  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]It had been months since Sweetophelia had lived in BloodClan, months since she had seen her old friends, and many months since Sola still ruled. She had visited the anti-clan a few times since her return to the clans but her visits had always remained brief. It was strange to see that Evangeline now led BloodClan, especially considering that they had once been promoted to Second Tier and then to Third Tier alongside one another.

It was even stranger to realise that Evangeline would soon be her daughter-in-law. Initially Sweetophelia had had her hopes set on Amour Darling, the second BloodClan queen, but somehow her son had managed to charm both females into proposing to him. It both impressed and unsettled Sweetophelia, but she planned on welcoming both females into their family just the same. She had no grandchildren (ever since it came out that Lucerys and Malaella's daughter was in fact Sweetophelia herself in a new form) and although the thought of ageing concerned her, the prospect of her children's happiness and settlements also pleased her.

For now, life seemed to be moving smoothly. Stepping out of her hut, the BlizzardClan leader glanced around at the quiet camp.

Things had been smooth enough, he had been active in their politics and games, but it seemed like the two leaders after Iconoclast couldn't stand him, or the Deputies, and the pain from having his spine damaged by an Anti-BloodClanner had not helped. If he didn't like something, he'd damn sure let them know about it, and it seemed like his over passionate stance on what BloodClan should be doing led to a demotion and death threats from them. The only reason he didn't leave was because of Evangeline, but now... he didn't have that. HBK really didn't know where his kids were, the one time had searched for them led to that breakup and now he was reluctant to continue his exploring. Would he rather know their fate or be left with false hope that they may still be alive?

The leopard was sitting on top of his recently claimed hut, stretching his head towards the sky as he looked for someone. A harris hawk, he hoped she knew where he was. The leopard didn't like talking about his feelings, but it was so much easier to talk to his pet, even if she didn't have the emotional capacity to reply back with advice work taking. He let out a drawling sigh, looking down from his perch to see BlizzardClan's leader. "Hey Sweet!" his voice echoed, clambering to the edge of his hut and draping his paws over the edge of it as he lay. HBK was smiling drowsily, affected by a lack of sleep. He had been waiting to hear that familiar falcon call from the early hours of the day, but he supposed that catching up with Sweetophelia would help pass the time.

    "Been busy?" he asked, smirking.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Sweetophelia hadn't been close to the BloodClan leader or many of the highest ranked BloodClanners, but Melantha had mentored her, and she had also even managed to make friends with a few other BloodClanners, high and low in the hierarchy. But perhaps it was her dual-membership in BlizzardClan that had always forced some distance between her and the other BloodClanners. It simply couldn't be helped. Her time in BloodClan had been exciting, a truly enlightening experience, but BlizzardClan had always been her true home, the first place the Targaryen actually felt safe again since the Westerosi civil war and her family's downfall.

"Ah," Sweetophelia turned, blinking calmly at the sight of the familiar leopard. "Hey, Heartbreakkid." She alternated between using his given name and his nickname, but oftentimes abbreviations simply felt too strange on her tongue. At his question, her mouth twitched into a smile, and the tall Ragdoll paused, her head tilting back to look up at his high perch. "Obviously. I'm not sure how up to date you are on current events but after Tama died, her successor disappeared soon after, so I had to keep things moving in BlizzardClan." Two other clans led by Xerseses - WindClan and ColouredClan - had all taken hits in productivity in the wake of the deaths of their respective leaders, but Sweetophelia felt that BlizzardClan was recovering well. "What about you? I heard you left BloodClan a while back, where did you go before finding us?"

He imagined that it would suck to have to go through leaders quickly like that. Sure, his relationship was strained with BloodClan's former leaders (potentially even the current ones due to the circumstances), but at least they were consistent and didn't disappear when things got tough. Eh, it probably wasn't the successor's fault, but the timing was still awful. It was just a shame that it had to be death to cut a perfectly good leadership short.

Ebony ears flattened and the leopard nodded firmly. "Yeah... BloodClan was making me miserable, there's no reason for me to stay anymore,". His commitment to groups had been spotty, his reckless switching of clans when BloodClan first upset him attested to that, but until now he thought he'd be forever locked to that place. "So I tried ShadowClan out for a bit, I wasn't a big fan. I kept on seeing the same guys over and over again, they were the only ones bothering with me. It's a big clan, it shouldn't just be three animals trying to keep it afloat socially,". HBK was passionate about ShadowClan, it had been his clan for so long before, but it had changed. He wouldn't have minded if he saw negativity towards him because at least that was something, instead he just saw apathy - somehow that was worse.

"I know they're good people, I just wished they'd put more effort into making me feel welcome. When the incident with the Cartellian happened, no one even knew who I was, or tried to avenge me. They let him get away with it,". He was glad he was able to make his own revenge, but being alone against one big group when the help was just lying around bothered him. Besides, what if the wolf did the same strategy as the last time and pretended to be his ex-fiancee through mental manipulation? He'd need someone to snap him out of it. The big cat looked down quickly, huffing a "Sorry,". He did tend to waffle when he was interested in something, he didn't want to risk having problems with an ally due to ego related things. "What about you though? Something tells me you haven't been in BlizardClan all this time,". She would've been leader much sooner if that was the case.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]Sweetophelia had no intentions of leaving BlizzardClan the way she had the first time, but life was unpredictable. She could still be forced to leave her clan and family by death or chance. She could only focus on the now and hope that it would never have to come to such a violent or sudden end. It was fortunate that there was always something to distract her with - work, alliances, clanmates, and family. She liked to keep busy.

"I'm sorry to hear that, but I can understand what you mean, Heartbreakkid. I've seen BloodClan recently for myself - it's changed so much." And although she hadn't always been completely happy in BloodClan to begin with, the tall Ragdoll wasn't much certain that she liked what BloodClan had become in the recent months. Perhaps she simply missed the old friends, and disliked the new changes and faces.

"And I understand what you mean, about feeling left to fend for yourself." She had often felt like that in BloodClan. She knew that Ed had despised her, seen her as an outsider and potential rival. The others hadn't given her much thought, and her friends were few and far in between. It was so natural to simply begin feeling as if you were alone, that no one really put much value in you, that you were dispensable with countless other animals constantly waiting for your rank to open up.

"But I hope that you will soon find that that's not the way BlizzardClanners treat one another." Perhaps their anti-clan allies would call them soft, but Sweetophelia doubted that caring for your clanmates' safety and happiness was a character weakness. BlizzardClan was stronger that way, when its members knew that they were valued, that someone would care, that they would speak or take action should they be wronged. "You're always welcomed in my den, you know. I always appreciate hearing input from my clanmates."

Smiling simply, her ears flicked as he moved the topic of discussion onto her. "That 'something' is correct," she confirmed. "I only returned a few months ago, and I began rising through the ranks until I stopped at the rank of deputy. Then Tama died, leaving Saltcircles to succeed her. Barry, our second vice-leader died after that. So when Saltcircles disappeared, I was elevated to the rank of leader." Funny, that Tama might have never been leader if Sweetophelia had only not resigned from her place as Feliks' vice-leader. But she didn't regret her past actions - who knew how different of a present they'd be living in now. She was satisfied with the ways thing were. "I've only been leader for a few weeks. How do you think I'm doing so far?" She was curious to hear his opinion and trusted that he would be forthright. She didn't need flattery.
