotta's relationship was safe and consensual, she wouldn't comment.

"Aside from that though, you've making a lot of progress lately, Alastor," the BlizzardClan leader remarked, her gaze shifting back to his. "Tell me, if I asked you now, how would you describe your actions to RiverClan?" The masked panther could easily lie if he wanted, but it was still not certain whether or not Sweetophelia would believe him.
