    The hexed necklace

    Aleera smiled as she watched her horse Taboo race around the meadow. Her home had been destroyed and she had lost everything. Well, maybe not everything. She still had her beloved horse and the necklace that had been given to her as a child.


    Taboo whinnied and trotted up to her. His white and black coat gleaming in the sunlight. He nuzzled her gently as if trying to cheer her up.

    ooc: i'm sticking with Lance and Dan, and may add their friend Nick or Zenniel at some point

    The twin brothers sat at their camp deep within the woods, eating a roasted deer they'd caught earlier that morning

    As the horse pranced away from the girl, towards her, the wolf licked her chops. She hadn't eaten in a good while and had only happened on this forest that very morning. She shook herself mentally.


    No, Starya... you can't eat someone's pet! No matter how hungry you are!


    Her nose twitched as she smelled meat cooking. She shifted to her human form as her stomach growled and she gripped her belly as if to stifle the noise. Once could see now that she needed a good few square meals. She had been travelling for a few weeks, and had come from an icy area, where prey was few and far between, and anything work catching was too difficult for a lone wolf to catch. She sighed.


    Well, no good will come from sitting here and wallowing in self pity. she told herself. The fact that someone caught something means there's prey here... you just have to look.



    With a last look at the girl and her horse, she shifted back into wolf and trotted off into the forest to try and get some food.

    When Aleera caught Taboo she nimbly jumped onto his back. Taking hold of two locks of his thick black and white mane she turned him a little and urged him forward. "Time to fine somewhere to rest for the night." She said as Taboo took off at a dead gallop.


    Taboo's ears twitched as he kept an eye out for trouble. He let out a loud whinny as they searched for a temporary home.

    Starya limped through the forest. She had been lucky enough to nab a wild bore's piglet, but she had barely survived being gored, managing to shift and leap into a nearby tree, still clutching her prize. She had hurt herself when she had leapt out of the tree and shifted back into her wolf form. Seeing a fire nearby, Starya limped forward, wondering who it was and her stomach growled as she smelt the roasting meat. The piglet had barely hit the bottom. When she reached the camp, she saw two men who looked remarkably similar, then lay down and waited for them to notice her as well.

    Lance faced her, having noticed her long before his brother would have been able to "You can join us if you wish" he said


    Dan whipped around to follow his brother's gaze

    Starya hesitated.


    I-I don't want to intrude... she said softly as she watched the two men, then cursed her hunger as her stomach rumbled again.


    She noticed the girl from before on her horse watching them, before going on her way. Staya wondered what her story was and where she was off to.

    Starya nodded and padded closer, shifting into her blonde- haired human form, her wolf-paw birthmark clearly visible on her left shoulder under her sleeveless jerkin. She smiled at the men.


    "Thank you." she said softly, then looked at Dan. "You're right.. .I haven't had a proper meal in a while... so... I-I really appreciate you offering to spare me some meat."
