She had always been a sociable creature, quick and willing to make friends and network in BlizzardClan and beyond, but there were times when the quiet was welcomed. As leader, there was always so much to do - far more than when she had been Feliks' vice-leader or later as one of Tama's deputies. It was a great deal more responsibility and authority than she was accustomed to, but the BlizzardClan leader hardly minded it.

She had picked up a great deal of experience over the years, and it felt good to finally put that knowledge to the test. Fortunately, for the time being, BlizzardClan appeared to be operating as smoothly as usual.

He had been prone to wanderlust these days, roaming and wandering wherever his paws seemed to take him. Truth be told, he missed his old life as a loner. Taking on jobs that tested his bounty hunting skills and allowed him to reap the benefits of his quests rewards. The one and only reason he stuck around for clan life was due to his attraction for a certain someone. Not that he would ever admit that out loud, but it was true. There were days where he found himself feeling rather conflicted, longing to be free again from the laws that bound him. But he couldn't leave Sylmae behind, and that alone kept him anchored down the to river dwelling clan he called home. But surely there had to be other reasons to make a clan feel more like home? Yet he was struggling to find that balance and continued to find himself more and more distant as time passed on. A heavy huff escaped the male's jaws as he looked up from his aimless wandering, the scent of blizzardclan gaining his attention. He had traveled far and had hardly realized it. The tigerhound's pale gaze zeroed in the small albeit familiar form of Sweetophelia and his back straightened a bit. He had not spoken to the newly made leader since their successful cracking of the Phantom case. Sweetophelia, hey. It's good to see you again. How have you been holding up? He questioned with a slight incline of his head, calling out to her. Giovanni was not much of a talker, but there were times when he needed company and this was one of them.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Sweetophelia was well-aware of Giovanni's close friendship with Sylmae - especially when one considered his behaviour after the RiverClan deputy was taken by the Phantom. However Sweetophelia was not aware that Giovanni harboured romantic feelings for Sylmae, nor that her friend actually returned his feelings despite being already married to Cascadingstarlight. Of course, Sweetophelia was not so naive as to believe that no animal in a relationship ever felt tempted by another animal outside of their lover. But it was adultery that she disapproved of, especially after her short-lived relationship with Tsubodai. He had never promised her exclusivity, but nevertheless it had killed her everyday to watch him go to bed with any willing girl night after night.

For now, Sweetophelia offered the familiar hybrid a friendly smile, pleased to see him once again - in much lighter circumstances. "I've been doing well - adjusting to leadership was a new experience for me, but I think I have things under control." The whole Phantom incident had been difficult - especially because the discovery had came out on only her second day of leadership - but the matter seemed to have been resolved neatly. "What about you? And Sylmae? Is she okay?" Sweetophelia didn't have many opportunities for travel outside of business but she was concerned for her friend's recovery, even if Sylmae had emerged from her imprisonment in that cave relatively unharmed.

He might have done some things in his past that he was not necessarily proud of. But for the most part he had high morals and good intentions even if he went the wrong way about them. Naturally he never would have gone after a married woman. But after saving her from the torturous clutches of shadowclan and seeing her so broken and battered he could not help that his feelings snowballed into a giant mess. At first he told himself that it was simply another job, that he would leave after his injuries healed up. But he never did and it's not hard to guess why. His gaze shifted a little lower to gain a better view of the domestic feline standing before him and he gave a subtle nod of his head. It was good to hear that all was well within her clan. All things considered Sweet defiantly deserved some peace after all of the rather recent colorful events that had taken place.

