  • I'D WISH PLANTLIFE WOULD GROW ALL AROUND ME

To say that Honeydew wasn't watching the clan they were born into would be a lie. They were a curious creature, after all. The small slime creature raised a brow at the sight of the riverclanners wandering around territory. They hummed and curiously rubbed at their chin. Oh yeah. They almost forgot. They had a chin! This whole 'copy parts of the creature you see around you' thing was great! They had arms! And legs! They could move! This was much more fun than sitting around all day like most plants do. Honey had already copied arms, legs and a pair of triangular ears onto their form.

The sweet smelling creature hummed and tilted their head curiously. They've seen these weird... initiation parties show many others into their family. Honey couldn't help but be happy for them. The idea of a family this large must be exciting. How many brothers and sisters someone must have! The melon slime couldn't imagine it. You'd never be alone! A smile spread across their face (they had a face too! Exciting!). It must be nice. Being stuck in the ground for such a long time had taught honeydew that they never wanted to be alone again.

Honeydew took a deep breath, ears (Ears! They still couldn't believe it!) perked up with pride. Okay. They've tried this many times before. But today is the day. They've studied all they could about this large family. What these land walkers had to do to get in. They would make it. They looked like a land walker! Well... Honey looked down at themself. As much as a cat like, bipedal slime monster could anyways. Honey gave a sad smile. Nope. They would make it. They couldn't reject them. They would fit in just fine! And if not, they could literally shift themselves until they did!

They sighed, not realizing they were holding in their breath. Honeydew let themselves fall onto their front paws, walking like most of the creatures in the family. Well... If not all. They lost count. Honey huffed and glared at the ground, determined. They wouldn't lie. It was harder walking on four paws, but they've gotten plenty of outside practice. Honey smiled and took a few steps forward towards they invisible line they have heard be called a 'border'. This was until they were a few measly paces from the line when they tripped on one of their paws, squeaking loudly in shock as they toppled forward onto the ground. They sat up, rubbing at their aching head (ahhh!! LIMBS!). Talk about a great first impression...

    PEOPLE HELP THE PEOPLE

Moth was minding her own business, staring at the colours of the newly leafing trees, when something toppled down nearly to her with a loud squeak. The small feline whipped around as soon as she could, staring towards the oddly coloured creature. Nonetheless, a smile spread on her face.

"Hello... are you ok? You had a bit of a fall there..." she murmured, stepping closer towards the clumsy feline, who was now rubbing their head. "I'm Moth, by the way... if you wanted to know... I mean, you might not have done... but still..."

Honeydew squeaked nervously. Of course. This was the one thing they forgot to study. Communication! They had no idea what this land walker just said! The slime monster sat with their legs crossed, nervously fiddling their fingers together. Oh wait. Their gaze snapped down to their hands. Right. Hands. Paws. Honey stuck their tongue out in concentration as their hands molded back into paws. That would take some getting used to.

They tilted their head as they stared back at Moth, smiling nervously. Their eyes flickered down to the ground before back up at the feline. Honeydew nervously adjusted their paws into the shape of a heart, which they have previously scene as a sign of peace and love. Honey didn't want to hurt anyone. They just wanted to be accepted. Hopefully this land walker would get their message.

Where would they even go if they weren't accepted? Boy, they had no idea. Probably just continue wandering until they did find a place they fit in with. Were there other families? Would they ever find another one?

As the feline squeaked, Moth smiled gently. They were clearly very nervous - maybe they were even mute. Moth decided to sit down to show them that she wasn't trying to be mean or threatening. The stranger seemed to have had the same idea, as they made their into a heart. Moth smiled gently, copying their movements.

The female then pointed to the clan territory, and then to the stranger before her, trying to ask if they wanted to join. Deciding that it would probably be best to find out if they could talk, Moth made a symbol for speech. All the time, she remained smiley and fairly happy.

Honeydew let out a sigh of relief, seeing that Moth was also friendly. The fruit slime smiled brightly, gently clapping their paws together. They soon hummed quietly in confusion at the sight of the pointing. Were... they accepted? Honeydew smiled nervously, nodding to keep the conversation going.

When he saw Honeydew, he slowed, "Oh, is this a new joiner?" He realized he hadn't heard any conversation going on upon his approach, so he had to wonder if something was going on.

Honeydew perked up at the sudden sound echoing through their gelatinous form. They shivered slightly as they stared nervously at the honorguard, ears turning back. The slime monster coughed nervously, turning down to the ground. They could feel their face beginning to glow red, the heat melting their yellow slime form. Honey let out a quiet, nervous shriek and reached up, trying to reform themselves before anyone noticed them melting. How embarrassing!
