  • (Sorry!!!! Super busy keeping up with school work and writing demos and stuff, but I'mm be on a little today!)

The twig snapped, kind of pulling me out of this daze I've been in for the past few days. Being told you're going to either kill or be killed by a bunch of other teenagers is not exactly easy to hear.

"Holy shit." I laughed, crouching down closer to the trap, "That's probably a really useful skill." I stared at the trap, as if I was inspecting it, although it was pretty obvious I had no idea how any part of it worked.

Standing back up, I stretched a hand out for her to shake, "That's really cool, honestly"

  • I smiled and nodded, taking her hand and shaking it. "I guess I could show you how it works and how to make it?" I suggested scratching the back of my neck nervously. "I can tell you're not the best with traps, and I guess this could make us allies?"

I bit my lips before picking up the now snapped trap, setting it on the countertop and clawing open the mouth of it. "I'd be happy to teach you some skills."

  • "Yeah, teaming up sounds like a good idea. You seem to be the only other teenager here who's not bloodthirsty and has past the age of puberty..." I laughed, though there was an obvious tone of sadness in my voice.

"I could teach you some stuff in return, if you want. I'm not the best with weapons, but I know some tricks and I could help you with some stamina exercises and stuff." I offered, glancing around the gyms. Some people were watching out interaction, which made me a little nervous that we'd become targets, but isn't everyone in the game a target? My face gave another little twitched as I placed my hands in my pocket as an attempt to not look as nervous as I was.

  • I nodded with a small sad smile. "I swear the capitol is sick with these stupid games." I stated quietly, making sure the peacekeepers and instructors wouldn't hear her. "If they're going to carry on with them they should up the age." I added quickly, glancing up and looking towards the youngest children, all of which looked highly intimidated by the careers.

"That would be amazing, thank you." I turned and noticed the looks we were getting before sighing and shaking my head. "Ignore them they're trying to intimidate you. No matter what they'll eventually come after you in the arena." I said nervously, pulling you close to show you the traps. My hands were on top of yours, my chest against your back as I guided your hands.