That is good news to hear, I'm happy for you. The tigerhound murmured with a brief grin of his own. As she inquired about the piebald husky his smile faltered in the slightest, though he did well to play it off. Sylmae is doing very well. Still her same happy and warm self as if nothing had ever happened. Her and Cade seem really happy. He offered with a light shrug of his broad shoulders although every part of his last sentence killed him on the inside. His glowing gaze found his paws for a moment. The length of his ebon hair hiding his brows that were tightly knitted together for a moment. Pushing the thought aside he lifted his gaze once more. I'm...I'm as okay as I can be. He couldn't speak of his recent death. It still haunted him and he did not wish to have his thoughts lingering on the horrific experience. I guess i'm just a little confused. How did you know blizzardclan was the perfect home for you? Giovanni asked with a twitch of his ears, genuinely curious.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"Thank you," nodded Sweetophelia, her pale lilac gaze held relaxed. At the back of the mind, she wondered how RiverClan and its leader, Ivylee, were faring. Recently there had been an outbreak of violence between WindClan and ShadowClan, and she knew for a fact that it would not be very long before other clans - pro and anti alike - became involved in the violence. As an ally of both ShadowClan and WindClan, the BlizzardClan leader could not help but feel that it had been an unnecessary shame that their neutrality had ended so violently. There were other mutual enemies to be contended with after all - such as the Exiles or the Cartel.

"I'm so glad to hear that. I had heard rumours that they had had children together. Was this true?" Of course in all of the drama and action, Sweetophelia hadn't had the opportunity to properly catch up with her friend, and now she had become busier than ever. She frowned once Giovanni began speaking of himself, his eyes falling to his paws. Was he having doubts? "For me? I'm not sure that you can ever find anything that's completely 'perfect' for you. But I know that I was and am happy in BlizzardClan, and that's enough for me. I didn't come to BlizzardClan with the intent of joining, you know. Both times it had just happened by chance, and because the community was so opening and warm, I knew that I could be happy if I only stayed." Now Sweetophelia had her own family in BlizzardClan and she couldn't imagine ever leaving her life in the clan for anything else.

Thankfully, so far riverclan knew nothing of the turmoil currently enveloping both shadowclan and windclan. Although, like with all wars it was only a matter of time before it spread and there was fighting happening on all sides. Bowing his body down the large hybrid proceeded to lay across the length of the ground, attempting to remain looking as casual as possible. When in reality his body ached from the extensive bruising and cuts received from the multitude of rocks he had collided with during his tragic trip downriver. The questioning of whether or not Sylmae and Cade had children gained his attention once more and he gave a slight nod of his head. Yeah they have a couple, but I'm not sure where they are at now. He murmured with a slight frown. Nebula seemed to have up and vanished and Jaqueline had come back a few days ago for a brief period of time before doing the same.

He hated how he could be read like an open book at times. No matter how hard he tried to keep his emotions hidden under lock and key. Or perhaps Sweetophelia was simply good at reading the body language of others. Regardless, he listened as she explained her feelings for her clan and a taunt expression pulled at his lips. He...didn't feel that way about riverclan. He was only there because Sylmae happened to be there as well. Could it be possible that he was only making himself miserable without even realizing it? I did not have intentions of joining the clan when first coming there. But I was injured and Sylmae insisted that I stayed until I healed up and I never exactly left. However, I'm not quite sure how to feel about the clan itself. Especially after what had happened after his death. How they had just left his body to rot by the river without so much of a thought of burying him.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"Ah," Sweetophelia blinked, considering the information. Many animals - her own original parents included - had fleets of children and could hardly even remember all of them. Sweetophelia herself was not quite like that, having only given birth to four children (she didn't often like to think of her stillborn child, which would have made the number five). Her older twins - Jaehaerys and Lucerys - were both grown and settled at this point, but her youngest sons - Aleksei and Mieczyslaw - lived with her still and she tried her best to be an attentive mother to them.

Sweetophelia listened in silence, concerned for Giovanni's happiness. She liked RiverClan well enough - they were an ally after all - but when she had been considering to join the clan on a dual-membership, she had ultimately decided against pursuing such an arrangement. She was happy enough in BlizzardClan. "Sometimes one animal isn't enough, or it shouldn't be the reason for why you stay in a clan. You can always remain friends with Sylmae even if you found a new home, more fitting for you perhaps." Sweetophelia herself was friends with Sylmae and they belonged to different clans. But by this point, Sweetophelia was beginning to sense that Giovanni's relationship to Sylmae far surpassed her own friendship with the RiverClan deputy, but she would not yet admit this revelation aloud. "What do you want to do?"
