  • /I'm super busy with school and I really can't manage more than one character, so I'm sending Briar off for a while (maybe 3 months) until I can manage her again! I'm sorry if this causes inconvenience to anybody!

    It all happened so fast.

Briarpaw had been out exploring. Just because she had become an official apprentice didn't mean she had lost her adventurous spirit. She had strayed too close to Twolegplace, tempted by all the strange sounds and scents.

And before she knew it, a pair of ugly pink hairless hands grasped her, lifting her up as she writhed in the grip of the Twoleg. Her legs flailed, and she bit into the Twoleg's skin, feeling her young teeth pierce tender pink flesh. A shout came from the Twoleg, and in one motion, they flung her into some sort of contraption, a box thing with metal bars. She stuck her paws out the bars, hissing and yowling, terrified. The Twoleg put the cage into a monster, and the monster began to growl fiercely, before it's strange black paws began carrying them away faster than a StarClan warrior.

    Wasppaw of Skyclan

//aaahh i feel you my friend ;;v; take your time - we'll miss you and Briar ;;v;;; I wish you luck my pal!

Wasppaw would be lying if he said he didn't constantly worry about his little sister, Briarpaw. Even after she became an apprentice, and was far bigger than when she was a kitten, he still worried. It was just a feeling he could never seem to shake off. After...after Snowbloom's death, it was difficult not to stress out every time he didn't see her calm and safe in camp. So, since becoming a medicine cat apprentice, Wasppaw had used much of his free time to keep an eye on his little sister. Often he'd use the excuse of gathering herbs to join her on patrol, or to hover near training area to watch her practice her battle moons or simply invite her along to search for herbs.
And this particular morning was no difference.
Though he had rather large paws, Wasppaw was surprisingly light-footed and careful as he padded through the forest, following the sounds of rustling bushes and crunching leaves against feet that trailed in his sister's wake. He was mindful to keep downwind, not wanting to ruin her fun, while also sniffing the air constantly for any sign of foxes or enemy cats. It wasn't until they reached the twolegplace did Wasppaw finally get the inkling of a notion...perhaps he was being silly?
For all her energetic and rowdy ways, Briarpaw wasn't one to get herself into a bad situation - at least, not one that she couldn't get out of. Wasppaw frowned slightly, suddenly feeling guilty for not trusting his sister more. Sure, what happened to....to their mother was a scary, sudden thing, but to keep his sister shackled in that memory wasn't fair to her. Not when soon she would grow to be a fine, strong warrior. If he kept clipping her wings, how would she ever grow to fly?
So, with a heavy sigh, Wasppaw turned around and decided to head back. He'd take the time to prepare something for her when she got home - like maybe feathers in her nest? He smiled brightly, wondering if she'd like that. Perhaps she'd talk to him about her training, or maybe what she found while exploring the twoleg place? Maybe they'd get Stumpypaw to join them and they'd all relax and enjoy themselves -
Suddenly, the scent of twoleg drifted in the breeze, and just as Wasppaw turned around, he heard a screech.
    No...!

Paws pounding on the hard forest floor, Wasppaw ignored teh scratching and tugging of the undergrowth against his skin and thick fur as he barreled through - no time for dodging, no time for another trail "BRIARPAW!" he cried, his mind racing. No, no, no, nononono!
Skidding to a halt as he broke through the edge of the forest, he stared in indescribable horror as he caught a glimpse of his sister's flailing paws in a shiny grey contraption just before it was blocked by the monster's sealing pelt. "NO!" he cried, lunging forward. Briarpaw! BRIARPAW! He would save her! He wouldn't let her go - this wasn't going to end like it did with Snowbloom -
Wasppaw wasn't going to let it happen! He - he -

He got a face-full of black smoke as the monster belched loudly, knocking Wasppaw tumbling to the ground as his senses went haywire with the horrible smells of the monster. Before he could recover, the creature let out a roar and fled away with the sounds of crunching dirt and muffled screams.
Shaking his head, Wasppaw made chase, stumbling and dizzy, but forcing himself to move. His muscles ached and his heart pounded so hard, he was convinced it would tear through his chest, but no matter how fast he ran, the monster kept going. The distance kept widening. Wider, wider...
Tripping over air, the medicine cat apprentice fell to the ground. Chest heaving as he watched the monster disappear, Briarpaw somewhere behind it's unnaturally shiny pelt.
    Wasppaw...
    had failed again...

  • [center][fancypost=background-color: none; bordercolor=transparent; text-align:justify; borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-size: 9; line-height:110%;color:black;]Day after day, his once large family was slowly trickling away. Today? Today was no different from every other day these past couple moons. A death, a loss, one seriously injured, one taken away by twolegs; it was his daily routine to feel sorrow and loss now. Sometimes he wished his sister hadn't had so many children, and then left them for StarClan, but even he couldn't control such a thing. Snowbloom hadn't chosen to die, and her litters had all been out of love, which was nice. SkyClan, in general, was slowly dying in numbers.

The shouts of twolegs and the yowl of a familiar face immediately drew Nightcrow away from his solo-patrol. When he arrived on the scene, all that was left was a heaving Wasppaw and a monster far in the distance. He swore he had heard Briarpaw screeching, and maybe it was that monster in the distance that had taken her. Yet, until Wasppaw could explain anything, the muscular tom was trying his best to stay positive. "Are you alright?" He asked Wasppaw monotonously, attempting to gently nudge him and help him to his paws. The last thing the maine coon mix needed was one of his nephews or nieces to see him have a mental breakdown over another loss. Remaining emotionless and rock-solid was all he could do to cope.
